Hey, my phone died and I put it on my charger before I left to run to the store. When I came back, the phone was RIDICULOUSLY hot and it prompted on the screen "Charging temporarily stopped due to high temperature." I unplugged the phone, cooled it off with a frozen pack of Bacon (bacon is good for ANYTHING Lol) and powered it back on and plugged it into the charger. I plugged the charger into a different socket because I'm pretty sure the socket I was in was overheating my phone. Well, that mixed with the fact that I had on an Otterbox and it was sitting on a microfiber couch Lol. I'm currently on the stock ROM over clocked to 1.7

GHz and such. My question is this: has anyone else experienced this and could it have caused permanent damage? Everything seems to be fine now and my battery temp is at a cool 91.7°.

Well then..just run it like you stole it! It's happened to a few people but I haven't heard if its caused long term effects. The otterbox shouldn't contribute much to the heat.

Ok I called powermat and asked about wireless charging for the Dinc, they had the balls to tell me that they had no plans to make a kit for the Dinc! I know that Duracell makes the mygrid and I have heard of people using the Droid charger on the Dinc, wanted to know if anybody on here has or if anybody else feels like me..
It sucks but its not a popular enough phone for them... He was just being honest instead of giving a round about answer

I'm not sureifnot popular enough is the right phrase. As this phone was impossible to get for fivemonths its probably a little behind on accessories like this.

Well i mean the phone was massively popular for a bit then a lot of people myself included just didnt wanna wait to get the phone and i know a bunch of my friends got other droids instead.

lol and well this is the exact reason we don't have any nice accessories which is very unfortunate....but it's stupid cuz I'd absolutely love this

Easy answer: Supply and demand.
I like the idea of wireless charging but I don't like having to switch cases every time.

lol if they did make it, wouldn't you just keep that case on it? or are they made not to handle the abuse?

I'm guessing it wouldn't be exceptionally durable. I use a Case-mate Tough Case because I'm so careless.

Quick question, I've got a bricked evo that I have'nt touched in months. The battery has been useless inside the phone's box since then but a couple of days ago I noticed the battery looks like it expanded or exploded from the inside. Any idea of what could of caused this?
Very curious.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
If it was never charged for a while and left on a cool environment I would say that the battery was just bad, if you had it on a hot place like on the glove compartment inside your car then it overheated. Either way I hope you discard it.
Any lump on a battery means you need to dispose of it..I've heard of some crazy stuff lol.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Dispose of it immediately. If you try to use it or charge it, it will likely explode.
Oh I would never attempt to use it again, I was just a little curious as to why this would happen. Thanks all!

Pouring salt water on mine has not only allowed it to run cooler throughout the day but also allowed me to run at 2.8ghz. Thanks!

I prefer to dunk it in water, much better at cooling :good:
Salt water didn't work well for me. I used distilled water with ice. Works very well; plus it is cleaner

Guys.. I did what you guys suggested, but my phone didn't perform any better.
I guess the overheating problem is solved because the phone doesn't even turn on anymore!
What do I do now? /:
.. lol.
I went straight to Antifreeze to help with heat soak..
On a serious note. After an Hour of HEAVY use i can feel my Hot phone through my Otterbox Commuter.. Doesnt scare me. Ive had my HTC Sensation over 130* F and it still held up...
Will distilled/deionized water actually damage the phone? Serious q.

Short answer is no. It is however easy to taint the water if not in a closed loop. This also assumes there is no aluminum and copper mixing.
Gotta love home made water cooling gone wrong.... Dun dun dunnnnn!

While charging the phone does it seem like the micro USB charger just seem to fall out
Yup mine does it too, just takes a light tug and it falls out.
Mines actually pretty snug. Doesn't seen to move much at all on me
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I think you are just not putting it in all the way... with mine if I put it in softly it just falls out, but a little beyond that it feels like you are just going to go through the phone but it's like a second layer of safety

Hey guys I spilled some apple juice on my phone (I know I'm pissed to) but now my accelerometer works sometimes like ill boot the phone and it will work fine then nothing from another reboot. Its weird. Any ideas?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Probably got wet on the board. Shorted something out. I see this happen all the time at work.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Crap thats what i thought. Why is it working on and off then? I figured of it shorted out it would be dead for good (the accelerometer i guess). You think if i take the phone apart and clean up the board I might revive it?

Clean it with some high percentage alcohol, I think its over 91% with a toothbrush after you take it apart. I've seen it work miracles.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Me too. I usually use cotton swabs, alcohol, and canned air. Ill give it a go at work tomorrow. Any good guides on how to take this thing apart

It's probably working until it gets hot enough to expand and then breaks the circuit.

Spend the 20 bucks or so on the kit from Radio Shack. The little guitar pick thing makes taking it apart so much easier. Its worth the investment.

Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Well it hasn't been working since last night whether the phone is hot or cold but I'm still going t clean it. I'm hoping just the sticky left over apple juice is causing the short and cleaning it will work it out
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
there is just to much everywere. would it be overkill if I let the mainboard and the case (minus the battery) soak in alcohol for like 10 to 20 minutes and then blow dry them?
Probably
With electronics, usually bute force isnt the name of the game..
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
hmm well I just dabbed little drops of alcohol on the internal parts and were the apple juice was and blew it out with canned, and I'm going to let it dry now for a while before I put it back together.
Alright it is dead the accelerometer and the light sensor are not working even after cleaning. Anybody have a doner phone? Ha ha

If you were careful taking it apart and cleaned it good, you may be able to take it in to Sprint and have it replaced. Idk if there is any litmus paper to show it got wet though.

I already tried they wont let me. but something else that's weird, I thought maybe restoring back to stock might work if its something software related to I tried restoring to zv7 with the link in the IRC using lgnpst and lgnpst is not flashing the bootloader or anything for that matter. any ideas why? I can get the phone in download mode and lgnpst does its regular thing, the phone reboots at 67% like normal, then it sits at the 4g LTE logo on the boot animation until it overheats and shuts off. I tried getting into the bootloader and it will not show it. if I hold vol up+vol down+power, it just goes straight to the boot animation from a cold start.
