[Q] root boot rom error? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, DrunkDocHoliday here,
now that i have found the right thread............ lets begin. I will try to keep this simple.
1: i baught the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 3 8 inch one, wifi, 3g, etc, 16 gb internal storage, white. SM T11 i think
2: i rooted it the second i got home, with TWRP recovery.
3: (this part is totaly my fault, but not what my question is ) i tryed to put a SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 ROM (Foxhound Rising) onto it to see if it would work, naturally it didnt...
4: a screen came up saying do not disconnect (with a big green android in the background) so i pressed home, volume up and power button, got into the TWRP recovery, and rebooted into a stock recovery save. i thought everything would be ok.....
5: now, when i turn it on, (just pressing the power button, the screen that came up before saying do not disconnect (with a big green android in the background) is now all messed up, screen tearing, pixelating, looks like the static on an old TV with no reception, just static channel) then goes dark after 3 - 5 seconds. boots into samsung logo, and i get to the home screen, but it is laggy, sometimes glitchy..... sometimes automatically powers off.... still no way to clean up the TAB 3....
6: my Question: is there any way that i can get it back to stock everything? (os, apps, data, etc) because my recovery doesnt fix the sluggishness, or the static screen before start up......... what would happen in TWRP recovery if I format everything on internal storage and external storage? erase all apps, data, photos, videos, and os? could i get the samsung TAB 3 stock files somewhere and reinstall them all with odin? please help? !
(I hope this was pretty straight forward...... )
or would I just have to go back to the store where i bought it and have them reinstall the stock?

download stock Firmware from sammobile.com and flashl it with Odin.
Make sure that the Samsung drvers are installed in your PC.
I hope i can help :good:

help...motoblur will not log in/create new acc???

hi, this is my first post....
i have spent the last few days searching this site with no luck, so here goes...
i have a motorola defy android 2.1(stock rom)
it was running great (rooted and overclocked at 1200) until i downloaded a freezing program (freezes orig phone apps, telstra ect)
anyhow i turned off my phone and then when i turned it back on i had no home screen??? (so couldnt access my apps, settings, msgs, calls, nothing)
i could slide the unlock across but after that it was just black with the status bar at the top....
i have done a hard reset (hold volume down and turn on, then wipe data/factory reset)
now my stupid motoblur acc will not let me log in, or create a new account (i have been successful loging into the motoblur website, just not on my phone), it loads almost to the end of the progress bar, then just sits there and does nothing at all, i even left it over night!!!
i have installed these files, in the hope of flashing a new rom (2.3 or 2.3 would be sweet)
Motodrivers131
RSD Lite 4.9
i installed rsd first, and could see my phone (in download mode) but every time i tried to flash a .sbf file i got the message "Failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file. (0x7029); phone connected" so i installed Motodrivers131, and now my phone wont even show up in rsd???
im in melbourne, victoria, australia 3133...
im going insane here, any help would be very appreciated...

Uninstall everything, reboot the pc, install Motorola Drivers, install rsd, remove the battery, press and hold VOL UP and put the battery again. Open RSD and try to see your phone now. If it fails, try to press the power button (continue holding VOL UP).
If everything fails, maybe you are out of battery, and the only thing to do is mcgyver trick (see wiki).
ok, i have managed to get into google while in the motoblur sign in thingy, and rooted my phone and used clockwork to flash an update from my sd card
2 problems tho, first one is that im in australia and ive flashed t-mobile 2.2 (usa)
and the second is that everytime i put an sd card into the phone it begins to mount the sd card, then instantly says "sd card is safe to remove" i have tried formatting it on the phone but it says to remove it before i get a chance..... (i have tried 2 diff cards) and have wiped them on my computer!
this is rather annoying as i cant flash it with blueginger like i wanted to, or use a fair few apps or the camera without the sd card present????
any thoughts?
Maybe the drivers are corrupted?
Are you using a T-Mo US Defy unit or an unbranded one?
nah my defy is a telstra branded one from australia......
there has to be a way around this problem...

[urgent] Galaxy S Plus completely frozen/blocked/bricked/...

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Plus here which is almost brand new and has only been used for some phone/texts/emails so far.
I connected it to a PC running Samsung Kies and it told me there was a firmware update available for this phone, so i clicked ok and had it install.
During the installation, at 22%, everything freezes and locks up, it remained at 22% for 45 minutes until (after some googling) i was recommended to just turn it off / reboot it.
After rebooting, i constantly get this icon on the screen :
Copy & paste the following in a web browser (as I'm not allowed to place a link or picture apparently)... : img267.imageshack.us/img267/930/fotofg.jpg
I tried removing the battery for 10 seconds and then boot it up again - same screen.
And it doesn't matter if its connected to the PC or not, its always that screen.
And when it IS connected to the pc, samsung Kies shows the 'connecting' screen but it never actually connects.
What do I do ?
How is it possible that someone's phone gets locked/frozen for simply trying to update ?!

Hello,
It's a big problem, but maybe can you blame samsung? However, I don't know if you have CMW, but try to boot that and than install custom rom (a zip rom). After that you can install original firmware.
If that doesn't work find a rom that works with odin, boot in download mode and install that rom, after that install original firmware.
Similar thing append to me but wile using odin i got the same screen.
What i did was connect it gain to the pc, odin detected it and was able to flash the rom.
It was pretty scary i assure you.
My advise is if the phone is brand new take it to your dealer a let them sort this out as it was not your fault at all.
If it's a brand new phone I'd use Samsung's warranty or maybe even return it.

Samsung S4 mini (GT i9195) Bootloop and cannot start recovery mode (No command)

Samsung S4 mini (GT i9195) in Bootloop and cannot start recovery mode (No command)
I WOULD LIKE TO BACKUP THE DATA FROM INTERNAL PHONE MEMORY
Phone is 2 years old, as original and was never rooted and I have never added any inofficial software to it. I think Android 4.4.2 is on it, but cannot access the phone to find out.
First it did not start up again at all after last time the battery was low. Also it did not charge anymore, nor vibrate nor did the computer identify it when connected. Also tried with different battery and chargers, phone was completely dead.
I disasambled it and cleaned it and now at least it boots again and charges, but its stuck into bootloop and only thing I can do is going into download mode. In recovery mode it shows "no command" with lying android and warning signal. It wont switch into the menu for recovery options. Hence I have to try via the download mode to fix the bootloop I guess? - Any intelligence on this? Main thing for me is the data, so want to get the phone running again with all my data from apps etc. - is that possible?
I would buy a new phone anyways but have some important data in an application on this phone (a todo list with brainstorming I did for a job project) which I urgently need to recover. Is there any chance to get hold of this data which I assume must be stored on phone internal memory? Hence please suggest how I can backup the data from this phone. Also would be good if I can get pictures etc. saved.
Can I install Odin and CWR or TWRP in order to extract the data from phones internal memory? and if so, how? I am complete beginner to this...
Thanks for your help
Gisela
TWRP has MTP so you can transfer files from the phone. I can't say about app data. I think that'll only be saved if you had synced the apps with some account. Appdata syncing with Google account was only introduced with Marshmallow.

Help -- phone won't boot and I need to get photos off

My daughter has been using this phone, but never backed her photos up. Now it won't boot and she is worried they are lost forever. I've been trying to help, but only seem to make things worse.
1. She never enabled USB debugging, or rooted it
2. She could not tell me whether she had allowed the OTA upgrades.
3. It got into a reboot loop a few days ago. It would start to boot, then say it was optimising a random number of apps (anything between 90 and 158) and then start over. Wileyfox tech support told me that this was due to an incompatibility between Cyanogen and the latest Facebook Update.
4. They sent me a link to the FOTA files with instructions how to progressively upgrade to Android 7 (TOS111B)
5. They couldn't tell me how to determine whether it was running CM12 or CM13 (I now realise that I could have looked at the log files in the recovery partition)
6. I therefore assumed that it was running CM12. I used their instructions to go into recovery and manually update from SD card to ZNH0EAS2NH from there to ZNH2KAS7EB and then to TOS111B
7. Fatally I did not reboot between updates. At the end I had the Wileyfox splash screen black on white, and then got an animation with it red on white. It then got stuck.
8. I then tried using fastboot to go back to the original version of the OS so I could start over. I found the fastboot image and I flashed the boot and system partitions.
9. Now on boot it either gets stuck on the black on white boot screen, or it displays it for a second and then turns off.
Can anyone help me? - I think my daughter will have a nervous breakdown if I don't find a way of recovering her photos. Recovering the photos is more important than unbricking the phone.

Since posting this I have had a partial success. A more complete set of fastboot flashing using the TOS111B fastboot images has got me to a phone that boots. Many of the apps work. However...
a) I get an "unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" appearing almost as fast as I can close the app making it very difficult to get anything off the phone. However, I did manage to set up a google sync to upload the photos.
b) my daughter now tells me that her SMS's are vital.... and the messaging app says " getting message" then closes down
c) I cannot enable developer setting to enable usb debug mode. I can get into the phone status page under settings. Repeated tapping on the android version brings up the nougat splash screen, but the 7 taps (or 700 for that matter) on build number does nothing whatsoever.
Does anyone have any ideas how to recover to a fully working system without doing a factory reset?
I suspect that the sms database would have gone when the cache was cleared. Can anyone confirm that to be the case before I spend any more time trying to recover them?
Hi Jerry ,
Exactly the same problem here. Could you tell me where you've found the TOS111B fastboot images?
Thx!
Have you tried booting into safe mode?
I think you do that by pressing and holding the volume down down button during reboot.
If you can manage that you may be able to dissable the apps that are causing the crash.
