hi
first of all this thread is only for developers.. and the files here are under development and not yet working
I search every where regarding wifi-direct
and i found 100% it is software issue, and the SGSI hardware is compatible to run this feature
then i started the journey on SGSII and I found all the files needed to run wifi direct
it is complicated a little bit to list all the files here
but i will when needed
i modify values (public,string,ids,layout)
layout
drawable
drawable-hdpi
androidmanifest
XML
and added smali files needed
then compile ,,,
when test on device the setting icon itself doesn't appear !
and i think it is an android-manifest issue !
so i decided after 3 weeks of hard working to share with developers to help in this issue so we may get the way to do it
the modded setting file is for JVR 2.3.4 ROM
and it is here
http://www.multiupload.com/VA5LELQF8P
so any help would be grait

the good news that there are nothing important in framework.jar
Maybe you can work with zohawkish, he is doing a SGS2 rom port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032599
this is must be done be all developers together

I'm sorry I am not a developer but I'm wondering why there is so little apparent enthusiasm for this thread?
I've been using the SGS2 for a couple of months now and Wifi Direct just blows me away. I only know one other person with an SGS2 but I can send him megabytes in the blink of an eye.
Samsung dropped the ball by advertising that the SGS had bluetooth 3.0 capability but neglecting to mention that Android doesn't support bluetooth 3.
For wifi direct a bluetooth chip and an N capable wifi chip are required and if I'm not wrong and the Galaxy S has both of these.
Developers should be absolutely striving to unlock the potential of wifi direct in this device. I don't even have an i9000 anymore but the thoughts of being able to do fast file transfers with my buddies who do is my motivation for bumping this post.
It would be a very worthwhile and rewarding achievement, not just for i9000 users but for anyone with a wifi direct device because the proliferation of wifi direct is essential in making it the exciting giant step forward it could and should be.
Thank you juffo for all your hard work in this area.

can u share bin files after modding ?
You should look here, wifi direct seems to be perfectly working on Galaxy S : http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/70131-tuto-le-wi-fi-direct-cest-possible/
EDIT : I forgot to mention, it's in french ^^
He is using an app though (Wifi Cast Lite) - maybe thats all thats needed?

this wont work between wifi cast & wifi direct
it will work only between devices that holds the same app
OH MY GOD,
i never use this line but i think wifi direct on the sgs would be a good time to use it ^^
this would be so awesome and it should definatly be investigated by all developers here ^^
i'm not a developer either but i want to bump this post because this should not be forgotten
all my thanks to the developers already trying to get this working
here is a link for "wifi cast lite" which ,however, emulates wifi direct or something like that ^^
tut for testing <bt and wlan has to be enabled> :
install wifi cast on two devices which are ready for wifi direct but dont open
then activate wifi ap on one of this devices
open wifi cast on this device and configure your ap
open wifi cast on the other device and login to the ap of the first device
now you can transfer big files -100mb+- in just some minutes ^^
this app was shown on ces 2011 and was developed by lg if i understood everything correctly
i also read that the sgs is the first wifi direct certified smartphone ^^
http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/...irst-ever-smartphone-to-do-wi-fi-direct/?wap2
edit: definatly certified
http://certifications.wi-fi.org/pdf_certificate.php?cid=WFA8921
maybe this app helps to understand how it is done and how to get this implemented into a rom
I think there is a dedicated app for Wifi Direct on SGS II. Have you tried using that?
EDIT: I think Kernel Changes are required to get this to work.
I will try wifi cast lite later today and then i will report ^^
had no luck today because there wasn't the possibility to test it.
excuse this bump but i don't want to let this thread die ...
tested wifi cast today and wooooow, its awesome bluetooth with the speed of wlan ^^ tested between gt-i9000 and gt-i9100
Hello all,
I was wandering if anybody had gotten to making a Wifi Calling package for those of us that have the international 7100 version or so? Back on the Leo someone had created a package (HERE) for us that turned out to be quite useful, especially for heavy modders. Maybe my searches are missing it (can't seem to isolate "wifi calling" directly), if anyone can offer up some info.
Thanks,
Demon
I'm looking for this exact same feature for my N7100 as I moved to TMobile few days ago. I've read somewhere that one could flash a tmobile rom without flashing the radio therby retaining the N7100's original radio. Not all ROM's offer the option to exclude the radio flash. Wondering how I can achieve that?
---I know this post is a year old but thought it might be useful to post in the same thread as I didn't find any.
Now that Samsung Pay is out there beta testing. Anyway we can get a hold of the APK?
It's already in the latest leak I believe
That's just a base layer for the framework. It will be here soon enough though
Will be released around August with Note 5 and S6edge plus intro.

Last statement was for a September release. Do you have a source or are you just assuming Samsung Pay will be released with Note 5?
S6 Edge
I've found the link to be able to download the Samsung Pay Beta .apk file but I haven't figured out how to get it to install. Does someone else want to try? I'm stuck on a Samsung S6 Edge running 5.0.2. I wonder if you have to have 5.1.1 to run it.
Korea Link - https://kr.mpay.samsung.com/apk
US Link - https://us.mpay.samsung.com/apk
I'm going to try and get into the beta
The link looks dead. Can you post the apk?
Strike that. I got the KR to download but it doesn't do anything.
Here's a download link for the Samsung Pay .apk file I found on the Korean link. It lets me install it on my Samsung S6 Edge+ running android 5.1.1.

Some people have reported being able to get to the start screen and some graphics. I can't even get it to open.
Do a full unroot in superuser and this is wet you get.
Knox not ticked but custom bootloader installed.
So now the question becomes...can someone develop a workaround to Samsung Pay that will allow it to work with a rooted/tripped knox device. I am sure there is someone on this forum that has that ability.

We might need to find another app that has been modified and ask the dev there if they would be willing to work on this one. Who did the google wallet work arounds back in the day?
It'd probably be good to start a bounty too.

How do you start a bounty? As you can see I am new to the forum. Not sure about the GW app. But I like the idea!
I was able to install the apk using the Korean link and got to the main screen. I guess your Samsung account has to be activated by Samsung in order to go past it (see screenshot....maybe they will remove this restriction after the actual go-live in Sep). I noticed that Samsung Pay is not showing under 'Tap and Pay'. Not sure if it's just me or everyone here?
I signed up for the beta while the US link was up but I never got a response back from Samsung. I have attached a screenshot of the beta confirmation page. I removed the email address due to Samsung's 'strict' policies that I had to agree to before getting to the final page. Since I have not heard back from them I am now a little concerned if they are going to put any restriction on my Samsung account because I was not 'invited' for the beta but found the link and signed up for it.
I have been following Samsung Pay from the time it was announced. If it proves to be what it is, it clearly can be a game changer and the first platform to have a significant impact on mobile payments. Pretty exciting.
I read somewhere that US Beta begins 8/25, so the US URL might be activated again soon!

I called today and they told me to download the Samsung Plus app from the Google playstore. I downloaded it agreed to the terms and logged in and then inside the app there was a link that said "Join Samsung Pay Beta". So far it doesn't do anything, but it seems promising that it might work tomorrow after the beta has officially begun.

I signed up for the beta but never got a response from them. I was not able to see 'join Samsung Pay Beta' link under Samsung+ as you mentioned. Maybe it detects the model number and shows up only for S6 Edge+ and Note 5. I am not sure if you already have Samsung Pay installed on your phone, if not, can you try installing it using the Korean link and see if it works for you?
I had it already installed from the Korean link. However, it still doesn't let me login. I'm stuck on the start screen.
So I just talked with a Samsung Pay Rep. She advised me that the only Carrier in the US right now that has rolled out the update to support Samsung Pay is Sprint. T-Mobile is slated to release their update before the 1st of Sept. But until this update hits our phones the Samsung Pay will not run or function because the hardware in the device is not activated. So it doesn't matter what version of the app you download or where you go to sign up for the beta, we have to wait for T-Mobile to push the update.
She also advised me that if you have the Samsung+ app, and the update the T-Mobile will be pushing out, you can enroll in Samsung pay Beta and being using it right away.
Hope this helps answer some questions for you guy!

Go into settings -> apps -> open the carrier apps or any other app you wouldn't use and disable them one by one ... be careful not to disable system apps...
Hope this helps...
Get Package Disabler Pro for Samsung on the app store. You won't be able to disable a lot of the bloatware with only using the system settings.
The only issue is that using the default block list on the Package Disabler, Samsung Pay secure keypad won't work. Also make sure Samsung Push Service is not disabled or Samsung Backup won't work.
Thanks much!
Hello everyone,
Any idea on how to change the CSC of Galaxy Watch 5 models (incl. SM-R925). It appears that Samsung has blocked *#272*719434266344# or *#272*IMEI# methods to change the CSC. And it doesn't appear any stock firmware to be available yet to flash it with NetOdin.
For reference, LTE network on the new Galaxy Watches is regionally locked. Meaning, if you buy the US version of Galaxy Watch 5 LTE model, it is unlikely you could activate it on networks outside of the US, including Canadian carriers. Unless, you somehow change its CSC and region. ( Carrier service cannot be activated outside of the United States on a watch sold for use in the United States. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00082122/#:~:text=Activate service,-When you connect&text=Note: Carrier service cannot be,a phone to activate service. )
Any hints or clues on how to change the CSC would be appreciated?

You are right. There was not a specific section for GW5.
p.s. Thanks for your reply with the suggested workaround, but as mentioned, the method of *#272*...# does not work anymore on GW5.
Hi @dad6534
I also have a Watch5 Pro. I noticed that on the Galaxy phones the CSC code change was disabled at the Phone Dialer app. If you download the google phone app you can still change the CSC. So, it should be possible to get an old Dialer APK for Watch 4 before the update that disabled the CSC change. I've been trying to find an old version of it, but I coulnd't find any Wear OS apk repo.

I tried but to no avail. The app instantly crashes.
My hate for samsung can not be understated. Why make the effort to lock down every possible way of circumventing these stupid region locks? I'm just trying to use google wallet man. I can't even use samsung pay for some odd reason even though I bought my watch in Korea.
I have the GW5 Pro (Bluetooh) but is from Panama... There are many apps that not work.. I have tried a lot of procedure to change the CSC but is not working. Every time that I tried something I need to configure again, and again and again
