I have an I9195 with I9195XXUBMJ7 baseband version. It has been performing very well but over the last month or so it has started breaking up during calls, slowing down a lot and then either freezing up or rebooting. Sometimes I am unable to answer incoming calls - the phone rings but nothing happens when I try to answer a call. I got an OTA "stability" update recently which I hoped would fix this but it has been happening more rather than less since then. The problem seems to happen almost exclusively when I am using the phone function.
I realise that this is a rather vague description of the problem. Has anybody had similar problems? Can somebody recommend a suitable debugging tool (non-root) that will help me sort this out, or a solution?
If all else fails I'll do a factory reset, but I'd like to try to get to the bottom of the problem if possible . . .

having strange problem where after a missed call - sometimes - the phone just dies and I have to take the battery out to reset. Anyone else seen this - I have a few task managers that I think may be causing problems so have killed these already.
Thanks
JK
I'm having exactly the same problem!!! It's a super strage issue if you ask me!
I can play games for hours or browse the web and it never shuts off... But if I miss a call it's apparently shut itself off and only way to boot it up again is to remove the battery.
It can't be a heat issue since it doesn't happen during gaming and other stuff but only missed calls seem to trigger it.
Yes I've cleared the phone log a couple of times but that doesn't make any difference.
same here........not always but frequently this issue appears.....
Tried different roms, now runing cool kingdom sense 3.0 and for 2 days no problems and today it crashed twice...
could it be the radio rom??? anyone any solution yet or would it be a hardware failure...
Only fix now is take out the battery......
Hello guys,
it's been a long time I'm xperiencing an issue with the phone service.
The phone service suddenly crashes and it is more likely to do this when an incoming call reaches me. Sometimes i get the pop-up message about com.android.phone, more often i don't. The service just reboots.
It doesn't occur very often but still it is annoying, mainly because when service crashes on a incoming call it is not even recorded in the missed call log. I tried to find out some similar threads or other forums but no solution was prompted or the case didn't match with mine. Still, it is a very long time since i'm experiencing this.. today i just decided to see if I'm the only one.
Do you usually experience anything similar? Before asking for solution it would be nice to see if i'm alone with it.
I'm running gingerbread stock rom. I'm rooted.
So guys, is your service process working flawlessly?
I tried to replace the phone.apk with a phone.apk from another GB ROM.
Maybe it is so naive, but it deserved a try. Of course it didn't work, such a workaround was too simple.
I am not entirely sure if it is an android bug or specifically samsung. Anyway on my s5 and my N4 if I go to make a call occasionally it will say call not sent...when I go to redial the number the phone has already chosen a different contact at random to call...to make the issue worse the screen will then blink on and off in succession preventing me from stopping the random call...this seems to happen once or twice a week...I have already disabled the gesture option that calls people so I am at a loss here...anyone else experience this?
Not an Android bug. I've had it where the phone would try to connect and give up, but the second attempt would go through. That's a reception issue though.
It sounds like your software is glitch in for some reason. Usually a factory reset will fix this (unless you rooted and did something to alter the system, in which case, your alteration could be the cause). If not, then warranty time.

Yes, I have this too. Really annoying, happens every few weeks, and seems to go away after a restart.
Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but, has anyone figured out this problem? This happens on my Verizon Note 4 as well, so it is not carrier specific.
Everywhere else I have searched no one has an answer.
Just usually a call is placed. Then a quick message pops up with "Call not sent". Then another contact gets called instead. For me I don't see any pattern to how the wrong contact gets chosen.
This happened in KitKat and now is happening still in Lollipop.
Also I did a factory reset when I upgraded to Lollipop. Any ideas?
Edit: Just thought about this. Do any of you who have the problem use Google Voice?
Hello, since I bought my OP3 I have this weird problem:after a long period of no use (like overnight) it won't receive calls, the person that is calling gets the "User is not available at this moment" like my phone would ne closed. The only solution is to call someone and it works like normal until night when it is not used and the problem comes back. It is really annoying, I tried to deactivate Doze, to do Factory Reset and install a fresh OOS and nothing is changed. Please help me if you have any idea or solution.
I am on OOS open beta 31if it matters, the problem is present since Android Nougat.
Hello, I have a big problem since the last firmware update. I woke up this morning and I had a notification to update my watch to the last firmware (1.0.9.58).
Since then, whoever is calling me, my phone replies immediately and the calls starts counting seconds (00:01 etc) and my watch doesn't ring or shows anything as its screen. In the past, the phone kept ringing and my watch too and i could see on both screens who's calling me. Now after a second, the call is replied on my phone, without touching it or something. You understand that this is extremely weird and dangerous, since i'm not always next to my phone and sometimes i'm doing stuff that I don't want a potential caller to hear... like listening to music or talking to someone else (don't think only the naughty stuff). I'm sure my phone doesn't have an issue, since i didn't change anything and i'm completely sure it's my watch, since i disabled temporarily bluetooth and my phone starting ringing for a call without answering automatically.. Can we do something about it? Did anyone notice the same behavior???
I am on the same firmware, but i have a complete opposite problem regarding calls with my GT2...since this latest update my gt refuses to connect for calls to my P30 pro...

Try to check if the smart answer (bluetooth) is enabled in your headphones mode.. if not, reset your wifi/bluetooth settings
I had the same issue and I'm using the Oneplus phone. I solve this by switching off auto-answering when the phone is connected to a bluetooth device. Hope it wokrs on your phone as well
