Tmobile allows mms to Google voice users - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

sent from the toilet

This is big news. People, including myself, have been waiting years for ANY type of MMS support.
What would happen before is any MMS with her picture or group text sent to a Google voice hosted number would silently be dropped and ignored. I didn't even know someone had sent me an MMS!
The new/current solution is not the best but good enough. GV will notify you that you received an MMS, but then you need to go to Gmail to see the message.
Again, not the best solution but at least I'll receive MMS messages in some form.
No way to send MMS messages yet either.
Small step in right direction but huge one as well

Help! HTC Evo can't recieve picture messages

Hey guys, my friends evo won't recieve picture messages. She can send them, but never recieves them. She is currently using Go SMS Pro, but even on the stock app/handcent, etc. she still has no luck recieving them. Her phone is non-rooted btw. Any input to help her recieve pictures is greatly appreciated.
She just never receives them, or she is getting an error?

If it's not rooted just go the easy way and make Sprint fix it.
Go in a corporate store, they'll get on it.
Turn off Wifi.
MMS only works over mobile data.

You don't have to turn wifi off but the 3g radio DOES have to be enabled.
Just download chompsms fron the app market that will fix it

Can't send mms on my HTC evo's
It seems this is a wide problem for EVO users. I've had this for some time now and just about had enough. Going to the store tomorrow to get it ironed out. Dialing 611 for help does NOT HELP! Bad enough I'm paying for 4G and can't get it in my area let alone not be able to send mms's.

By the way Chomp and Handcent does the same thing.
Got it to work by going to settings, Wireless&Settings, then turn on Mobile Networks. They sent as soon as I did that. No 3G required.
Are you using Google Voice?

Sprint users and text messaging

I am curious to know what fellow Sprint users are using for text messaging. Have you merged your number with Google Voice or have you continued to keep your numbers separate? I've thought of merging my number with Google Voice so that I can text online, but the thought of not being able to text pictures and having to keep data enabled to send and receive texts doesn't appeal to me.

Enabled Google voice mail, but did not integrate. I use the default app on the stock ROM. Like you, I am not hip on losing the MMS.
I integrated my number and use handcent. Mms works fine on phone, I just can not see it in web

I may integrate now that I know this. Thanks! It was my understanding that you had to use the Google Voice app to send and receive texts. I didn't know you could send texts/MMS via the stock app.

I integrated at first, but I really need to keep my 2 separate number so decided to break integration and keep both numbers separated.

[APP]Disable SMS to MMS Conversion

I have not created this App this app has been ripped from other Forum thought this may help as it did for me so i am just sharing it here as i did not find it here
Disable SMS to MMS Conversion
This modification disables the incredibly annoying "feature" that Samsung chooses to add to its messaging app, where any SMS message of a sensible length (ie. longer than 3 SMS messages) will be converted into an MMS message.
A brilliant idea for those who pay for each message they send, as 3xSMS is about the cost of an MMS, which can carry much more text. Unfortunately for Samsung, they're a few years too late here - most people don't pay for their SMSs individually any more. And they likely would need to pay to send an MMS.
Enter this modification, which lets you send long messages again without issue.
Attached is the LEGACY version of this plugin for Xposed API 2.0 RC2. DO NOT USE THIS VERSION. Use the up-to-date one in the download manager.

disable sms to mms conversion
Thanks all for help so far.
The Creation mode doesn't seem to make a difference. Reason I want it disabled is because my company don't allow MMS, so long SMS just change to MMS and fail to send! I was wondering why this guy hadn't replied to my text........
I have tried the Application, and it appears to install but makes not difference. Reading more it looks like I need to use that general Tweaking app, and that you need Root?
Please confirm, because I cannot root my phone as I need to use Good, and my company have Good set to not run on Rooted devices.
I'm really not bothered about having to use another app, as I already use Whatapp wherever I can to keep my SMS (which I have to get billed by text for) down, so would prefer not to have two seperate 'Text' apps, further to the core Android one, which I am generally pleased with?
Solutions appreciated... or, is there an app that brings all Whatapps, texts and Emails into one 'stream' that you can disable SMS to MMS on?
XDA rules...
The app needs xposed framework to run. You have to be rooted to install xposed but once installed and activated you can unroot again. I don't know of any way to disable the mms conversion without rooting first

I'm a little late on here, kind of a noob when it comes to this as well, but anyways so i've installed xposed installer and got a couple modules to download, install and work properly but when i try this one, i get "Parse error". Any ideas? I absolutely HATE that Samsung has this limit!
You can use wannam xposed from the play store, it has this option in it. Sounds like a bad download though

[Q] I keep getting <No Subject: no subject> during group mms

So annoying. Whenever someone sends me a text in GROUP MMS I keep getting that No Subject crap over the message.
Only happens on incoming Group MMS, not individual messages
Tmobile has no clue what Im talking about
Besides going to a 3rd party app(Textra does not work), anyone have any ideas?

You can try handcent it happens because you can add a subject to an mms group texts are sent as mms

Is there a fix for this, or is it just something we have to deal with? I'm experiencing this same thing having just switched to T-Mobile from AT&T.
Because group messages come in as mms messages.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Yeah, but on my old SIII on AT&T, it would leave off the "Subject: <no subject>" line in MMS messages. I was wondering if there's a way to get rid of it on this phone or if it's just something we're stuck with.

AOSP Email + Exchange

I really dislike the stock E-mail app's rich text composing window. It screws up my Swiftkey typing and makes composing or replying to e-mails painfully slow.
I have always liked the simplicity of the AOSP Email app for my Exchange, so I finally found one that works on the G3:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29015-app-mod-exchange-security-bypass-no-pinno-admin-android-41-v60/
This also has the advantage of not requiring a PIN. If you are looking for a free solution, this is for you, otherwise I'd recommend you check out Nine. I loved it, but don't want to pay $10 for it unless work does it for me.
I flashed ExchangeNoPIN-v6.0.zip
Excellent... Thanks.

Love the stock app but it definitely has issues with swiftkey... The no pin exchange had been out for a long time but the stock app will be missed!

I've finally been able to be productive with work e-mails from the phone. The stock app was just impossible to use for me.

Changing message format to plain text instead of html seemed to remedy the situation, I'll use it for a full day an report back!

I did that and it still broke SwiftKey for me. Didn't seem to make a difference in the way the composing window looked.
Because I have rules setup on the server, the stock Android implementation (and LG's) really aren't enough for me. I need the individual folder syncing, but I also need an "all mail" view, where it's a consolidation of all the folders. Touchdown does this right. Beyond that, the only Android device I've had that does this is the M8. I wish more would jump on the bandwagon.
