I've read a lot of good things about paranoid android rom and I can't decide if I want to switch from cm to it or not. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Dude, it's 100% subjective. Like asking what color should be your favorite. Especially right now, since 4.4 was just released. Try them out & decide which works for YOU. There are 1,000's of review videos if you want to see features & hear opinions.
Personally, I'm sticking with stock for awhile. Then I'll use PA, once it is significantly different from stock, which right now none of them really are, unless you want a 4.3 version. Plus, I prefer AOSP over CAF, so I dumped CM a while ago.

Okay so I see a few CM roms Ive flashed them before but never really kept them. Getting bored of samsung I guess and hoping this will let me want to keep the Note 2, I love EVERYTHING about it except the software. So Which one is the most reliabile and stock that runs quick or as good as a stock touchwiz rom?
Try them and find what you like best. What I like may be different than what someone else likes. I don't like paranoid on this phone, others love it. Its what YOU want.

Whats the reason that you dont like it?
I`m just looking for speed, battery and reliability , I was between that and pac-man`s but I dont want much extras
I don't like it cus it's made for a nexus so it has the on screen menu button in places, it's just not my thing. I like root box, and right now I'm on jedi cm. The batter is really good. I got about 5 hours screen on time today and that's with ingress running for over an hour. That uses lots of battery and gps is on the whole time playing.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Which one is more nexus like? Not meaning the buttons. But more stock android without all the addons people like in cm. Just like pure cm but stable
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
Go to the original development section and look at the jedi cm rom. It's what your looking for. It's pretty much stock cm with a few nice tweaks. Not as much customization as say liquid or carbon or the others. Pac man and root box and paranoid all have lots of extras I never use.

How good is the office CM`s? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105917
Cause they seem VERY stock.
Yes that is stock cm. I haven't used it though. Just try it out
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
OP, the most reliable stock that runs quick or as good as stock....is Stock, nothing wrong with Stock. But as other pointed out, you will just have test and run, as it seems you have....bottom-line it is all on you, with to many different variables involved from user to user....you have to just test the waters of Stockish ROMs for yourself.
Thanks
Why do all cm10 based roms have so many problems and why do they all look the same ?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
What are all the problems? There are quiet a few new ones but many very stable. Someone correct me if I am wrong'but I believe most all use cm as a base ROM. Each has there own features and functions.
I have zero issues with dastins cm, kts AOKP, snipers PAC or PAC in black, gave carbon, slim, and pretty much every other ROM a test drive no issues. Personally I keep going back to PAC love all the features .
It's not hard to flash them, see what fits your desires hardest part, well longest is downloading them and playing with settings. I find myself only staying on one for a few days at a time. Nothing wrong with the ROMs but rather enjoying playing with them and seeing what new goodies they bring to the table.
EDIT: that's kind of like saying all tw ROMs look the same they all have tons of hours of work put into them themed and tweaked to the designers liking but cuz its all tw they all look the same. Just my two cents...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I downloaded a couple of cm based roms and had problems with them and they all kind of look the same tw has some roms that look totally different I was not trying to bash anything I know it takes a long time to make one. I was just wondering if they had something other than cm or tw I am on tw now and I dont have any problems at all just a question thanks

They all look similar because they are AOSP, the same OS you would see on a Nexus product, and not a skinned manufacturer based ROM like Touchwiz, Sense, Blur...

Or Has The Development For This Phone Seriously Slowed Down?
The S4 came out. Many are working on both devices or more, 5 or so Roms just got updated I wouldn't see that as slowing down very much. This is also the time a lot of people get the used device to Dev on so many may come to our community as well. If you get "bored" you can try to build yourself or use att Roms also, so long as they don't have their updater-script device specific.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I think the above is true. It's just not shiny enough anymore. I still love it though!
Another aspect, from a development point of view is: why? Why develop for the S3? It's already over-saturated with (mostly) TW and AOSP ROMs. And one ROM is pretty much the same as the next. What I'm trying to say is, nobody is going to reinvent the wheel, because there is nothing wrong with the one we're using. If I'm being honest, we already have a ridiculously large selection of ROMs to choose from. There's not really anything to update.
Well over in sprint forum we have cnexus working on the sense five rom...i dont think its slowing to much
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
There is always a slow down between major Android releases as well. We will see a huge uptick once 4.2-based TW ROMs launch and even more when key lime pie launches.

As far as roms go, I'd much rather have just a few really solid ones than anything.

This!!! And further more like aerowinder stated, there isn't much more that can be done. Almost all AOSP Roms have the same issues and will continue to for the most part, they all use the same overall base for the most part, if one has more "features" it is more prone to breaks, same goes for TouchWiz Roms. The more stuff messed with and customized the larger the chance for breaks. I think the forum is bloated as is but thats not a problem as it gives options.

I completely agree with this, I find roms that are closest to stock, AOSP or Touchwiz, to be the ones that are the most pleasant to use.
Not trying to bash all the hard core rom cooks out there who packs in features into their roms, it is just my preference. You guys are doing an excellent job.
I know how much work it takes to develop a piece of software, especially when working by yourself or a tiny team. And for free.

I'm watching Ubuntu development and its not progressed any further on the kernel level than the last kernel I posted - it's in Development if you want to try out the OS but nothing works. I have to wait for Ubuntu to update the kernel source... They're still using 4.1.2 source code which is what they launched with. They need to work on the kernel before it's going to be any use.
First release isn't until October so I don't think they are going to do much kernel development right now and instead they're going to focus on app development

No one is working to port 4.2.2 update to our phone..
I am relatively new to S3,, is it really difficult to get 4.2.2 from international s3?
and in original android development, besides cm, paranoid asop roms there is nothing else.

It is not possible to port international ROMs to the Us S3. Entirely different hardware. We will have to wait for an official 4.2.2 release or rely on AOKP, AOSP, CM, etc.

That is typical after a device has been out for a year or so... It will slow down a bit.
I wouldn't worry too much, though. Our devices are going to get the 4.2.2 update... Things will pick up again.
I heard a leak may be exposed within the week. Rumor, of course... But from Samobile.com, they are typically a good source of information for stuff like that.

Yeah I about lost my mind trying to keep up with some of those comments haha.
It looks like its the I9300 for sure though, we haven't even had one test build for US variants and it makes sense, especially with all the features of the S4 that Samsung is porting over. Like it or not, they are always going to update Exynos devices before Qualcomm, especially when it comes to the S3 because of the relatively large disparity between the performance of the two versions.
So I have been trying to decide if I should root this phone and put Cyanogenmod on it (been a fan since CM6). This is my 4th Android phone and it has drastically improved the experience on everyone, (G1, G2, S2, and now S4 of course). But this is the first time the stock ui has not driven me nuts. 4.3 TW has been pleasant so far. What REAL benefits have you guys seen from ditching the stock rom? Your replies are much appreciated.

My motto is: "if it's not broke don't fix it". I used to be content with aosp Roms and cyanogenmod/aoko etc. But this version of touchwiz is usable for me as well. I've personally gone back to pure stock and custom aosp Roms and have been bored now. The developers here have added a lot to the touchwiz ROM so I find them to be great now. I'm mostly about customization and now tw has what I want so I'm satisfied.

I'd say the only thing I really miss is being able to change tracks with the volume while the display is off. So much safer when driving, this should be standard on all android builds.

Liquidsmooth was my favorite 4.3 ROM by far. I wanted to make the jump to 4.4 and SlimKat seemed to be the next best thing. I'm currently running SlimKat RC3 and love that PIE is finally back. However, the recently released Liquidsmooth beta has caught my eye. I don't really have time right now to flash both and compare the two, but can anyone tell me if there's anything I'm missing out on? I'm probably gonna end up flashing both anyways but what do you guys think of it so far?

Yes, but I'd like to know what others think too. Is comparing ROMs looked down upon here? I don't post here that much.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
OK so I ended up flashing Liquidsmooth and really enjoy it so far. There's a few more customization options than SlimKat, and while they're both excellent ROMs, I think this one suits my needs better. There are a few annoying bugs that I'll post about in the developers forum once I reach my ten post requirement but I'm sticking with it as it can only get better.

Sorry folks...we do not do these comparison or best rom threads as XDA is not a support site.
All the products here are awesome, try them all, make your own independent determination as to what suits you.
