I'll try and keep this short!
I rooted my one x today. I tried flashing the orio rom with no success.
Luckily I made a backup and am able to restore but I think the kernel is not the stock one I had.
I thought this would be restored as well with the nandroid.
Anyway, I´ve been looking around, and flashed what I believed to be the stock kernel but it just got stuck at the splash screen, so I went back to the tripndroid v006 kernel
I noticed the led flashing red and green when plugged in to my laptops usb. My wifi has error and the phone signal cant connect?
Any help?
You need to flash the boot.img within the nandroid backup.
If you boot into recovery, mount usb storage (under the storage options). This will let you access the internal memory. Look for clockworkmod and find your nandroid backup.
Extract the boot.img and flash that in fastboot.
That should get you back up and running hopefully

Thanks a million mate, I'll give it a go now.
Ok I am using TWRP and there is three files in the nandroid backup, one of them is boot.emmc.win, is that where the boot.img is? How do I extract it?

No need to extract it, just flash it as it is with the same name
Fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win

What do you mean by that .... Where do you choose the .img file
You have to flash the boot.win file from the pc to the phone that is in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode !

HA, Now you get the thread title? lol I´m using Hasoon2000's toolkit, I boot into bootloader, select flash a kernel, and it opens the browse dialog but only allowing me to select .img type files not .win type files.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I realize this is nonsense for most people on here.
Try this then
http://db.tt/ldx3qOOU
Copy these files on the pc
C:\fastboot\files from my link
Then copy the .win boot image to that folder
Now open a command print inside the fastboot folder, right click inside the folder and oke. Cmd prompt then put the phone in bootloader/fastboot usb mode and type the commands to flash the .win file like i said in the earlier post

You lost me here
You made a folder on the pc and if you put your arrow in the folder and right click it .....
Wait my mistake
Hold shift and right click inside the folder it should say something in the list like open commandprompt here . The picture is in dutch .... Hope it makes sense
Haha if that doesn't make sense...
copy your .win file to the fastboot folder and then copy the whole folder to your c:\ drive
Then open Command Prompt. (Win XP: Click start -> run -> type "cmd" ; Win 7: Click start -> type "cmd" ; Win 8: press windows key+Q -> type "cmd")
A black box should appear.
Turn off your phone. Then turn it on by holding volume down and power at the same time. You will be taken to the bootloader screen.
press volume down to highlight "fastboot" -> press power to select.
connect your phone to your computer
Type (without the quotes):
cd c:\fastboot (press enter)
fastboot erase cache (press enter)
fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win (press enter)
fastboot reboot (press enter)
Your phone will restart and that should be it
Once again, I´m afraid not. I´m using windows xp which appears to not have this option.
I have read in another thread that the boot.emmc.win file I have can be renamed to boot.img and then flashed, what do you think?

Hi all,
I think my friend and i bricked his phone last night.
Its the HTC one x and we used the Hasoon2000 method. I think the problem was the perm root part of the software said unable to connect to device.
I searched around and someone said to flash supersu and that should do it. However after flashing that we did a backup of the phone in clockwork recovery.
We then tried flashing the viperX rom which we did on another one X and worked fine, it got to 1% and restarted. It then stuck at the quietly brilliant page.
We can't get it to boot into recovery but can get it to go to the bootloader. We tried to do the fastboot command from the PC to erase fastboot cache but it couldnt connect to the device.
I have read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764421 and but it is about the AT&T version, what recovery image would i need?
Also how can i tell if it is hard bricked or soft bricked? As i'm worried it could be hard bricked cause i couldnt erase the fastboot cache.
Any help is appreciated, and sorry if this is answered somewhere else but i couldnt see an answer.
Bit more bootloader info:
Unlocked
S-On
Hboot 1.39.0000
If possible i'd like to help my friend finish rooting it but if its easier put it back to normal.
Again thanks if anyone can help me.
What does the bootloader say, EVITA or ENDEAVORU ?
It says endeavoru
Then stay away from the HTC one XL forum, its a different phone !!!

Is it possible for you to turn the phone off?
IF so it should charge a bit quicker that way
Also just to clarify, how did you try to install Viper X on your phone?
Hmm no, if its bootlooping then yes. Is the bootloader unkocked and do you have a custom recovery installed yet ?
In case you have a custom recovery installed put the phone in the recovery it will charge the batt in there .....
Otherwise put the phone in the bootloader and run this file from within the fastboot folder
http://db.tt/aLqeTpPO
It will continuously reboot the phone and charge it little by little, leave it like this for an hour or so.
No, if i go into bootloader and fastboot then power down it turns itself back on if its plugged in.

The bootloader says unlocked, and we had CWM recovery installed it no longer loads up, it just reboots itself.
I'm confused by what you mean, what command would i use to run that file from the fastboot folder and after doing that do you mean i should leave it charging from the laptop?
Link to image of the bootloader if this helps - http://imgbin.org/index.php?page=image&id=11217
Just connect the phone to the pc and put the phone in the bootloader then execute the .bat file from the fastboot folder (download it and move it in there)
It should start rebooting the phone over and over again.
Edit : I see fastboot usb in the bootloader that's good !
We need to get the batt charged so we can reflash the recovery, that will probably solve it all.

Rename it to recovery.img and Copy the file in the fastboot folder. Put the phone in the bootloader again and flash the recovery

I need very SERIOUS help. It's my first time to try to flash my HTC One X. I downloaded all necessary files and proceed to follow below instructions on how to install CM10 on my phone.
The problem is (I know this is very stupid) I forgot to copy the CM10 zip file to my phone's internal storage. I thought I did it already but I only realized that I didn't when I was on Step 14 already. Now I cannot access my phone's internal storage and my phone won't boot anymore. Please help.
1.Copy the CM10 ZIP file to your phone’s internal SD card.
2.On the PC, extract the Fasboot.zip. You will get a folder named Fastboot.
3.Extract the boot.img file from the cm10_endeavoru-ota-eng.noeri-028.zip file and place it into the Fastboot folder.
4.Turn your phone off.
5.Boot to Fastboot Mode. Hold down the Volume Down and the Power buttons until the screen turns on to enter Bootloader Mode.
6.In Bootloader Mode, highlight Fastboot Mode using the Volume keys and select it by using the Power button.
7.Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
8.Open a command prompt on your PC and navigate it to the Fastboot folder.
9.In the command prompt, type fastboot devices to check if your device has successfully connected to your PC. Your phone’s serial number should appear on the screen.
10.Flash the boot.img by typing the following in the command prompt:◦fastboot flash boot boot.img
11.Go back to your phone and select Bootloader to go back to the main Bootloader menu.
12.In Bootloader Mode, highlight Recovery using the Volume keys and select it by using the Power button to boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
13.Select Wipe data/factory reset > Yes.
14.Select Install ZIP from SD card > Choose ZIP from SD card > select the cm10_endeavoru-ota-eng.noeri-028.zip file > Yes.
15.Select Go back > Reboot system now.

I have a problem with WiFi though, but I think it's another topic. Won't hurt if you can help also. LOL

So as stated, this is a totally different issue and should be resolved in the relevant thread !!

Hi Everyone,
I was trying to install the vemon viper x 3.3.6 (Im kind of new to flashing rom onto phones) onto my htc one x and had to update my hboot from 0.98 to 1.31 which i did with JBW tool and worked perfect and i unlocked my bootloader again but wen i was finished unlocking my bootloader i accendently factory reset my phone so it removed the vemon viper x 3.3.6 zip folder off my phone and cant run my old rom which is the vemon viper x 2.7 as it isnt a jellybean rom. So when i start my phone it loads the rom but doesn't boot. All i can get into is my hboot. My htc one x is s-on as well. Please any help would be great.

enter the bootloader by pressing volume - and the power button together as long as you are in the bootloader, do not let go before that.....then navigate to HBOOT - RECOVERY. it boots to recovery and activate the mount as mass storage device in the mounts and storage section (if you have CWM) if you get an error by doing that i suggest you flash the latest CWM recovery 5.8.4.0 first. older ones dont have this option !

That notification is normal, we all have that due to the usb cable being connected !
Did you install the rom with the cable connected ? That's a no go......always install a rom without the usb connected ! First put the phone into the bootloader, hold power and volume - until you are in. Then the fastboot command
Fastboot erase cache
From this point you disconnect the cable. enter the recovery and re-install the viper rom again.

Hi,
I am trying to install this rom legacy xperia 4.2.2 But I am stuck at flashing kernel
The tool is flashtool as you can see in picture
http://www.uppic.org/share-AA2F_520F170B.html
When I click select kernel to flash, it doesnt do anything and the red text says error...
Don't use flashtool, try using fastboot.exe instead.
Place the kernel in the same directory as fastboot.exe, press shift and right click on the directory and click "open command window here"
Then type they following into cmd:
fastboot devices
Confirm you see at least one device there, it will appear as a jumbled set of numbers and letters followed by the word fastboot. That will be your device.
After that, type this into cmd:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If done correctly, it will say boot.img sent or something, it will definitely show some kind of success.
You can disconnect your phone now, boot it up and press vol down when you see a blue flash. This will bring you into CWM recovery.
From there, select install zip -> choose from SD card -> ROM zip
Flash it and reboot, you should have CM10.1 running on your phone now.
P.S this should be in Q&A section instead of general.

Flashtool works. You just have to learn how to use it, like connecting phone in fastboot mode before selecting any fastboot options in flashtool
