Hello,
I just got a dash from my cousin and am just wondering what internet plan I should add to my existed voice plan. Mainly, I would like to know the differences between tmobileweb ($5.99), blackberry ($19.99), and tmobile total internet ($29.99). I've heard they are pretty much the same but just different marketing. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks a lot!
5.99 plan is t-zones and you can see some sites, and most fo them you can't interact with. The total one lets you go anywhere online and interact as much as a SmartPhone can. And the BlackBerry one I thought was only for blackberries, but I've been with t-mobile for only 1.5 months, so I might be wrong.
Alright, after searching more, I found this website detailed and explained the tmobileweb (or used to be called t-zone).
Link: http://www.gruups.com/tzones/
"The technical difference between T-Mobile Internet and T-MobileWeb with their Web access is that T-MobileWeb actually DOESN'T have port 80 & 443 (for HTTPS) open. Everything goes through the T-MobileWeb proxy which is a Nokia HTTP-To-WAP box which has to process everything before it's delivered to your phone which means surfing with T-MobileWeb is slower than the more expensive T-mobile Internet plan (but at a fourth of the price!)
This also means that things like the "Opera Browsers" and basic or old freeware might not be able to surf from your phone EVEN if it's only accessing a website through port 80. All these applications need to understand the "WAP PROXY" (on pda's and smartphones) or HTTP PROXIES (on sophistacted PDAs and notebooks)"

So I guess T-mobileweb isn't an option for me since I will not be able to use skype and it's slower than the Tmobile total internet service. Now I need to find out the differences between blackberry plan and total internet plan.
I am pretty sure the blackberry plan is for blackberry devices only.
I used the BlackBerry Connect on my Dash. I had a Pearl and popped in the SIM card, installed the BlackBerry Connect software for MS smartphone and it worked fine.
I used the T-Zone plan, I have no problems with sites. I refuse to pay $30 for EDGE, too slow.

Thanks
Hi there
Can anyone tell me how easy it is to set up, and whether there's any additional charges that I'd incur by doing so, I wouldn't be using that much data..
Cheers
I have been tethering my T-mobile phone with my laptop for years now and hve never been asked to pay an additional fee. Remain under the 3GB limit and I think you should be okay. Not had a chance to use the 'internet sharing' option on my Desire yet.
Thanks I will give it a try. I currently have a voda mobile internet dongle which I pay £15 a month for which is now out of contract which I hardly use, and it only gets a 2G signal the place where I use it quite often, where I know t-mobile has a 3G signal, so if I could ditch it, it would be great!
Once the Desire's drivers and HTC sync were loaded on my laptop the tethtering was easy - once you plug in the desire it comes up with a menu of options for the usb connection - just select the sharing option - then on the laptop just pick the mobile connection and off you go.
Like the previous poster I've been tehering on Tmobile for years and not had any charge for it .
I've also tethered on my Touch HD on t-mobile for the last 2 years, fairly heavy usage (though not above the allowance) and never had any problems or charges.
Is the same tethering possible via bluetooth?
Thanks,
David

I have a verizon mifi device that worked great with my phone and tablet but now I cannot connect. It still works with my PC, but no luck with my phone or tablet (Toshiba Thrive). I called verizon but they said the device seems to be working well with the PC, so it must be the phone or tablet.
I was at a hotel 2 days ago and my phone and tablet both connected to their open wireless router fine. Any suggestions?
Hi!
If I connect a "car-stick" such as https://www.onlineshop-skoda.de/index.php/carstick.html, the car (a Skoda Kodiaq) should be able to provide a wifi-hotspot.
I could simply enable internet sharing using my Samsung S9, but I guess the signal would be better if the cars built in wifi-hotspot capability was used.
The phone is connected via USB to the car.
Could the phone be configured in some way which would enable it to present the type of network interfaces similar to what the earlier mentioned car-stick presents?

I have some Units here by ZTE one is a rogers canada other is AT&T USA model They were both easy to unlock take a SIM card and have WIfi . I got them on ebay as refurbs for about $25.00 USD each.
Most any android tablet or phone will overheat if left in hotspot mode. I hear iPhones will fry. All I tested overheated even on battery and add the heat of charging well i suppose something bad could happen!
