Is there another way to change the status bar icons with out flashing a different rom when i try to change icons with rom toolbox is sais i need a deodexed rom or somthing is there a way around this cuz i have a gs3 unlocked n jailbroken n im not familier with flashing roms n i dont know if id have to re root n unlock my phone if i do flash a new rom
First the term jailbroken is for Apple for android is called rooted. Don't know if your trolling or what but you do need a custom rom or a deoxedexed. Unlocking is separate from rooting has nothing to do with that

Even if you didn't want to install a custom rom you could root, install CWM recovery and use UOT kitchen to create the NEXUS S theme.I believe that it will theme stock roms now.
But to be honest root and install a custom rom and turn you phone into a super phone

nope he's dead....
The rom cant possible kill your phone its proven
Only after many many flashes your recovery will have problems with backing up
But isnt really needed
Only thing that could kill it was some apps that arent for this phone
Like rom manager etc
Things that require root etc

Learn to read a forum,
first threat is: [Guide] [GT-S5660]How to safely use rom manager!
I hav a doubt. .Would be nice if somebody cleared it up.
What is the use of a deodex rom apart from themeing?
Since I'm never going to install any themes on my phone like transparent status bar and all. . Do I need Deodex rom for anything else?

For mods you will need a deodexed rom. But if you are going to use only stock apps there is no point.
- f3w1n -
You can flash all the MODs found here
And there also alootttttt of root apps which generally increase your phone sound/performance/display greatly, and those apps use root.
And also you can flash custon kernels which take out the true potential of a device
Hey I'm not talking abt root. . Im running a rooted odex rom.. I was just interested in knowing use on deodex...
As far as I know none of the root apps require deodex.. correct me if I'm wrong

Its T Mobile Samsung SGH-M191 running Android 4.3, can I download a rom from ether Android development or original android development and flash a 4.4.2 rom on it?
The know app is gone, the custom rom counter is still there,
I flashed CWM recovery on rooting and am running WIcked V10 currently
Region unlocked, but not sim unlocked

Yes you can. If you are rooted you can flash any Knox free ROM. That includes 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 ROM. I'm currently on Insane KitKat its a great ROM.

Thank you this s4 rooting is easy enough but the ROMs are kinda different than the s3s were to me, or maybe its because when I had the s3 I only ran TPR.

You mean TWRP?I was a long time user of the S3 myself. I've stayed away from Aosp because for some reason it breaks functions when I go back to Touchwiz. It did very well for me when I used HTC devices but not Samsung.

No I meant TPR as in a ROM called The Peoples ROM, my GS3 was on Sprint and being new to rooting anything that advanced TPR was the closest to stock with no sprint bloat ware in it,
I have since learned how to add and remove what I want to make a ROM customized to my personal needs and wants. Is, I like adding Kii keyboard into a ROM before flashing, since I love it so much I bought it
