I recently had to downgrade my rom so I could use of of the unlocking methods I found here on xda. I went over to sammobile and downloaded the appropriate rom ( android 4.1) for my carrier and phone, I flashed it using mobile odin, turns out it was a rom for a rogers phone even thought the description and even the file ended with BMC and not RWC which indicated it was for bell, any case I unlocked the phone all went back an restored the system image from cwm all was fine till about 24 hours ago when my phone started acting up very glitchy and i decided it was time to to a full clean up and resort the stock rom. I again mobile odin to flash stock but for what ever reason the apps being loded on to the phone are for rogers carrier. I am using I317MVLBMA3_I317MOYABMA3_BMC which by all indication tells me its for bell, so what the hell is going on ? I have downloaded this and flashed it both from mobile odin and from my pc and ever time its a rogers rom. any help would be great.
They're the same roms. All Canadian versions are the same except the system carrier apps included. Your glitches probably happened from something else. Is there any app that you've installed in the last 24 hours or have you done something unusual on your phone in the last 24 hours?

they are for the most part the same roms with minor differences for instance the rogers rom displays a 4g icon where as the bell displays a HSDPA icon or something lol, and also the carrier bloatware is not the same bell has its own bloat, even the browser launches to rogers website. I even removed the bloat with titanium and when i flashed the new rom it came right back so i have no idea why this ghost apk files are coming from.
update, I downloaded the telus firmware and tried to flash that with odin, flashed fine but rogers apps are still there. can not return to bell stock firmware, any help would be great.
Download csc changer from play and set it for bmc whats funny is mine is rogers but when I flash it I get all bell stuff

I'm posting here because more often than not I am running T-Mobile roms. Anyhow, last night I heard about some update/patch att was releasing for 727. So I flashed my nandroid that I had created right after originally rooting my device, so totally stock att rom (with ciq). I then manually checked for update, accepted update, and delayed 1 hour. I spent the next hour flashing stock recovery and searching frantically; to no avail, for said update package on all SD cards. After 1 hour update took place without a problem, although I read many others update attempt had failed. Now with update complete I have new 'ICS style' lockscreen, no ciq (yes att removed), baseband is now I727UCLA3 & build number is 'GINGERBREAD.UCLA3'. So nothing weird yet, however...when I checked my APN out of curiosity I see regular 'ATT PTA', then a 'TETHERING
pcweb.tmobile.com'...
wtf. Is this what is normally listed for T-Mobile tethering apn?
Will post screenshot later.

Hi everyone i am new to this.
Basiclly I have a Galaxy Note 2 LTE and i recently flashed a stock rom of Jelly Bean 4.1.2
My problem is before i flashed it, my startup and shut down was the stock Samsung one and now its the annoying T-mobile one
After flashing it also installed a few T-mobile apps and also T-mobile ringtones. Can someone tell me how to get back to the original Startup animation and also how to remove all this T-mobile crap!
You flashed a T-Mo branded firmware. Flash any unbranded on from sammobile and branded apps and boot logos will revert to sammy ones.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Haha just do what he said and flash a stock firmware.
You can just replace the startup and shutdown animation files if you want. But its easier to just flash an unbranded rom if you don't know what your doing. All your apps and data should stay in place.
Zip included just in case. Ps this zip is not for flashing, do im manually with root explorer Instructions included.
thanks for all the replies.
this rom i flashed wasnt an official UK one and it said nothing about t-mobile. it said i needed an unlocked phone before flashing so was kinda shoked to see the t-mobile logo lol.
so do i just wait for the stock UK rom to come out then???
thanks again
It has already came out

I'd imagine it would be rather odd seeing a network logo on an unlocked phone!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696&highlight=cf+autoroot
Yes, no UK one is out yet for unlocked. I'm waiting for the O2 or unlocked one. But I think it doesn't matter which one you use since it's only the first initial start up screen will come in that particular language, so you could use another countries. I just want to wait Should come out some time this month, if not in a few days.

hi sorry for my bad english.
I installed some custom rom on my phone
but after i installed cleanrom 4.9 ace with setting for rogers (and other canadian carrier) i went back to Bell factory rom 4.1.2 version and i got rogers icon instead of Bell icon.
Fact:
- i did a lot of factory reset (wipe data/cache)
- I downloaded rom from sammobile site
- i have samsung galaxy note 2 (SGH-i317M) from bell
- I used odin to restore to bell's rom
but after many try to revert back to bell official rom i get stuck with rogers icon
Any hint ?
What do you mean by a Rogers Icon? Like when its booting or somewhere in the system?
app icon on lauchpad i mean: 1 number, 1 contact, rogers voice mail etc
I think he means the Rogers Apps that come with the Note 2 when you get it from Rogers.

yes
K well if you are sure you downloaded the correct version then its probably a fault with sammobile uploading the wrong firmware. Try downloading the other Bell one from October 2012 then updating through the official OTA

Ok man u downliaded the wrong firmware. U dl rogers instead of bell. It wont make a difference though. Just delete the Rogers apps with titanium. Or you can do it the hard way and re download the right stock rom and do it again. You need to read more stuff before you flash or you're gonna brick
? http://bit.ly/18WHgY4 ?
already tested with 4.1.1 from sammobile but still like rogers firmware too

Who cares if it has rogers apps. Just delete them. Your phone will function the same and you'll forget in a day or two!

Did u happen to make a Nandroid backup before you flashed a rom? If so restore it and you'll be good to go.
Why do u need to get it repaired?
nope i didn't i know ist stupid but i tried lot of time to do it but it never worked.
in fact it is the only thing i wasnt able to do
I kinda had the same issue but stuck with Bell stock instead of Rogers stock.
This won't work as a proper solution for you since you are sending it to Samsung but I changed the csc files and got the Rogers Apps back but I'm still using the Bell stock firmware.

Root your phone then open playstore search samsung csc. Open the app then choose your carrier from there it will reboot and factory reset your phone to Bell's firmware.

Hi, my girlfriend has a note 2 that was originally from rogers, she has gone over to bell and i was wondering would it be possible to flash the stock bell firmware on her rogers phone or would this end up with some type of damaging effect. any help would be great. her phone is the sgh-i317m
Really, the only difference between the roms is the carrier's apps. Changing roms doesn't improve connections.
What app is she missing? Or what does she hope for by changing? I always go out of my way to remove any carrier branded apps!
There's no advantage to running the bell firmware over the Rogers. Unless you need the bell apps, but those are on the play store anyway.
1] ROGERS • T0LTE-CAN • SLIM 4.3

I find the rogers modem better than bell one
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
The firmware is the same, and so is the modem. What differs between the two is the CSC, carrier specific content. You'd have to check if Fast Dormancy and HD Voice still work, but those are about the only two tweaks that changing CSC might affect.
I don't know for sure about fast dormancy, but HD Voice required a factory reset to activate in some circumstances.
There is a code to change the CSC from another already available on the phone, but I don't remember it off the top of my head (it's been posted on here a few times already). Caution, it does wipe the phone without warning.

If the phone already rooted you don't need to flash firmware again to get Bell's rom. Just go to playstore and install the app from link below. All ypu need to do is change CSC thats all.

Cool thanks I appreciate everyone's help, The main thing i was worried about was flashing different radios and messing that up but since i can just install the bell apps from the play store i see no reason to really mess around with it. thanks
Right. All North American carriers use the latest modem.
Hi, i've been using my S4 since May of this year.. It was originally bought in Canada (rogers) and I have been using it on Tmobile in Las Vegas since May... There were no problems until the other day. Out of now where it stopped working. It does not read sim. I went to the Tmobile store and got a replacement sim but still no luck. The sim works in another phone just fine...
Does anyone why it won't connect to the network? There was an update on my phone about a week ago and i did update it to the latest software.
Very frustrating. hope someone can help.
thanks

The update to 4.3 is the cause of your problems. Your phone is the I337M from Rogers which had the AWS bands enabled. Many people have reported losing their AWS with the update. If you are in an area where T-mobile has 1900Mhz connectivity then you should not be having a problem even with the update.

NOTICE: If you are running/using any AOSP/AOKP/CM/GE/KitKat or any PORTED roms
then the following does NOT apply to you.!!!
Have you tried this:
You can Odin flash the MK2 modem.bin while on any Jellybean Touchwiz 4.2.2 based rom
or ODIN flash it after flashing the Infamous v9, Wicked v9.1, or any M919 MK2 JB based
Touchwiz 4.3 roms. Either way it makes no difference.
What does make a difference is to follow this step by step exactly.
#1: Manually power down the phone by using the power button only.
#2: Start ODIN and put the MODEM.BIN file into ODIN'S PHONE slot.
#3: Put the phone into download mode using the volume down and power button.
#4: Plug the USB cable into the phone and into the computer.
#5: Make sure that ODIN'S [COM:xx] lights up.
#6: Un-Check the Auto-Reboot in ODIN and click START.
#7: After its done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone by using the power button only.
#9: Wait 20 or so seconds before you power on the phone.
After doing this the MK2 baseband should show up in About Device.
Once it displays MK2 you can flash any MK2 JB TW 4.3 custom cwm/twrp zip file roms unless you have
already flashed it before flashing the modem.bin in which case you are done and ready to use the phone.
NOTE: this modem.bin is the official Tmobile M919 MDL radio which is meant to work anywhere in the USA.
Since none of these 4.2.2 & 4.3 custom zip file roms contain radios you are left with the Canadian modem
in your phone. That's why this step by step should work fine for you.
The only thing which may not work perfectly would be LTE because that's a separate radio (non-hlos.bin)
which must be copied from a MDL based Tmobile M919 Jellybean TW official 4.3 or 4.2.2 Odin flash TAR
firmware.
Here is the direct download link for the Tmobile 4.3 M919 MK2 modem.bin:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1g...l89x/modem.bin
Good luck!
