Right so it's probably been asked before but just wondering if anybody can help me with rooms and kernels please.
What's the best rom, kernel, tweaks for gaming?
What's the best rom , kernel, tweaks for battery?
What's the best rom, kernel, tweaks for performance?
What's the best room, kernel, tweaks for balanced both battery and performance?
No sarcastic comments please just wondering
Thanks.

there is no "best" rom or kernel. try them and see what suits you the best. Stop wondering and start testing

Hi I'm just wondering which kernel provides the best battery/gaming performance right now. I'm in a dilemma between XM-Kernel and ncx kernel
Can someone provide me with some opinion?

This. There's no such thing as a "best kernel". Find out on your own.

You won't find one the has good gaming performance AND good battery life, decide for one of it or use stock.
Anyway, I'd say the ROM you flash has much more to say about battery life and gaming performance.
I'm running ARHD, everything else stock and I have perfect battery and good gaming performance...
I was wondering. I have viper x 3.3.7 with the latest kernel they provided. I had the ncx kernel before on 3.3.6. What I mean is which is the best kernel to choose that offers oc, uv, better battery life or performance or both?
I want to hear suggestions not a war.

Every device is different. One kernel might run fine on one device but not another so I think it is a pointless question tbh. But I prefer xm

Try all the top three currently available
In no particular order:
1. XM Kernel
2. NCX Kernel
3. kozzmik kernel
:good:
You have to try the various kernel.
Because every device have a different version of tegra 3.
In fact, every device support a different uv and oc
For sense the stock kernel is the best and the most stable
for AOSP I think ncx is the best

NCX is for sure amazing for balance between performance and battery but Kozmikkick is just as good if not a bit more powerful with less battery life.
This is the problem with this question - it has a different answer depending mostly on the USE of the device - which is why everyone has a different view on which kernel is better or worse.
I've tested a few on AOSP (NCX, XM, Trip's and... er... sorry - I can't remember the last one right now!) and PERSONALLY I go with NCX, because it's the default for my rom (so one would think it's heavily tested) and it has very good battery life and the performance EASILY covers anything I throw at it.
XM does sound like it's more geared towards performance than the NCX, but as I said I didn't notice it - everything ran just as smooth, either kernel for me.
All of them

There is no "best" Kernel. I suggest you read through the posts in the dev section and try a few. Its best to make up your own mind based on your needs. Everybody has a favourite, so discussions can get over heated. Thats why the moderation team generally closes "best" threads.
Hey guys
I wanted to ask you which kernel you are using.
And what you think which is the beste regarding to stability smoothness and battery life. If anyone is able pls write the advantages and disadvantages of the kernels down.
Thanks in advance

Using Franco Kernel. I like the color tuning.
If you want the of the 3 Worlds, stay at stock kernel

"Best" kernel/rom/etc threads are not allowed on XDA, as such topics are purely subjective.
What may be best for one, may not be best for another
You'll have to try them out to know what's best for you.

Hello guys I just switched to HTC One X and currently on stock ROM. As for my taste I don't like to stay on that, I found difficult too to choose the best ROM available here, I'm confused actually. I'm new to HTC flashing stuffs and I want to prevent flashing then unhappy with it, because when that happens I have no idea yet to return to stock. So I just want a little tips from you guys based on daily used.
I would like:
-Good Battery Life
-Ultimate Gaming Performance that I can play Asphalt 8 (High) with no lag
Thank you guys and appreciate your suggestions...
I'm noob and this is the best I can do for now, ask

You cannot have both at same time: heavy gaming will drain battery significantly, and good battery comes with sacrifying certain performance.
- If you prefer gaming, try XM kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136731
- Good battery life, try Alex V kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226360
Also, make some tweaks (under/overclock) of cpu/gpu to best suits your needs, but do with caution as wrong settings can damage your phone.

Oh my...thank you so much. But after reading reviews about HOX heating up problems, maybe this time I prefer not to overclock.
Guess I'd go with Alex-V Kernel but what are the ROMs compatible with it? It didn't mention on the thread

Alex V kernel is for any sense 5 rom. So far stock and viper is fully working.

hi guys,
for the xperia s there is a lot of a discontinued kernel like doomlord one or tx-core from trynity. But what's the best kernel for battery and speed for stock based rom?
thanks in advance
That is a matter of opinion
id recomend staying on the stock rom
doomkernel is the best to use, its the safest kernel to use and has some nice features
stock rom is safe and nice to use, its fast but slightly buggy in other ways
i hope my advice/opinion helps you out
its what i use and ive got the best results aside using FXP CM10
I dont think "Best rom" threads are alowed so avoid making them in the future
