[Q] 4.4 kitkat - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I installed the new 4.4 Kitkat on my t999 s3. Love it!
Everything for me is working great except the sd ext. And since I'm new I cant even post in the development side to ask about a fix. Anyone know if this has a fix?

first, in the future, ask questions in Q&A.
what size is your sdcard? if its a 32/64gb, make sure it is formatted as fat32, NOT exFat. did you use the "search this thread" function to see if anyone else reported similar issues in the rom thread?

Sorry about posting in the wrong area.
sd card is a 16gb gonna check but I have used it with every rom I have installed and pretty sure its fat32.
Did search and appears to be a problem with the rom. And fix looks to be using different code in the next build, I was just hoping that maybe someone else had same problem and found a simple fix.

You could try a different kernel. Hopefully that may fix it. What's the Rom ?

[4.4] CM 11 Unofficial - RLS1 11-14-13

Loving everything about it other than the lack of sd ext

Try KT747 latest with that rom. Don't hold your breath as its a ROM issue.

i will really like to try out this rom, but i can't find a way to install the new cwm recovery.
n my TWRP doesn't work with this rom.
anyone got any suggestions?

I don't understand why you can't get cwm to install.

How do I install a CWM Touch that is linked in your sig?
Do I just go to the current recovery and choose the new zip and install?

No you use PC based ODIN or Odin Mobile to flash these .tar.md5 files.

Paranoidandroid lockscreen issue: no keyboard to unlock htc evo 4g

The title of this post sums it up. I have flashed the paranoidandroid on my htc evo 4g following the instructions perfectly. Everything works, but when I create a PIN for locking the screen and try to unlock, I just see a place to enter the PIN but no keyboard. Has anyone faced the same issue? I would love to use this ROM if anyone can help me with fixing this issue. Thanks in advance.
Anyone there with the same issue?
Please post if you have the same issue or a solution to this.
I would try and re-flash the ROM and see if that fixes it. Also post in the thread for that particular ROM and see if anybody else has had the same problem as you.

I did flash it several times in hope of getting it to work at least once. I did wipe everything and re-partitioned the sd card before every flash. As I am a new member, I am not allowed to post in the Paranoidandroid developer forum.

You didn't by chance flash a Gapps package on top of it, did you? I did that once in another ROM that had them built in and got the same thing. Unlikely, but thought I'd toss it out there.

I thought one needs to flash gapps with Paranoid Android ROM. I will check that one more time.
I moved on to Galaxy S3. Reinstalled stock OTA on the HTC Evo 4g.

You should start at the ns4g modem thread..... everything you've asked here is answered there... except maybe going back to cllean gb... if on an ns4g modem you won't be able to run any tw roms with it... but you can flash back to an epic modem pretty easily...
And I do believe that JB partitions different than other MTD ROMS and an Odin would be required to go backwards.

If you can type a response, you can type in the search box.
Or you could go look in development for the thread labeled NS4G modem patch. It's been in the top 10 for at least 2 weeks.
Or you could go here:

Which I linked from (gasp) my mobile device!

Seriously... your phone doesn't have google??? And just so you know... I don't even own a computer right now, so that's no excuse... I do all my posting and searching right from the trusty old epic 4g....
I installed the Nexus S 4G modem on CM9.1 using CWM5. It was a two-step process: install actual radio from .zip and then apply a patch to CM9.1 from .zip.
The KL2 radio is attached--I downloaded it from the Nexus S' forums, I think. The patch was available from the Epic Dev forum. The thread with the CM9.1 patch also had patches for other MTD ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842037
When in doubt, restoring a CWM flash backup and using Odin to reinstall a Samsung modem returns you back to square one.
Today is my second day on the NS4G KL2 radio. With EC05/FC09 and CM7, the GPS was flaky and often refused to lock but battery life was stellar: with CM9, GPS just flat didn't work and the radios sucked the battery >5% an hour on idle. With KL2, GPS locks in the same indoor location within 5 seconds and the battery usage looks equivalent to CM7's, which for me was the best of all ROMs for battery life.

Well, things haven't really *changed*. The initial warning to use ODIN was just to be safe. But I ran through all the scenarios this morning to see what would happen and determine an easier solution.

ROM suggestion and radio question

Ok so I used to use a ROM called black bean on the evolte and it essentially a blacked out version of cyanogen mod. Is there a similar romantic for the sprint GS3. Side note do all cyanogen mod based roms not have access to the SD card?
Also I would like to update to the latest radio but would like to know if there are radio files I can flash from either recovery or from bootloader on the phone.

Yes download to SD card and install from CWM Recovery. Simple as that. Then restart your phone and youre done. If you need help. Just PM me.

[Q] Help flashing via CWM

I've had my Gs3 for about 4 months and love it. I recently deiced to root the it and flash the CM 11 Unofficial rom to the phone. While trying to install from clockwork I receive a message saying ""This Package is for "d2tmo" devices; this is a "d2spr". Aborting (Status 7)". I've been flashing for years and never had a problem. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
If anyone is wondering the model number is SGH-T999. A T-mobile S3.
You are using a d2spr recovery.

Which would I download and how would I apply it? I'm a noob when it comes to Gs3
flash the .tar or .tar.md5 files in odin, or .zip in cwm/twrp if you already have one installed.
i do highly recommend you stop and take some extra time to read our stickied threads, and search for more info on flashing and everything else. (searching noob/newb guides on xda is a good plsce to start).
you will be glad you did, and you will end up with most of your answers before even asking the questions. which is exactly what is expected of anyone before they just jump in.
we dont mind helping you along the way, but only if you are trying to help yourself and dont become one of those people who expect us to walk you through every single step.
if theres something you dont understand, or genuinely cant find the answer, then by all means, ask for help/clarification. good luck!

Simply back up your apps with Titanium Backup, and put your contacts on your SIM card if you haven't already. Everything on the internal SD card isn't erased after a factory reset (in TWRP anyway, not sure about CWM), so you don't have to worry about pictures or stuff.
EDIT: I guess dual booting IS possible. I stand corrected.
Use the built in import/export function for contacts as well.
You can dual boot with a modified recovery...

Well dual booting is essentially what you described (which means the name is a bit misleasing), but it seems to only be possible on the international version from my research.
