Hi there,
Most kernels or ROMs have a high-traffic thread with lots of people sharing their experience etc.
Every once in a while, the OP chimes in with an updated version of the ROM, or a bugfix etc.
I would like to keep up to date only with posts by the OP, to keep updates down to a manageable volume. I don't want an RSS feed of all new posts in the thread, but only those by the OP.
Is there a way to get such a feed? Or another way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
Thank you in advance.

There's no way to do it.
The only way that's close to seeing the OPs updates is to view the Most Thanked widget whilst on the desktop.
It highlights the posts which have received the most thanks, which is to make it easier to find the main information and updates.
I really like the idea! Would be extremely useful for a couple threads of mine.

Has been recently suggested and the_scotsman is passing on this idea to mod committee.

Isnt it possible by doing advanced search and providing op's username in posts made by "text box"?
As we have search this thread option in xda2013 theme version.. i dont know about other versions..
hit thanks button! If above post helps you..

I've been working on creating RSS feeds of XDA threads. Your request seems like a excellent improvement on what I have at the moment.
The current implementation will generate a RSS feed of the last three pages of any XDA thread. You can see the RSS of this thread here:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=a41f01f197a7b89b1fcf6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001
If you're only interested in posts by the user "ezuk" you can filter the messages. To see only messages by "ezuk" or messages that quote "ezuk", add "&match=ezuk" to the URL.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.r...6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001&match=ezuk
Interested? You can read more about the implementation here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975124
Wow, that's pretty cool! Any way to match only messages by "ezuk" (without ones that quote "ezuk")?

In the RSS feed, posts have the name of the author as title. So it will be no problem to distinguish posts by "ezuk" from posts from other members. Give it a try, and I think you'll see that the simple solution is probably good enough for you.
If you want to filter even more, you could use:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=a41f01f197a7b89b1fcf6b72b3964a9a&_render=rss&t=1200001&match=posterName[^>]*>ezuk<
but that's not very intuitive.
Thank you, that helps!

I am requesting that polls in threads should be made editable just like posts are editable. Right now I posted a thread in which I made poll to see which ROM is the most popular and I guess I forgot some roms so people gave me suggestions to place their rom in the poll, and I can't because I can't edit the poll. I also would like the poll to be editable so that I can add roms that are new or that I forgot. I would just like the poll to be editable in a way that I can add or delete options. Well, thank you for your time and for taking my request into consideration, I hope to hear from u soon.

Big +1 on that
On a side note why are you using the dream? (nice phone still)

It's a limitation of vBulletin. Even moderators have limited access to amend polls. If you need a new option, or a poll closing, that's possible, just PM a Senior Mod.
If you want a poll resetting that needs an admin. Either PM a Senior Mod and they'll add it to an Admin's TODO list, or PM mikechannon / egzthunder1 - but the admins do have quite busy workloads .
Thanks
Dave

A big fat '+1' from me, if it's possible.
I'd like to see that as well. +1
Is there a current list for the Administrators and Moderators? I would like to find out who I can contact so that I may learn the steps to become a moderator. If there is any way possible to date.
Have a look on my signature link to get the Mod & Admin list
For the time being Mod applications are closed but you can follow it´s status over there
The report process is being under revision and soon we should have an easier way to report.
Thank you very much for the quick and helpful reply, sir.

Actually had the same thought. I asked one of the Forum Admins, but I guess I'll just have to stand in line for a position on the team.

Yeah. Hopefully they open up the positions up again. There are plenty of devices that don't have specific moderators.

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good app or mod which imitates the Touchwiz lockscreen notifications for text messages and email.
I seem to remember it being a large red envelope on Touchwiz.
Would anyone be willing or able to port these from the stock samsung build?
Thanks for your help in advance.

What are you the forum police!!! The second thread was properly started accidently, they were both created on the same day! Hardly a big deal! What's the reason for people like you!

I'm not the forum police, but I do not think they were created "accidently"
And may I ask what is the reason for people like you, who support "spammers" instead of saying something like this
[Perfect post] "I don't think he made it to spam, but to the you: Can you please don't start another thread if your first one didn't get answered?" [/Perfect post]

Stop arguing and please stay ontopic for OP's sake. You can see he has only 3 posts...
As far as ontopic goes: I would really love to see my Whatsapp and Facebook notifications on Sammy lockscreen, in the ring(just like messages).
I don't want an argument, all I'm saying is the both threads were posted on the same date word for word so the chances are they got posted at the same time by accident.I dont support spam either, I just think that some people on xda are really arrogant. A double thread doesn't really affect any one either.

Hi,
I'd like to change my username from CrazedMonk to BlueSharky, to standardize my accounts on several different forums. I searched the forums, and didn't find anything of use, except a 2008 post to contact Flar.
Could anyone help me out in this regard?
Thanks a lot.
To change your name you will need to send a PM to MikeChannon he is the forum Admin and the man with the power to do this, you can do that HERE
Wow, that was fast as it is already changed.
Lately I have changed on this suggestion and instead of PM'ing Mike, I have been offering this page: XDA Contacts & Help as it allows the requests to be categorized and also helps answers questions for other types of requests. 7th option down is "I want to change my username".

You could add how to change your username to your New User Guide, also how to get you XDA account deleted, as I am seeing alot of these threads popping up alot recently.

Yeah, I requested several posts to be inserted so I could reorganize a bit and add some new stuff. The first post in the guide is getting a bit long.

Is there such thing as receiving a notification when the first post of the thread I am subscribed to has been edited? It would be especially helpful on the developers' subforum.
It would be nice but no there is no way to get a notification when the op is edited.

No need to worry though, because usually OPs post a reply in the thread that the first post has been edited. Like "updated to 2.1 version, please check the first post".

Not always useful though, especially if the post gets 100+ replies per day anyway!

Unfortunately, that is caused by people posting stuff in the Dev threads that shouldn't be there. If people could actually understand what the Dev threads are for and not post cr4p in there like "Thanks" or "Why doesn't this work - I haven't bothered searching".

That's actually a very good idea :good:
I can't think of any easy way it could be implemented, but I'll mention it to the server admin just in case
