Social Group - HTC One V

I am a newbie to xda but know a bit about android, so I was just exploring the XDA websites and found social groups. I saw that the One V didn't have one, so I created one. Here is the link

Please correct me if such social group exists and please tell me if I am posting in the right place
Thanks

Links to other XDA or Windows Mobile sites?

Hi all,
I may be blind and have not noticed them, but I was wondering if XDA Developers has links to other XDA or Windows Mobile sites of interest to users?
I have been out Googling for other interesting sites with forums and software downloads and developers etc and thought I would check to see if XDA Developers links to any, but could not find any links.
Can anyone tell me if perhaps:
A) I am just not looking in the right place on the site; or
B) Why XDA Developers don't link to other people's websites where they are relevant to our interests here? Is it because there is a concern that those sites may contain warez?
Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

Quick dev question Where in the world are the contact group lists stored...

Ok guys quick dev question I want to modify the groups listed in my contact groups list, specifically the ones that cant be modified or deleted thanks to htc... Where can I find this list to delete the premade ones or at lest modify the titles?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Adan

"Thread DELETED/Locked??? This is DEVELOPMENT section not Q&A/General!!!!"
Didn't see the sticky? Wrong forum!
No it's not in the wrong forum!
If you're working on development it's development. If you can't ask development questions in the dev forum what's the point of having one? I'm not asking how to root or for when some stupid piece of software is coming out!
Now please if all you are going to post is useless crap skip this. I need help modifying a file to track down a bug in a theme a friend built that I've been testing for him. We ran into a roadblock with it changing the group names and since it's the stupid groups htc make undeleteable or modifiable it makes the theme unreleaseable.
Could someone please help with this problem?
Thanks,
Adan

[Q] Subscribe to posts by thread OP only?

Hi there,
Most kernels or ROMs have a high-traffic thread with lots of people sharing their experience etc.
Every once in a while, the OP chimes in with an updated version of the ROM, or a bugfix etc.
I would like to keep up to date only with posts by the OP, to keep updates down to a manageable volume. I don't want an RSS feed of all new posts in the thread, but only those by the OP.
Is there a way to get such a feed? Or another way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
Thank you in advance.

There's no way to do it.
The only way that's close to seeing the OPs updates is to view the Most Thanked widget whilst on the desktop.
It highlights the posts which have received the most thanks, which is to make it easier to find the main information and updates.
I really like the idea! Would be extremely useful for a couple threads of mine.

Has been recently suggested and the_scotsman is passing on this idea to mod committee.

Isnt it possible by doing advanced search and providing op's username in posts made by "text box"?
As we have search this thread option in xda2013 theme version.. i dont know about other versions..
hit thanks button! If above post helps you..

I've been working on creating RSS feeds of XDA threads. Your request seems like a excellent improvement on what I have at the moment.
The current implementation will generate a RSS feed of the last three pages of any XDA thread. You can see the RSS of this thread here:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=a41f01f197a7b89b1fcf6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001
If you're only interested in posts by the user "ezuk" you can filter the messages. To see only messages by "ezuk" or messages that quote "ezuk", add "&match=ezuk" to the URL.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.r...6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001&match=ezuk
Interested? You can read more about the implementation here:

Wow, that's pretty cool! Any way to match only messages by "ezuk" (without ones that quote "ezuk")?

In the RSS feed, posts have the name of the author as title. So it will be no problem to distinguish posts by "ezuk" from posts from other members. Give it a try, and I think you'll see that the simple solution is probably good enough for you.
If you want to filter even more, you could use:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=a41f01f197a7b89b1fcf6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001&match=posterName[^>]*>ezuk<
but that's not very intuitive.
Thank you, that helps!

To mods/forum staff : Request for username change

Hi,
I'd like to change my username from CrazedMonk to BlueSharky, to standardize my accounts on several different forums. I searched the forums, and didn't find anything of use, except a 2008 post to contact Flar.
Could anyone help me out in this regard?
Thanks a lot.
To change your name you will need to send a PM to MikeChannon he is the forum Admin and the man with the power to do this, you can do that HERE
Wow, that was fast as it is already changed.
Lately I have changed on this suggestion and instead of PM'ing Mike, I have been offering this page: XDA Contacts & Help as it allows the requests to be categorized and also helps answers questions for other types of requests. 7th option down is "I want to change my username".

You could add how to change your username to your New User Guide, also how to get you XDA account deleted, as I am seeing alot of these threads popping up alot recently.

Yeah, I requested several posts to be inserted so I could reorganize a bit and add some new stuff. The first post in the guide is getting a bit long.

Subscribe to Phone Forum Group

How do you subscribe to a main group of forums? ie. I want to subscribe to the HTC Verizon M8 forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8
I don't want to subscribe to each individual sub forum (no sense in having 6 forums listed in my subscribed list when I could just click into one forum and see all of the sub forums. I would like to go the main forum with the sub menus listed. And.......I can't find the subscribe button on the main Verizon M8 Forum Group.
Any help?
On the site, it's not possible. However, if you're using an app to access XDA then you can simply find the Verizon M8 forum and long press it and select the option to subscribe to that forum
