I reverted back to stock hoping for an update since 4.3 is coming out, then checked for updates and phone updated to JZO54K.L900VPAMA7. Now it says my phone is already up to date and it wont even update to MC2. Any suggestions? Phone is now stock, unrooted with stock bootloader.

Did you try going to settings> applications> Google services framework> clear data
Then re checking for updates?
I've installed Cyanogenmod the day before yesterday and today I realize the baseband is still the same MA7, would try with kies and return to original firmware.

I think my phone was updated to the newest version from the OTA update....
Can someone post all system info so I can check it out??
go to settings and look for about phone and software info and look at the softwarennumber if u updated it will say 1.32.651.6
My phone still on 1.32.651.1, but when I search for update, it said no update.
Where did you search? via the Android settings program or the HTC thing?

Is your phone rooted? When my phone was rooted it did not find the update, although maybe the timing was coincidental. I went back to stock and then was able to find the update.

its not a firmwar update its a htc update
im on sense 3.0
ugh, any reason for the thread necro?
plz post in proper section: q&a
i like how it goes from 6/4/2010 to just bam today after a whole year it finally gets resurrected haha
Right now my evo is stuck on the original .1 software. When go to firmware update and htc software update it does not show that any updates are available. The only thing I have done to my phone is used unrevoked. What is the best way to get the .6 OTA update. I know I could go through the rooting process and do it that way, but I don't want to wipe my phone and would just like to do the regular update. Thanks for the help

Reboot and do not unrevoke and try to update.
If that doesn't work, *2

I just rebooted and went directly to software update and it still is not finding the .6 update. I work for sprint and I tried checking for an update on one of our demo phones and it did the same thing, so that rules out it being related to unrevoked.
If I call customer service, all their going to tell me to do is take it to a service center. Any more suggestions?

Would this wipe my phone back to factory?
Hello all,
I had my s3 rooted, and unlocked with stock ROM. And I think I've also freeze my "AT&T Software Update" a while ago, so it was stuck on 4.1.1. Now, I would like to update my firmware to 4.3 or newer, and stay stock. I tried to go to the setting and select Software update, but nothing happen. I've also tried to find that "AT&T Software Update" in Titanium Pro, but have no result. Can anyone point me to the right direction on how I can do it?
Thanks
You can't update if you're rooted
So in order to update you need to unroot or just download the 4.3 firmware and flash thru Odin

You can do a 2-step manual update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 and then to 4.3. Please go to page 300 of the thread below to see my steers to another user on exactly the same issue.

Thanks Larry. That's a really helpful information. One question though, if I do these manual update, am I expecting all data will be gone? Or will it simply update the firmware, and leave everything alone?
Thanks again
Updating to a stock 4.3 ROM will install Knox too. Rooting will trip the Knox counter. If you have no warranty on your phone, this will not be a problem.
lo
You should also know that Knox can sometimes interfere with obtaining root. Once you're on a 4.3 bootloader, you cannot downgrade the bootloader.

I should have mentioned that earlier. Yes, updating can affect all your data so I would advise you first back up your data. You can install Samsung Kies on your phone and use this to back up your data, apps and everything else you want and restore afterwards. Please see also Audit's post. Updating to the latest firmware which is 4.3 could be a one-way trip and will install Knox security on your phone. The update will unroot your phone, restore to factory settings and install stock recovery. If you decide to re-root afterwards, however, there are several ways of doing this.
I got the notification for the update a few days ago, but my phone wont update.
It's currently on 4.4.2 and I'm not certain what version it's trying to update too.
I took a picture of what happens when I try and update it, and I can provide any more info, just ask

It's probably the NJ2 update, if your not completely 100% stock unrooted, it will fail.

Thanks for the quick respond. I rooted it in the past, but I unrooted to update it. Can you point me to any guides that would help me get it back to normal?

Here is the thread for Odin flashable NJ2 tar:

Guys I am at wit's end. I have an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317 with Android 4.3. It is rooted.
Ever since the AT&T OTA 4.4 update came out last June 2014, my phone informs me that "New Software Available" for OTA downloading..I click INSTALL and it starts downloading & installing it, but always fails at about 30% or so.
I'm confused...do I need to first UNROOT the phone back to stock ROM and then do the OTA update to 4.4 and then re-root?
This update keeps popping up all the time and it always fails.
TY!

If you're rooted, then just use titanium backup (or equivalent) to freeze the software update application.
