i am an owner of the ASUS TF600T .there's no forum for it and this forum comes close to it as any i have found on xda. i wanted to know any other owners having problems or found tricks for it any new programs games so on for this tablet,, i really become to like this tablet at first i didnt really like it since its limited on programs and devices i can use with it... but after playing with it everyday i become to realize its perfect to travel with and light weight battery last good for a windows tablet ....

It is very unlikely that we will see Access on ARM devices.

We can't do anything about that. Microsoft didn't release access for RT and probably never will

Is it posible to install windows mobile 6.5 on an windows phone 7 or android phone ?
I ask this because we are dropping support for windows phone but it is going to take a while for us to do the port to android and our clients are having trouble geting devices that can run our current software.

Nope. Not possible.
Why would you expect your customers to hack their devices to install WM 6.5 just to run your company's software (which would kill their warranty for the device) even if it was possible?
Huh! Why would someone buy a windows phone only then to install wm 6.5 or whatever? If they wanted 6.5 they would not have bought a windows phone 7 in the first place and bought the older phones.
People seem to think phones are like PCs... They aren't.
Downgrading is easy. Bring the WP7 devices back and get HD2s or Tilts/TouchPro's, etc. Samsung Jacks or Epix if you're into that formfactor.
I would never expect anyone to do this on my request

why are you dropping support for 6.5? and why not make a wp7 port, from what I've heard, it's not that hard.
There are a few reasons that we cant port to Windows Phone 7.
The main reason is the same reason why.
Firefox and Skype will not be avalible on Phone 7.
Our code base is cross platform and is written in C++.
and even if we wanted to develop in something like silverlight or XNA the lack of database and sockets would stop our application dead.
So we are dropping all windows development and are moving our mobile platform to Android and IPhone

I second that...
The biggest point of my phone is for fpsece (psx emulator).
I want snapdragon, no slideout keyboard, and cdma (verizon customer).
I've considered the lg fathom, but I'm not sold on it.
Optimally, I'd want a proper d-pad on the front, but I think those are a thing of the past.

Touch control are koo but arent a good replacement for d-pads imo...mainly for games. Maybe one day some finds a way to have a slider cell that has dedicated game keys like a psp & physical kb like the tp2.

Kinda like they created an app for ubuntu to run within android, is it possible for windows 8 to do the same thing? just curious if anyone has any knowledge in this area. Please search before you post next time. This question is literally asked on every board for every new device. Theoretically Yes it is possible but reality is no dev would do it because they would get sued into oblivion by Microsoft. Windows is not open sourced like ubuntu or android. In order to port windows over legally they would have to get a license to port him and pay royalties to MS

Not even possible. Windows RT has specific bootloader hardware requirements (I forget its name) add to that it is not open source so would need to be hacked together. You might be able to get windows phone to work but again, not open source so lawsuits would ensue.
On a side note why would you want windows rt on here? Windows RT is useless, cant run normal windows apps, and windows staore has less apps then android. Windows is going to release office for android next uear ( or so they claim) so not much need for windows RT on the Note 2.

The only time i've ever heard about Microsofts latest OS's getting ported to a non approved device was the HD2, and as far as I'm aware nobody is getting sued over there. And the only reason the HD2 got WP7 was because it was used as a test device.. I haven't heard anything about it being ported to other devices that have a lot in common (EVO 4G, Nexus One, HTC Desire, etc)
If it could be ported to an android device it will probably be done. but it will need to run the exact same hardware. and even then i still doubt it will happen.

The reason behind that is HD2 was a windows mobile device. It was based on winCE kernels and other devices were based on android Os which is based on Linux kernels.

Indeed. Similar to this was the Toshiba TG01, which also runs WP7. It is a native WM6 device with a 1GHz CPU, 512MB ROM, and 256MB RAM.

Hey, I recently got a Vivotab Rt TF600TL, which runs windows rt. And I hate windows, but since it was a present, I don't really wanna sell it. I researched about installed android into it and couldn't find one, there are some for other vivotabs that are already androids. So is there a way to install android, on a Vivotab Rt specifically for TF600TL. Thanks
Depends on if there's a recognized signature for the bootloader. But the short answer is "almost certainly not possible"

I have been trying to find out any definitive info on what I can and cant do with my surface. Im hoping that I can install something other than Wins 8 RT. It has not looked hopeful in the past, I was given the device as a promo training gift 3 years ago. Im tired of the neutered and damn near useless ness of this tablet. Im looking to install ubuntu or an android flavor of some sort.
As far as I know from scouring the web. Nothing as far as dual booting with an alternate OS is viable at this point. Everything has come to a halt. Surface and the RT OS is basically the Apple Powerbook of the x86 side of the world now.
In my opinion Windows RT 8.0 with the jailbreak is about as good as it's going to get (though there might finally be the possibility of an 8.1 jailbreak). I don't know if you've tried the jailbreak (not sure if you have an original Surface RT or the Surface 2) but for me it filled in most of what I was missing on RT, and has kept the device useful.
It is unfortunate that installing a non-Microsoft OS isn't possible.

It is talking about Windows 8 tablets, i.e. x86 devices. RT devices unfortunately have a locked bootloader, and so far no one has found a way around that, nor have OEMs released anything to unlock them, so RT devices are pretty much stuck. I hate the fact that Microsoft made that a requirement for RT devices.
I wasted my money on a Surface RT. If Microsoft had updated the platform to Windows 10 with universal apps they would have restored my faith in their hardware. Never again. Now for AMD to release a proper tablet SOC that I can actually play games on.

Hello everyone, I might came with a dumb question, but I'd like to know if there's any posibility to make Windows RT (8.0 or 8.1 Jailbroken) able to install 3rd party themes. If there's any way, then how? I've been searching everywhere and there wasn't anything for Windows RT or atleast a way without 3rd party software usage... But, if there's any posibility, it would be very nice..

There is no way. Every theme requires an x86 exe file. RT only support ARM exe files

That doesn't support low level calls that themes require. That's also the reason you cannot run a full version of microsoft office.

But I'm still content with what I've got. Only earlier this week did I come to know that Windows RT could be jailbroken. Up until now I used my surface only as a power bank for my phone, or occasionally for editing a word document.
I had almost given up on it, but it's good to see an active XDA community even for such an old device.

My surface 2 has been my only laptop for the past 3 years and I haven't needed anything more. I have my linux desktop for dev purposes, but I mainly use my surface 2 for work.

Yep. Surface RT has been my only windows device for the last 3.5 years as well. I got it as a gift. Initially I was skeptical about whether it would be of any use for me apart from light web browsing or documents editing and I was right for the most part.
But Android has come a long way and to be honest I haven't missed windows as much as I had thought I would. I'm not a developer, so having an Android phone as a daily driver is just enough for me.
However it's always better to use every device you own to it's full potential. A potential that windows RT could never achieve under Microsoft's money minded approach towards it
