Hi guys,
I'm having an issue when using dock mode and official speaker dock in sense 5, the phones volume rocker brings up the volume slider onscreen but it will not adjust (just stays at full) it's definitely a bug, the speaker dock itself does have volume buttons but it's only 3 steps so the lowest volume is way too high especially at night. On 4.1.1 I could use the speaker dock volume and the phone system volume together to get the perfect volume for my needs.
Does anyone know of a solution to this or know which files are responsible and if they can be replaced with files from 4.1.1?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am rooted with a custom Rom and have tried all the sense 5 roms including mike1986 & reLlabtoofer and still the same, it's a bug in the HTC code somewhere.
If anyone can help with this it would be amazing, cheers

Hello
I have Dock station and HTC ONE X.
Get the same issue like above - simply, connect to dock and have max media volume and stuck. SOOOO annoying...
Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=opotech.finevolumev2&hl=pl
It's change driver of sound. It's work! (To be sure check Settings->Advanced settings -> UNCHECK API VOLUME ... because it create some issue and noises... its check by default)
Have a nice day!
And sorry why so long.. but..it's HTC ONE X. It's good phone and work well so loong
Thanks mate I'll check it out.
It works, but every time there is a need for lower volume after putting phone in a dock.
There is an option to automatically set lower volume when placing phone in dock?

Hi, i wondered if someone here can help me with my htc desire, i purchased it like this by the way. When i insert the battery and power the device it goes straight into bootloader mode but im unable to select the options using the volume button, is there a way to exit this mode? or is it possible i can use the volume keys of the handsfree headset (i dont have) in case the phones volume buttons are faulty?
Here below is a pic ive taken:

Your input would be highly appreciated, thanks!
Have you removed battery and try booting up again?

hi, yes i have, as soon as i put the battery in and press power it automatically goes into bootloader mode without even holding the back key, which is puzzling..
Did you buy it from a shop? Take it back if so. Is there any movement in the volume buttons or ate they stuck down?

It could be that it has water damage and that is causing the volume down to be pressed by itself all the time..
i compared the volume buttons with a working desire and they feel exactly the same
Is this a new phone?
If so - return it.
This happened to my phone too, which was bought new. Looking around it does appear to be a hardware problem and needs to be sent back for repair/replacement.
Hi all,
Is there any clever way of waking up the HOX from standby using the better positioned buttons like volume up/down, home button etc?
Not interested in any of the apps that activate by shaking or moving phone as I fear it will activate too often in my pocket etc.
Regards, Jens
U should try a custom rom like viper rom
It has alot of tweaks but volume wake up
Not working in deep sleep
For me i use viper rom & custom kernel to use s2wake :thumbup:

i use an app called awesome on off. you wake the phone by picking it up at a specific angle (you can choose the angle from a list). i set it to 80 degrees and then carry it around upside down if in a pocket so it won't activate on its own.

If your bootloader is unlocked, your can try CM10 / RD-MIUI which have this feature.
There should be many other custom ROMs with this feature also, but definitely not ARHD.
Give a search for sweep2wake a wonderful feature which works on ARHD perfectly with custom kernels (I use Faux 12b1). Less the hardware button is pressed more the longivity of the device (telling from a bitter past experience)
Also ARHD with Suite Tools has an option of Vol +/- wake feature.
Suite tools isn't available yet on JB. I want swipe wakeup features also
Hello,
my biggest annoyance with all recent Samsung phones (S3,S4, Note II) is whenever you pass the phone over to someone - to show a video/pic/website - the oversensitive hardware on/off button will be pressed accidentally 95% of the times. This holds also true for the sensible volume rocker, but having to turn on the phone again, unlocking it, going to the app and selecting your video or photo again is really obnoxious.
A solution like
- a widget
or
- a switch in the pull down menu
that turns the hardware buttons on and off would be perfect.
Appreciate any help or advice,
Andy
One possible solution for now, a bumper or a case
It helps, as it makes the buttons deeper.

Hey all this is my first post on XDA and want to say it's an awesome site,
I recently rooted my Galaxy S4 M919 and flashed the Wicked v8 rom on my stock rom without cleaning just installed right on top of it, don't know if it's a good thing or not.
Anyways I noticed the volume keys are not working during screenlock. I have to press the home button ( screen light comes on) then the volume keys start working again.
Am I missing something? Help please.

Well I suggest you do a FULL wipe clean install. My volume button work just fine with screen off. You could also set extra function in Wicked ROM Control app such as track forward and back ect.

Have you opened the "wicked control" and looked at all the options there yet?
I am almost certain that there is an option there to do exactly what you want,
using volume rockers to change volume.
Check it out, there are a lot of neat options in the Wicked Control.
Good luck!
Volume up/down should just work with no adjustment of settings.
Wicked Rom control let you set "long press" of the volume buttons.
Thanks guys for the speedy solutions. Minus the wipe everything (!)
The problem occured due to the volume key controls were disabled in the Wicked control panel.
Turned it on, it is working as expected.
Do you mean having the ability to increase/decrease music or phone call volumes while the screen is off? I can't do this with any of the Wicked ROMs, and the Wicked Rom control doesn't affect this (at least on my phone) whether using the phone's volume buttons or the volume controls on the stock Samsung headphones. The "end call" button on the headphones works, but not volume. This is a fairly small thing, but my biggest issue with the otherwise excellent Wicked ROMs.
I increase the volume all the time with the phone turned off and Pandora running in the background.

I looked everywhere for an answer and tried it ALL. from cleaning the jackport, reboot, restore to fabric options, and many more, but none of them worked! However, as I was trying not to go crazy trying so many weird things on my new not properly working tablet, I accidentally found the solution!!! why it works I don't know, but it does so here it goes:
1. Turn device off
2. Make sure your headphones are plugged ALL the way in (you should hear a click sound)
3. Press the on/off button and the volume up button at the SAME TIME
4. Once the screen is on let the on/off button go
5. DO NOT let the volume up button go
6. Wait until the tablet has finished loading all settings up.
7. Let volume up button go.
Problem should be fixed now. Enjoy

Didn't work for me. Still have to listen at 13 at min to be at a reasonable level. Mostly need 15. I had headphones clicked all the way in, held power/volume up at the same time and released power as soon as screen came on with Samsung logo, let go of volume up when my lock screen came up. Anything I missed?
