Hey folks
I just wanted to know if the wifi patch provided by dr.ketan for mj5 based roms safe or not. I am kinda scared of tinkering with the bootloader of my device. So.. does the wifi patch modifies our bootloader? Can i easily downgrade to dmg1 (pre-rooted by dr.ketan) and will the wifi patch conflict with an MI6 rom?
I am a newbie

Do you know who u asking about ? He made every thing for this phone and thousands of us flashed his rom and bootloaders and did u read anywhere that someone bricked his phone with his ROM/Bootloaders ?
I had flashed them on 3 notes and they all are working fine.
Hey i didnt question his work.. so sorry if it seemed like that...
I was just asking if it modifies our bootloader because i hesitate in tinkering with it..
Sorry dr ketan i dint mean that

Is there another way to change the status bar icons with out flashing a different rom when i try to change icons with rom toolbox is sais i need a deodexed rom or somthing is there a way around this cuz i have a gs3 unlocked n jailbroken n im not familier with flashing roms n i dont know if id have to re root n unlock my phone if i do flash a new rom
First the term jailbroken is for Apple for android is called rooted. Don't know if your trolling or what but you do need a custom rom or a deoxedexed. Unlocking is separate from rooting has nothing to do with that

Hi everyone, first im sorry for my bad english...

is the lastest custom roms specialy like OMEGA or Android Revolution HD are safe and secured our devices for SDS ?
anyone had SDS were using this kind of roms ?
im using TWRP 2.4.4.0 is it safe?
Thx for all.
Yeah the latest version do.
And twrp version is all right.

What you have to understand is that your phone is never safe if you have the affected firmware version on your emmc chip. Although the software patches Samsung created were designed to help prevent it, if your phone is moving towards brick land, it will do so no matter what version, kernel, rom or recovery you have.
Unless someone finds a way to update the firmware on the emmc chip, no one with the affected version is safe.

What the hell are you saying? You know what has happened to a sds bricked phone? A wrong command has been triggered which bricked the storage on the device. So if that command is stopped from being issued then how can one have sds issue?
this is XXXDDDAAA
AFAIK, the fix basically crashes the phone when the conditions triggering SDS appear, preventing permanent damage.
So while your phone won't die it might become unstable.

i also thank everyone for the informations... everytime i touch my note is a scary moment for me cuz i dont have warranty i just bought it on internet :crying:
Don't worry. He might have been using note2core kernel which doesn't have sds patches till yet. I check the forums almost daily and I. Have never seen anyone have sds on omega 14 which is released just on Monday so I don't think I had skipped that thread.

I dont think that Omega and Android Revolution roms are safe
I pmed him to confirm the version. It was probably due to a previous version of kernel or recovery.

thank you mate for ur reply... im now on android revolution 14. i just want to ask you if i should install Perseus Kernel or no to be safe from SDS
You can rely on the latest version.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
He's talking about the last version of Perseus kernel, but if u just bought your Note 2, you should root it first and then install a custom rom ( i suggest Android Revolution rom ) and then intall the last version of Perseus kernel... all of that and i cant confirm you that your device is protected from Sudden Death.

Very bad news.
He is saying that he was running perseus v33. I can't say anything now.

I already saw another guy that had sds on omega 14... so our devices are not secured even with custom roms and kernels
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I think it's with omega only. Could you confirm the kernel and recovery from him?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Apparently the reason of sds in his case was that he had an obsolete recovery which wasn't sds safe.
Can you try to not down all the instances where people with latest stuff got sds? It would be really helpful.

Just wondering if there is any tool / app / guide to do that?
There was a tool for my good old SGS2 so just thought a brilliant mind out there ought to have come up with one.

Root your device then use triangle away to reset the counter. You are on 4.1.2 so it should not be a problem. Read dr ketan's guide how to root plus triangle away.

you are on 4.1.2 , so you can use Triangle away app, search for it on google and you'll get the app and it will reset your counter to 0.

well since you are already over with warranty and flashing stock is no issues but you can get OTA updates as due to trigger on the knox until it can be reset and brought to defualt which is not possible as of now ,and if looking for a custom rom make your choice on a stable one and no need to upgreade anymore.

its really difficult to nderstand how you got the knox enable bootloader without flashing 4.3 or maybe you have flashed 4.3 MK4 build knox bootloader by odin ,anyways now you cant claim warranty so just enjoy your note 2 with any rom of your choice
Hi.
My friend asked me to install custom rom on his n7105. I own n7100 and I have mj5 bootloader installed to keep warranty. Can I apply MJ5 bootloader to his N7105 or there is other safe bootloader for LTE version ? Thanks
Ok I did some research and it looks like it you don't need to flash 4.3 bootloader in order to have wifi working. Just need to install devil or agni kernel, is that right ?. All I wanna do is install dito rom on his n7105 without voiding warranty. He is still on official 4.1.2

Hi
I have a similar problem. On N7105 DN4 v2.2 LTE.
I am searching for the updated bootloader for N7105.
The ROM works fine with Agni Kernel - but all Kitkat ROMs seem to give me USSD response in Japanese/Chinese. I believe it is my BL.
Could you help, please?
Thanks.
