Apps2SD+ but limited space?

Hey guys,what's up?
So...I am running AuraxTSense 8.0 on my phone and have made an ext4 about 600Mb partition for Apps2SD.Recently I installed Pocket Legends on my phone along with some other games and all was ok.However,yesterday I tried to update Pocket Legends from the Market and it said that there is limited space on my phone and it cannot update.I then checked in my settings and I had 23 Mb free on my phone.I tried moving all apps to SD with Titanium Backup(excluding Launchers and widgets) and it persists that I only have that much space.What is going on?
Also,when choosing to install apps on external storage in Spare Parts,does it mean Apps2SD+ partition or froyo Apps2SD?

i dont have this problem anymore, i have lots of apps installed and still have 1.6GB of internal storage lol

Yeah,I know.You're using the data2SD thing.I've seen you in that thread.Bastard!
I however am using the good old apps2ext,with an ext4 partition.What about that?

I've been having much the same problem.
It would seem that no matter how many apps I move to the SD card, I don't actually get all that more free space on the phone.
A 'df' in the terminal shows me that I've got plenty of space in /system, but /data is nearly full. Nearly half of that is in /data/dalvik-cache.
So I wiped the dalvik cache from recovery and now it's okay again.. for the time being.
Maybe PocketLegends requires a lot of space in /data? Or something was wrong with the update?

ok guys heres the deal, when you use apps2sd what is does is create a symlink between /data/app/, the dalvik-cache and the ext partition on your sd card. the downside of this method is, /data/data/ remains on your phone, /data/data. holds all your settings, app data and other things, and this is where your space is going, one great way for s-off users to improve there situations, is to change the MTD Partitions on there device, basically taking space from /system and /cache and adding this to /data, you can reclaim and extra 50mb+ using this method

Right now, I have it set with 250 MB /system, 147 MB /data and 40 MB /cache.
I suppose if I'm running out of space on /data but not on /system, then I could repartition again.

if your really stingy with /system and remove all the htc apps and widgets you dont use, you can get /system down to 170-180mb that would give you 70-80mb of space back, heres another good tip, there is no point having flash player in /system as its always going to be updated, if you remove installflashplayer.apk from /system/app/ and the associated libflashplayer.so in /system/lib/, that gives you and extra 15mb straight away

You should refrain from making a partition bigger than 2GB for DATA2SD. Issues have been reported, specially with market.
Read thoroughly the DATA2SD thread to gather all informations

[Q] Partition SD card

Ok kinda weird question, but hey I want to know. Scoured the other XDA forums n found nothing real solid. On our Inc2 through any recovery I've noticed partition SD card. What does this do? What are good numbers to use if done? Benefits if any? Thanx

It allows you to use sd external partitions for installing more apps. Gives you more data. Use an app like link2sd after you partition to create your mount scripts. Then you can use the app to create symlinks for things in your data partition. I have a lot of stuff installed that I would normally not have space for.

Only part that is kinda confusing, to me at least, is when it asks the amount of space used or size of the partition. Any idea whats a good starting point or set of numbers for an Inc2?

depends on how many apps and stuff you plan on installing, honestly, you shouldnt need it

I used a 2 gb partition. I have a 32gb card installed. I think 1gb would have been good. I still have a lot about 400mb free on internal data and about the same on sd-ext.

I did the same as Un1c0de, 2gb on a 16gb card and same result. I dont even think I used a full gb. I guess nice to have in case I go app crazy. lol

Any way to reclaim integrated memory space?

Hi guys,
I was wondering, now that I no longer use a TouchWiz-based ROM, if there's an easy way to reclaim the "lost" space available in the /system folder after flashing a now much small ROM. I know TW-based ROMs use at least 1GB of space, if not more, but my current ROM barely pushes 200MB used of the /system folder, leaving with me a lot of unused space I would like to use for the integrated storage.

It's about partitions, no matter what rom you use.
Imagine you have a 1gig harddisk. You partitioned it into four 250gig harddisks as C,D,E,F
You have installed Windows 7 on C drive but then you installed XP to save some spaces for the harddisks D,E,F
Would it be possible? No!
You have to resize all the partitions which would cause you bigger problems.

I think is something to do with the pit files.
I read something about Sammy offering a new Flash for the s4 with some Chinese rom that enables them to get another couple gig space whilst losing some trash.
I hope we can get something similar either officially or through our devs

I don't think I follow you. You're telling me resizing partitions is not possible? Theoretically, it is with any type of filesystem and partition table that supports differently sized partitions/blocks. I'm not asking if it's possible to do it, I'm asking if it's possible to do it in an easy way.
My question wasn't if it was possible to do it with the new ROM, I was asking if it was possible to do, now that I have some abundant disk space for /system.
On my Nokia N900 this was extremely straightforward as I basically had the full GNU coreutils available - and with some hacking I resized the partitions to better fit my needs - and even flashed the fat32 filesystem to ext3 while I was at it.
And since it's possible with S4 as 3vo3d mentioned, there's no reason it shouldn't with the GN2.

No, I didn't say that you cannot resize partitions
I said that you cannot gain more space in other partitions by just installing a lighter OS. I said exactly what you said in the rest.

Partition resizing

I have 1.8GB of free space on my SYSTEM partition. Is there any way to shred that down so I can have more space on my DATA partition?
I'm running cm12.1 on my t805

As far as I know it is not possible because system partition size is fixed in source of the ROM. Theoretically it could be done but I am not sure if custom recovery also needs to be customised like ROM? I think best solution would be to buy large sdcard (64GB) ?

It is somewhat possible to resize partitions by adjusting the parameters in the pit file.
However how risky this is for the sake of what, 1.5gb, I don't know?
The better option, if you don't want to waste that space, is to use it.
Move your apps from user to system apps.
Its easy enough to do and can be accomplished with little effort using apps already available and with the bonus of gaining the extra space on the data partition.

Is anyone else's Storage full?

I have the 32gb variant, using the stock rom. I haven't even unlocked the bootloader. Why is the root of my storage almost full? I'm not talking about the internal memory partition.

That's ur system partiton. That is supposed to be like that. It contains all the system apps like system UI, Google play, etc.
U can't access it and usually it has very little space remaining.
