Hello,
I did something very wrong, I tried to change my kernel from Lupus to DoomKernel and picked the wrong one, the Xperia ARC one instead of Xperia Play (v22 instead of v14).
I now have a half-dead phone, stuck with a blank screen at boot, no recovery, no fastboot (fastboot keeps waiting for the device).
The only thing I can do is opening it through ADB shell and see the filesystem. It at least partially seems ok, since I managed to uname the phone and see my kernel version.
I saw matt4321's thread and thought it could help me to flash a new recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25052229
But unfortunatly, the linked online recovery build tool always *crashes* before getting the job done:
http://builder.clockworkmod.com/
repo sync failed.
Build step 'Execute shell' marked build as failure

My question is: can anyone help me to get a working (and ADB flashable) ClockWorkMod "recovery.img" file in order to mend my phone please ? Any working link would be greatly appreciated !
And please forgive my bad english (be assured I do my best to be understandable !).

Can you enter flash mode? Hold back while plugging usb. If flashtool report that you are in flash mode then just flash stock firmware (ftf) file. That should fix all errors

Thanks for your very fast answer. I'm now downloading Flash Tool on SonyMobile website. Will I loose my root access if it ever works ?

That will also work (at least at part to flash stock firmware)
But i mean flashtool from http://flashtool.net
But please, while you are downloading it, read sticky threads in general and q&a section.

Emma is used to flash stock firmware on Xperia phones with unlocked bootloader, it is not dead end.
With Flashtool is just much easier
Edit: no need to apologize, we were all noobs at the begining

When I try to boot it up (using the power button of course), the LED above the USB connection place flashes green, and the phone vibrates once and does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I found the issue; can't use SEUS after you unlock the bootloader. Thanks anyways! All I did was flash a rom that relocked my bootloader (?? don't know the terms), and then run SEUS again.
you cant relock a bootloader with a rom.. you need help fro this thread. download a ftf firmware and flash t using flashtool so that the phone boots p and then check the bootloader status .....later depending on it, flash a custom kernel and rom (optional though recommended)

Well, there are scripts available that can relock the bootloader...
Link-in's method works too.

Whoops, guess I meant I flashed an FTF... lol. Something I found on YouTube.
But yeah, I've run into another problem; while rooting the phone (using this guide over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683957), I think I've bricked my phone again. I didn't enable USB Debugging and Unknown Sources, so it got stuck at Daemon Started Successfully. Haven't been able to boot into my phone since. Sorry if this problem has been solved before, wasn't able to find the solution while searching that thread.'
EDIT: ...sorry again, managed to stumble my way through and revive my phone.

Hi everyone.
Before I start with my topic, I would like u to know the following:
1- I have very little experience in rooting,flashing,unlocking,ROMs,kernels,etc.. So please explain in simple words [step by step] if possible.
2- I already searched the forum for tuto's,and I can't deny that I've found various ones but, unfortunaitly,I still find troubles everytime I try them on my mobile
3- This is my 1st android device so I don't want to mess things up, that's why I prefered to have supervising though this topic.
4- My Xperia Arc has official ICS 4.1.B.0.431, Stock kernel, locked bootloader, and Un-Rooted -- In other words, My device is just 100% official :good:
So,through my tour in this forum, I found that the easiest way to root an Arc with the bootloader locked is the one explained in this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683957
And I read that way carefully, but I've gotta say that there are minor thing that I didnt understand :S
since I'm already on 4.0.4, I just have to do 3 steps : flash 4.0.3 kernel, root, flash back 4.0.4 kernel. Okay, I understand that, but:
when I downloaded the 1st file, which should be 4.0.3 kernel, I extracted it, and found 2 ftf files....
1- Why do I see 2 files and not only 1? which file should I put in the flashtool\firmwares folder? which one to actually flash by the tool? [upgrade Or downgrade]?
2- Their names start with LT18i,so these files are supposed to work also in LT15i?
Waiting for the answers so as I can begin with the 1st step and then move on to the 2nd step...
I know that this might,or actually WILL,look so dumb/noob for u but,... really can't see my phone bricked so...
Thank you so much in advance..

Hi guys, as the title said, I want to root my new Xperia Play R800a, and I am very lost right now. Ultimately, my goal is to install Xperia NXT 2r1. I think that since I have the r800a version, I am not able unlock the bootloader, so I am ok with not having a custom kernel.
But the problem is, I'm totally lost right now. Could anyone show me a guide or something to what I'm supposed to do to start? That's all I'm asking.
What I HAVE done is downloaded everything they asked for me to download in the post, and have installed flashtools, but whenever I try flashing the firmware 4.0.2 enhanced, I am not able to do so. It is just stuck on a screen where it tells me to go to fastboot mode, but I go to fastboot mode, and for some reason it isn't recognized. (I know it's fastboot because the power button is glowing blue.) I think a driver might be installed incorrectly, but I'm not sure how to install it correctly after.
I'm sorry if my post isn't that helpful, I'll add any more information if you guys want me too.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late response -
I flashed Firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced, the one that they told me to flash in the guide.
I did notice however, that it said that it was for r800i. I just assumed it was universal. Is there a specific firmware I should be flashing for r800a?

I went to that link and downloaded and flashed R800a_4.0.2.A.0.79.ftfwith vendor partition NEWEST FTF, but the same thing happens when I try to root. It's like the button is unresponsive. Is there a specific ftf I was supposed to flash?
Alright found out the problem. Apparently there are two versions of flashtool. One version doesn't work while the other does. I honestly don't know what the difference is. But for other people who might be facing the same problem, if your flashtool has only three icons, Flash, Root, and check for SU permissions I think (it looks like a key), then you have the wrong version. Your flashtool should have 7 icons.
Doesn't Matter

Oh yes, I found that out a bit later. The problem was lying in the flashtools I was using. Once I got the right flashtools, I reflashed the previous firmware rooted it, installed the rom, and it all worked perfectly.
Hey guys!
I just bought my Z1 Compact two days ago and gonna love it,and today i'm spending all day long
just to find out how to root it.I found a tutorial on this forum how to do it,since this is my very first rooting i'm
pretty much confuse, right now my phone is jammed and keep booting on and sometime "Sony" logo
appeared for so long until i turning off my phone "Volume Up+Power" since the "Power" button won't work properly.
I think i have delete whole android system file and i don't make any backup.
Can i get my phone run as normally back?

can you post the url of this tut?!
The solution will probably be to flash a stock FTF with Flashtool, but this is the Xperia Z section, so your thread shouldn't really be here.
You should ask in the correct forum for your device - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.

what have you done to make it work?
I download this TFT file. It's a android jelly bean for my Z1c.
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615874
and flash it using Flashtool
Code:
http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
So after finish flashing in order to get my phone rooted i download CWM
to unlock my bootloader.
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620794
After bootloader is unlocked i'm installing supersu to get rooted.
Code:
http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
And then i do a simple backup using this method
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
---
Before this i thought i have delete my whole system but i was wrong
because i unlock my bootloader using fastboot
and download false version of CWM (14.3.A.0.681) since
my current android version is 14.2.A.1.114.So it does not fits
together.
@ kingvortex nice to see you here :good:

@MUDASSIR MOHAMMED
I need more info. Which firmware did you flash (stock (which version?) / CM11/12/13)? In most cases you can reflash the phone using Flashtool. If you were flashing using flashtool you might have a corrupted .ftf file.

He says he ended up in a bootloop. This does not mean that his phone is dead or that he will need SETool. Now he just said "bootloop." We don't know which "bootloop" (kernel/OS). It is most likely the OS bootloop which can be simply fixed by reflashing.
