Thank you very much! I've been looking for something like this ever since I unlocked my phone lolol. However, I think it looks a bit choppy whenever you try to open the app drawer or go into blinkfeed :/ maybe try to make their backgrounds transparent as well? (or is that a bit too overambitious?)

Here is what I found in regards to that. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243705 )
Some of the code does not match 100% like in my smali files, and made an educated guess on one line, but i was finally able to properly decompile and edit, and re-compile , but i got the dreaded sense stopped working lol... if it was not for xml edits i would not have to fool with apk tool , but xmls are in binary and damn near impossible to read as is.
I will tinker a bit later , after the last 1.5 hours now and hours earlier today am done thinking about it.

You got to add the code to it if you want to change things like app drawer transparencies, etc... Look a post up or so, that's a pain i cant get it....
All that was done was change transparencies of png files, that's it. I didn't mess with anything else but two files.
Mine runs smooth...

Will you can technically do both, i have replaced system apks, but you get a sense crash error i will say 100% of the time for this one, just re-boot after replacing and it should be good provided you have root of course. Its prob easier to boot to a custom recovery if you have one and flash it.
Your choice. NANDROID first if you replace the apk directly

this theme is sick nice work is there any chance you could port this one of the stock g2 roms?
Nice theme! I'm loving it so far!
One thing though, is there any way to make the battery status green? I'm not talking about the percentage number from the CM settings, i'm talking about the actual battery icon itself like how it looked in the stock theme?
How do I apply theme...ima noob

Flash it just like how you flash a ROM
I flashed it via Clockwork Mod but the theme ends up being too dark on my phone.
Any way you can port this to deodexed stock rom? Much appreciated.
Wouldn't work
Edit: I figured out wat wuz wrong Thanx..nice theme

Do I need to flash this over a fresh rom?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
For everyone wondering how to apply a theme.
It flashes like a regular ROM using ROM Manager.
Install ROM from SD card.
You DON'T wipe data and cache. You only need to start fresh if you have already themed the ROM.
ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM!
Just in case things don't work out how you wanted.
Thanks very much for this theme. Flashed over the nightly; the only change I had to make was to apply the default Dark CM UI Tweak to make the statusbar/notification text white instead of black (black on black != readable).
Thanks for the feedback guys. Which stock ROM did you guys want a port to?
Sorry, I don't know much about the G2 or its ROMs.
Its an amazing theme, thx for the hard work, makes the G2 have a unique look, love the fly by animations on the lockscreen etc.

Thanks, uploaded the first port for Fastludeh22's OTA Deodex ROM. I used Ryanmo5's Nextheme port as a template, so props to him.
Please report any bugs.
When i try to flash the fastludeh22's version i get an installation aborted... anyone else experiencing this?
i redownloaded the rom 3 times too

Flashed yesterday afternoon. Looks great. I experienced one lock up when trying to answer a call. Had tune in radio running so most likely completely unrelated to this theme. We are using clockworkmod recovery. Greatly appreciate your work. This is a great clean look with smooth transitions.

Is there something I can flash through CW that will give me a percentage instead of a bar for my battery indicator in my notification bar? I'm currently using SenseGinger v3.0 (2.3/Sense) by Team Villain. Any help would be appreciated.
http://uot.dakra.lt/ Make sure to read how-to (it's really short and simple).
EDIT: NWM, i made one for you Just make a Nandroid backup before flashing (just in case)

You can use it ONLY with SenseGinger v3.0 ROM. For other ROMs you'll have to visit the website i mentioned above and make one for your self

Kitchen working just fine and bellow is a proof of my words:
Flashable .zip for GingerVillan 1.5 only (make sure to do Nandroid Backup before flashing)
Can you explain how you did that?
C'mon guys, it's pretty well explained in their website - http://uot.dakra.lt/how_to/
If you go to the kitchen website, you basicallly choose the options you want and then you click submit after you've put in everything that you want i.e. battery indicator, scroll glow, and etc. Then you have to wait while the kitchen puts it together and then it'll give you the zip file which you just flash through clock work and you're done. I believe there is also a how to section on the kitchen website. This thing is brilliant. It made senseginger 3.0 the best rom. Now if someone would come out with a kernel that would work for this rom so that I can over clock this bad boy that would be great.

So I made the battery mod, but I can't submit it to the kitchen.
Can someone help me?
Have you uploaded SystemUi.apk and Framework-res.apk files? If not, do so, then select mod/mod's you like and only then click on "submit".
I'm a total noob in this stuff, where can I find those files?
While I am not rooted, I use Zbox from the market. It has a number of utilities in one package with menu bar indicators and battery % is one of them.

This has been confirmed to work on the Nexus 4 too but sadly you need a deodexed ROM (preferably AOSP).
They're yet to release it for the Odexed (aka full stock) :/
This is also a way to achieve it (haven't tried it myself) but as he says early in the posts, flashable zip is not the point of that topic
If anyone has a (flashable zip) solution, feel free to share!

Thx mate , but my rom is odexed .
Sadly, mine is too and from what I can make up from the first link I gave there hasn't been a way to tweak it with an Odexed ROM.
Apparantly making it for an odexed rom is too difficult :/
My advice which I'm following too is just follow that first thread and see if someone posts an odexed flashable zip.
Only a few people claimed this one work for the Nexus 4 (somewhere in the latest comments). It didn't work for me as it failed to apply but it didn't mess up anything either so give it a shot.
For the rest, a lot of people are playing the waiting game (or deodex their ROM, which I cba doing myself)
I'm interested in it too.
Maybe an xposed module could work?
Anyway, if I find something I will tell you

Cheers, same for when I find something. But I've been on the lookout since that first topic got created and no one has come forward for an odexed version so I'm not even sure wether it's possible.
About an xposed module, my knowledge about it is far from high enough to go "mess up" the framework
(hoping for more comments here though )

Just had an idea:
1)Deodex the rom via titanium backup (http://androidforums.com/a75-all-things-root/676252-tutorial-how-deodex-rom.html)
2)Apply the quicksettings mod
2)Odex the rom again via Titanium Backup.
I don't know if this could work, and I can't try because I'm not on stock at the moment.
If you're on stock you can try this?
Thanks

I must try that some time tomorrow, thanks for that link
But "Odex the rom again", as I've understood deOdexed roms make it easier to work with and most custom roms are deOdexed so might just leave it there if it works via titanium I'll report back when I try it out

Let me know
HELLO ALL GRAND FELLAS!
I am here just to share the tablet ui mod for our galaxy grand. It can be done by any newbie but if you want the things to get faster you can view this thread.
NOTE: If you want to apply a new theme, you need to first change the dpi of your phone to 190/240(190 recommended) i.e editing the lines in build.prop. choose your desired theme and again change the dpi to 160!
REQUIREMENTS:
1. CM10.1 on your GRAND.
2. Xposed installer and AppSettings.
3. Your favorite launcher (I prefer golauncher), u can use nova launcher too or even holo launcher.
4. cm10.1update.zip and cm10.1restore.zip.
5. Root explorer or any app to edit your build.prop.
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Install Xposed installer and AppSettings.
2. Go to Xposed installer and click on install. After installing go to modules and tick AppSettings.
3. Now go to AppSettings and set the dpi as follows--
(i)Browser: dpi=240
(ii)Contact: dpi=240
(iii)Messaging: dpi=182/240 (thanks to jomota7)
(iv)Phone: dpi=240
(v)Phone/Messaging storage: dpi=240
4. Go to root explorer to edit your build.prop, navigate to system folder, open build.prop and edit this line--
default->ro.sf.lcd_density=240
edited->ro.sf.lcd_density=160 5. Install go launcher or any other launcher that you prefer.
6. Copy both the .zip files(cm10.1update.zip & cm10.1restore.zip) to your extsdcard.
7. Reboot into recovery.
8. Browse to where you copied your both the files. And install cm10.1update.zip.
9. Reboot.
10. You can always go back to your default Phone ui. Just flash the cm10.1restore.zip and change the dpi in build.prop to 190 or 240 (I prefer 190, gives a perfect look to cm on Grand)
11. You don't need to wipe your data, cache or dalvik cache!
:good:Thats it! You got your Tablet ui on your GRAND!:good:
Downloads:
1. cm10.1update.zip-- http://d-h.st/bMd
2. cm10.1restore.zip-- http://d-h.st/nIu

For help people don´t see my post and karipari95 (i answered you) have this post: OPTIMIZE DPI system/app in 5'' screen
Using the right apps and DPI you transform your Grand duos in PC portable lol. For now only use my portable for flash CWM or root devides i fix from friends lol.
For now in test diferents DPI and increase font because some people need big fonts lol.
"CM10.1 on your GRAND."
Right.... Now understand this point. It's need install Rom cm10.1 first.
Lol I install in Rom cook by custom cook and error appear. Lol.
Put a uplink to tread for cm10.1. I need this phone operational 2 chip's, sow I not install cm.
Change DPI is good but some people don't like small font. Just need increase font in app settings or in settings android.
Thanks karipari95.

The tool OP has used doesn't patch stock ROMs, it only patches custom ROMs (AOKP, AOSP, CM, PA). Which means that to achieve real tablet Ui on stock ROM one has to do the job manually, and for this one needs to mod android.policy.jar, services.jar and frameworks-res.jar.
As for me I'm currently trying, and so far I only half succeeded.
Tablet mode works and apps like settings open in split view, and I managed to have the bottom mini tray to work (look at the screenshots below).
I still didn't figure out how to merge the notification top bar with the navigation bottom bar and I'm not sure I will be able to do it, but let's be optimistic:silly:...

Since there was not one posted i decided to post a Remove Location Icon flashable zip file for those who just decide to stay stock de-bloated.
The update script is by andybones, and i modified the apk.
This will work with stock, and deodex, roms as long as you have no other modifications are made in the systemUI.apk
I also included the stock file as well.
Flash in recovery and wipe the dalvik-cache, reboot, SUCCESS !
There are Three files. The Remove_Location.zip will work for both odex and deodex roms.
For odex roms it deletes the odex file and replaced it with a deodex version. It will work just fine don't stress out about it....
The other two are stock deodex and stock odex. If you want to go back make sure you use the right one!

This will work with stock, odex, roms.
I also included the stock file as well.
Flash in recovery and wipe the dalvik-cache, reboot, SUCCESS !
Enjoy

He's talking about that annoying GPS symbol that Verizon decides to add next to the signal bars.

so this doens't actually remove the icon. it just makes it a clear icon. now my Beats logo is floating in space. I'm gonna undo this

I corrected this problem, and the code is now fixed !
Is it still a blank icon that just now AFTER the Beats icon, or is it really space freed up for other notifications?
I don't have that behavior myself on my device after flashing as seen in the posted screenshot. Anyone else ?

Edit:
Note that even though the modification to the systemUI.apk smali code should set the icon to a with of zero, the actual location of those icons are in the same file
Those were technically removed on my first attempt, which yielded the blank space between the beats icon and 4G symbol or whatever else. That b/c I didn't take into account the smali code in systemUI.apk
Now on my device theI just applied the systemUI.apk modification which just set the width of the ' clear ' location icon to zero which made the space disappear. I have tested this several times by replacing the original systemUI.apk and systemUI.odex files and then re-flashing the modified one and it functions as shown in the OP screenshot.
I also compared the MD5 checksum with the one I flashed vs the one I downloaded from here in case i accidentally messed up and they are identical.

Are you running a custom ROM?
No, stock. Using Xposed for mods.

I was going to say, that those status bar mods are not stock
The SystemUI.apk holds some of the icons for the statusbar, and the systemUI.apk hold the codes that control the blank space between the 4G icon and the beats icon that is where the blank space was.
Those are the files that were modified by me, the first being accidental leaving the space between the beats icon and the 4G symbol, and the later resolved the space
Either way, I had the space previously with your first mod and flashed the updated zip and the space is gone. Thanks for the fix!

Cool, no problem, I am glad it is resolved .
I like the clcok and battery mods there. I wish there was an easy way to do that while keeping the stock ROM. there's no custom ROMs for this phone yet that I've fallen in love with. Bone Stock was good for a While, but even that one I found myself going back to true stock ROM and just debloating it myself.

I would have to agree with you here.
Now IF Verizon would get the message about bloatware maybe some of us might not need to root!
May I also request a WiFi notification removal mod ? Thanks !

I'm running just stock and the mods couldn't be simpler with the Xposed framework installed.

I know what it is n nvr fooled with it atm. Not like I'm opposed to it , I enjoy trying to figure things out on my own ... Now only if I could understand the sense coding to make a transparent Rosie bar ...

I concur. Only cause I dunno how to do this stuff. Newt removed the nag in his sense rom... Is there a way for me to find that part and flash it? Sticking with stock until I see a compelling rom.
