following other guy's the instructions, i have to use titanium backup pro to freeze background tethering manager service first.
is there any better solution?
boring? i didn't know you were supposed to have fun opening tether manager.
You can also delete it with root explorer.
Boring...lol. Use app quarantine to freeze: it's free, and you only have to use it once.
I sent it to a ninja who did a ninja removal.

It was installed instantly when I updated gb to 2.3.6. And also it does not show uninstall in settings>applications>manage apps>all. So i thought it was on the system.

Re: Need help
1.) Are you on a ROM? Which ROM?
2.) What app? Is it one app or all apps causing this issue?
3.) So you have the 32gb sgs3?
4.) Have you done any mods that mess with your storage?

Re: Need help
I'm guessing you're rooted? Apps like Titanium Backup or Adaway may cause this issue. Go into any root browser app and in the root directory go into /data/app/ and delete any .odex files you may see and then reboot the phone. That should fix the issue.

There isn't any of those folders it's not working
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
There are always /data/app and /system/app folders in the root directory of your ROM so make sure to use a root browser to view them and first go into /data/app/ and look for any. odex files and delete them. That usually does fix the problem you're having.

Here's a screenshot example of what you should be looking for and deleting. My Battery Reborn apk has an odex file attached to it

There's no folder data/app there's system /app but closes when I open
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
The only way you'll only see /system/app is if you're looking in the rom.zip file. You must already be on the ROM you're having issues with and then you MUST see /data/app because that is where all your user installed apps are located. So 1)Flash the ROM you're having app issues with and 2) Install and open any root browser like the one in Rom Toolbox and you'll see /data/app.

OP, buy the app. Stop using app license generators. That will fix the problem.
Hi all, I'm trying to find a way to change/disable permissions in individual apps, PHONE_CALLS, INTERNET_ACCESS etc, I know there's apps to do this but I want to find a way to do this manually.
Maybe there is a way using terminal emulator or root explorer, I've been searching everywhere but all suggestions are to download an app.
If someone could point me in the direction of a good tutorial there karmic score would mushroom to dizzying heights. Thanks

Odp: [Q] change app permissions manually
Use for this Root Explorer or Solid Explorer(this one is much better). I'm using Solid and when I'm pushing app to system this explorer automatically setting right permission.

Many thanks for this app, I did a bit of research & it seems like it works for certain things like ad blocking, licence breaking, so it's got a bad name in some parts of the community, but hey, my phone my rules.
I found what I was looking for "apktool", this is a pc program that let's you extract-open-edit-repack-replace any app you want.
Hy guys!
I removed some of them with titanium backup, and I realised 2 days ago I'd like to use the Social Hub with facebook sns. I removed the sns too.

search for the apps yourself and copy/paste to system/app(which is not preferred)
