Hello I have the Samsung Epic Galaxy S2 (SPH-D710) Running JB GB27 and using Agats GB27 as root. I downloaded Samsung drivers from their development site and was able to connect to QPST and CDMA with no problem.
The problem began after I downloaded Kies and installed it. Then I wasn't able to connect to QPST or CDMA anymore indicating 'No Phone' on port when in fact the phone is connected with 'ALL' and 'Modem' set on the phone correctly.
Kies displayed that my samsung drivers were being updated to the latest version. I decided then to delete Kies and unistall the samsung drivers Kies updated for me. Cleared out the registry and orphaned files left over reboot. Re-installed my previous samsung drivers but to no avail.
I'd appreciate any and all feedback
Thank You

(Sorry if this is a duplicate of some other post, but since the forum search tool seems to have vanished, I don't feel too horrible...)
Last month, I used QPST to install a different PRL. I h ad to download KIES and everything, and it all worked swimmingly. Between then and now, I did an update PRL to see if it would help with a certain problem, so now I am of course on 60683.
I wanted to reload 01115 to see if I could actually get 3G roaming in Milwaukee, but suddenly my phone is no longer recognized by Kies or QSTP. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but it did no good.
I can still access the PHONE and Extenal_SD partitions as drives, I just can't do anything diagnostically.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dalmus
Okay, I got it working.
Kies still won't see my phone, but having Kies reinstall the drivers actually got Windows to load the drivers, and I watched what Port the phone was sitting on.
So even though I kept seeing "uknown usb device" in QPST, I selected the proper port anyway, and everything worked.
Hey guys,
Updated KIES yesterday (Version 2.3.2.10454_19), and I'm now not able to connect my Galaxy S2.
I'm using the Mr. X Telus Mobility ROM, which as I understand is still the stock ROM.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
Windows 7 Enterprise x64, and, yes, I have rebooted
A lot of times Kies won't recognize a rooted phone.

When I had a Galaxy Fascinate (Telus) I had to unroot my phone, after re-installing a base Telus Rom, in order to get Kies to work. I think Kies is just very sensitive..... now I don't even bother with Kies.... so many other ways to communicate with the phone.
It took me a few tries to get a connection, The trick I found was to run Kies as admin, and it worked for me
Try restarting your computer if you just updated kies

I had this issue before and I had to uninstall Kies, reboot then put it back.
Also make sure you're using a good cable.

I have the same problem.
I plugged in my Telus S 2X.
Kies recognized, said there was firmware upgrade for the phone (ICS I expect), but instructed that I had to update Kies on my Win 7 computer (Win 7 Pro 64 bit) in order to update the phone.
I updated to the latest Kies (June 12 update). It no longer would connect to the phone. I ran the connection troubleshooter. No change. I uninstalled & reinstalled Kies & drivers on the computer. Rebooted several times. No change. I ran as an admin. No change. I made sure debug on the phone was off & tried a number of cables & USB ports. No difference - still no connection.
The prompt says: "cannot start service on the device"
BTW, my Telus Galaxy Note is recognized by the new Kies.
The s2 x works on Kies air as well - just not on Kies USB, which is required for the firmware update.
EDIT: After multiple tries, it just kicked in - didn't do anything other than what I specified above (??!!)
Same here. Kies will not pick up my phone :-(

Trying to flash my phone to boost using a prevaill as a donor. I got the previal to install correctly but i am having a problem getting the s2 drivers. I installed the old epic drivers also installed kies after. Even went into device manager and tried to have windows install each driver online. I do have debug mode on. Not sure what i am missing here.
Also for some reason when i download CDMA WS it gets to 4.6 MB of 4.8 and says network error. i used different browsers. i cleared my history and cookies and no luck.

Whole thread on the issue..

Got a GS3 a little over a month ago in exchange for an Evo LTE that was having serious text message issues. As soon as I got it, I was experiencing absolutely horrible battery life, so I immediately rooted and installed Blazer rom on stock kernel. I did this through Odin, so I had to plug my phone into the computer, which recognized it as a USB storage device so I could access files and whatnot.
Fast forward to now and I"m still having seriously battery life concerns. Today, I ran the one-click unroot/return to 100% stock zip from this link. I tried to plug my phone into my pc to load the file, but though it will charge, the PC won't recognize the phone. I ended up downloading the file to the phone and resetting to stock (thinking I was taking it to Sprint tonight). I made sure the most up-to-date Samsung drivers were installed. I updated my chipset drivers. My USB 3.0 drivers. I even updated the BIOS. Tried three different USB cords and all 14 USB ports (2.0 and 3.0). No luck. Windows keeps saying "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunction and WIndows does not recognize it." I have XP, 7, and 8 all installed on this box and none would properly recognize my phone.
My question is whether this is a computer problem or a phone problem. Given my semi-advanced knowledge of computer hardware, I'm inclined to believe this is actually a problem with the phone, but don't want to go waste an hour or two at Sprint trying to get it fixed. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Picture of actual error included.
Wish I could help. I had a few issues connecting my S3 to my work computer, but downloading the Samsung drivers for the Sprint Galaxy S3 L710 from the Samsung web-site solved that problem. I'm using XP at work. On my home computer and my laptop, which are both using Windows 7 Ultimate, I haven't had an issue though.
Maybe try using the driver from the Samsung web-site or trying to install Samsung Kies and then connecting your phone.

I tried Kies. I installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the drivers twice, with a restart inbetween each step to be safe. No luck.
Stopped by the Sprint store today. They couldn't get it to work either so as it turns out it was actually the USB port on the phone.
Hello everyone,
I have just purchased a new smartphone - Samsung Galaxy Note II (Incredible device).
It was bought in Thailand.
To my surprise it doesn't seem to establish connection to my PC (Windows XP, for files transferring - both directions) via a USB cable.
With my previous Samsung Galaxy Note it was easy, there was, in the settings menu, a feature called "USB utilities" that generate this connection.
In both cases, now and before, there were problems installing the divers:
"There is a problem to install SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device..."
But this did not interfere the previous Samsung Galaxy Note to establish connection to my PC.
Can anyone knows how to solve the problem?
I am already messing around with this subject quite a long time.
I find it hard to believe that Samsung Galaxy Note II doesn't has such capability.
P.S.
I think that this problem is seemingly related to the new firmware 4.1.2 and not to my device. My wife has new Galaxy III with the same problem.
Thanks

Apparently the problem doesn't related to the device nor to the new firmware 4.1.2 .
I tried to connect it with different PC and it functioned smoothly .
Does anyone has a creative idea how to resolve the problem?!
Thanks
Have you got the samsung drivers installed on your computer?
If not try installing kies or just the drivers

I have done these both but no luck.
Something is blocking the installation, it starts and immediately stops:
"Cannot Install This Hardware...."
Open device manager.
Select show hidden and disabled devices.
Un install all saying samsung adb android google note 2 n7100.
Then reboot.
Then install usb drivers. Latest version is in ketan's post.
If you are on windows 8 then search how to install Samsung usb drivers on windows 8.
