Okay so I see a few CM roms Ive flashed them before but never really kept them. Getting bored of samsung I guess and hoping this will let me want to keep the Note 2, I love EVERYTHING about it except the software. So Which one is the most reliabile and stock that runs quick or as good as a stock touchwiz rom?
Try them and find what you like best. What I like may be different than what someone else likes. I don't like paranoid on this phone, others love it. Its what YOU want.

Whats the reason that you dont like it?
I`m just looking for speed, battery and reliability , I was between that and pac-man`s but I dont want much extras
I don't like it cus it's made for a nexus so it has the on screen menu button in places, it's just not my thing. I like root box, and right now I'm on jedi cm. The batter is really good. I got about 5 hours screen on time today and that's with ingress running for over an hour. That uses lots of battery and gps is on the whole time playing.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Which one is more nexus like? Not meaning the buttons. But more stock android without all the addons people like in cm. Just like pure cm but stable
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda premium
Go to the original development section and look at the jedi cm rom. It's what your looking for. It's pretty much stock cm with a few nice tweaks. Not as much customization as say liquid or carbon or the others. Pac man and root box and paranoid all have lots of extras I never use.

How good is the office CM`s? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105917
Cause they seem VERY stock.
Yes that is stock cm. I haven't used it though. Just try it out
Sent from my SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
OP, the most reliable stock that runs quick or as good as stock....is Stock, nothing wrong with Stock. But as other pointed out, you will just have test and run, as it seems you have....bottom-line it is all on you, with to many different variables involved from user to user....you have to just test the waters of Stockish ROMs for yourself.
Thanks

I know for most the loss of s-pen defeats the purpose of the N2. But the 5.5 RGB, quadcore, would be great for something like CM10 just stock google 4.1.2 . Anyone else agree? Think it would ever happen?

Nope, cause if you're like me, you might care more about the larger screen than the S-Pen. I hardly use it at all, and I'm dying to have the option of using CM10. I really hope it'll happen!! There's a HUGE difference between the stock Samsung rom and AOSP, much more noticeable smoothness. Plus it just looks better imo; I can't stand Samsung's color scheme and design, it's quickly becoming a relic to me..

One of the nice things about rooting, is that you don't have to keep touchwiz.
Here's a nice tutorial I used to really make my device different while keeping the pen functionality.
Youtube Tutorial
I mean, I understand the idea behind AOSP, but a simple theme can be had without switching too much.
I'm guessing for you (and me fwiw), an AOSP +spen variant would be the best. Maybe you could isolate some of the more important pieces of stock sammy, and install them after AOSP.
Which is a good reason for wanting an AOSP.
I am finding swype with the s-pen almost better than two handed typing. Screen size aside, from a productivity standpoint, the s-pen > current AOSP anything.
I tried cm10 from the international version, it was cool. Of course I didn't have signal, but it everything was pretty fast.

Once I get my another laptop. (Hopefully a week) I can start building a device tree for our device phone. Then I will compile you guys a aosp from CM10 sources. I won't be using it myself tho as s daily driver and I do agree thats its pointless to have.
It won't be official because im not a part of the CM Mod team but it will be the same rom.

Thats because of the radio interface layer needs to be decompiled and edited. The htc thunder bolt was the first lte phone and any rom other then stock would not have signal becsuse of said ril files. Of course by now someone figured out how to edit this ril files. I believe I can use the knowledge I learned from editing the TB's ril fil to get CM10 working here.

I'm itching for an AOSP ROM like AOKP. I just really love the look of AOSP and Holo. I believe the best solution to the problem to find some way to automate the porting of N7100 ROMs to N7105s like TMobile/AT&T versions.

I'd like that if we could get dual boot going. I really am missing Paranoid since I got the note2
noted for future reference on my Note 2
id love to see parandroid on the note 2 i havent tried it out yet but from the screenshots and reviews it seems amazing, also the omega rom has top benchmarks on the international version forum so id like to see that too
if you can get multi-window into AOSP I'm all for it. I don't use the pen that much but I love multi-window.
I think aosp and cm are definitely needed. Just look at how popular they were on the original Note.

That's why the dev puts the features in the op. So you can see if you want to flash. Then if you read a Page or two of the posts you can see what people are saying about it. Basically all rooms are the same at this point. Some just have extra mods or are themed. Try one... or two. Every one had different uses and preferences. So what I say is the best you may hate.

I would doubt it. The s-pen is a Samsung thing. AOSP doesn't support it. I THINK the guys working on a CM10 port here are trying to make it work though. I guess it will have to be some kind of CM10/Samsung Franken-ROM. lol
Been switching between Jedi and clean roms... Both are great roms. Been running jedi 6.1.2 for the last two days and have to say i love it. But i will be checking out clean rom 3.3 soon to see how it runs.
Jedi all the way.. It's a smooth and stable daily driver with everything you will need to get the most out of your Note 2

Using Jedi X6.1.2 and have not seen a flaw.... I like to play around with different roms usually but it will take some miracle to move me off this one. Best of all worlds... using nova launcher touch wiz features and spen heavily. Happy guy here
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I tried Jedi rom first because I do not want to mess around with glitches and want as stable of a rom as possible that gives me the features I want. I will go into a rom thread and check the date of the OP's last update. Then I jump to that date in the thread and start reading about the latest release to see what people's opinions are. Everyone loved the Jedi rom and now I do to. There is not a single thing I can find that doesn't work with it. It is fast, stable and had the multi window feature that has not been released on my AT&T phone yet. Although flashing can be fun, I don't want to keep flashing all the time, so I want to be as stable as possible. Jedi for the win.
The only thing I didn't like about Jedi was the branding text on the bottom of the notification drawer and the lock screen. Anyway to turn those off?

I don't like it too. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929217 make a backup!
I started with CleanROM but ended up switching to Jedi as well. Been running it since 3.1 and now I'm on 6.1.2. Very stable, great performance, can't find any excuse to flash another.
I'm sticking with stock unrooted with Nova launcher. I've spent way too many hours rooting/unrooting and flashing roms on my last two Android phones (SII Skyrocket & SIII) only to find out each rom had glitches. Stock has great battery life, works with the S-pen, and just works as it should.
That's what im doing but having a hard time not flashing or rooting !!!! I may have a breakdown soon lol

Why do all cm10 based roms have so many problems and why do they all look the same ?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
What are all the problems? There are quiet a few new ones but many very stable. Someone correct me if I am wrong'but I believe most all use cm as a base ROM. Each has there own features and functions.
I have zero issues with dastins cm, kts AOKP, snipers PAC or PAC in black, gave carbon, slim, and pretty much every other ROM a test drive no issues. Personally I keep going back to PAC love all the features .
It's not hard to flash them, see what fits your desires hardest part, well longest is downloading them and playing with settings. I find myself only staying on one for a few days at a time. Nothing wrong with the ROMs but rather enjoying playing with them and seeing what new goodies they bring to the table.
EDIT: that's kind of like saying all tw ROMs look the same they all have tons of hours of work put into them themed and tweaked to the designers liking but cuz its all tw they all look the same. Just my two cents...

They all look similar because they are AOSP, the same OS you would see on a Nexus product, and not a skinned manufacturer based ROM like Touchwiz, Sense, Blur...

What is currently considered the best 4.2 ROM in terms of features and stability? I'm looking for something in which I will not lose any functionality going from 4.1 (which I'm currently on) to 4.2. I tried checking out all the ASOP ROM threads, but it's a little difficult to get a feeling for what's working and what's not right now..
Thanks for the help. The main reason I'm looking to upgrade up to ASOP/4.2 is for Google Music All Access

AOKP or Rootbox are the best at the moment, imo. Ran these the most and had minimal issues.
Rootbox or EOS
Really though, they are all quite stable and I encountered very few issues with any.
If Camera is important to you, however, my experience is that you should stick with something like Lifeless or a Stock ROM.

I agree with the camera part. I'm running beanstalk and it seems just as good as any other aosp ROM I've tried. However they all have the same camera problems. Even with the camera script it just isn't as fast and seems like the focus isn't quite right. Lifeless with epics camera mod is solid for taking great photos. I always keep a lifeless backup just for that reason.

Oh and EVERYTHING works! Cam, video, wifif, gps, LTE

Well I've had Vanilla Rootbox on for about a day and have had a couple of issues with it. Like I was rebooting my phone and after it shut off it didn't want to power up again
It took like 5 minutes for my phone to power on again... I was so scared... Then I had some issues trying to place a call. The call would not go through. Had to reboot and again it took a while before I could power it on...

What you like about jelly Beer?
I had to ditch Rootbox cuz it was too inconsistent. I'd try to make calls and they'd just hang up, people would get multiple of the same text messages, and I could not hang up at times. I'd push the end button and it would hang up until the person on the other line would.

However, the recently released Liquidsmooth beta has caught my eye.
