Stable 4.3 Rom. - LG Optimus G (International)

I'm getting a lgog for the girlfriend in the am. Wondering which rom running 4.3 is most stable. I used to have 2 ogs and usually ran houstonns Roms. Thinking of flashing carbon 4.3, it's a Rogers OG so I believe it is a 971. Which means I can flash 970,971,973 Roms as long as I flash Rogers modem after correct? Sorry I know these threads a're usually frowned apon but I'm having a hard time following what is going on in the forum. Thanks again.

where did you find carbon rom? i have e975! can i flash it also?
thank you and sorry for "breaking into" your thread!

I think u dont have to flash the modem if the ROM is for e971... You could try houston's PA for 4.3

Anyone lead me to a good kernel that will boot on a 971 with carbon 4.3?

Ler me use this topic to ask , why is LG ROMs so big? I mean CM is about 150 mb + Gapps 100mb = 250 mb total , but lg roms are about 1gb, wtf lg did to make a rom 4 times larger? Even cooked roms that are clean and debloated are about 850 mb... Why? Is there some reason?
Thanks

The framework itself is big. Those features don't come cheap.
And cm is over 200mb+100mb the gapps..300mb..but no lg features.only lg launcher has over 100mb
.

Personally, I found houstonn's RootBox 4.2.2 ROM to be the most stable on my E971. With just BaNkS' core gapps installed, and any other Google stuff installed via the Play Store.
Houstonn's Carbon 4.3 (Adreno hybrid) ROM is the smoothest, with the best battery life. Missing a few options compared to RB, but the nicest 4.3 ROM I've used.

Do you / did you get data drops on 4.3? My data cut out. Have to reboot phone to get it back. Tried turning data on off, airplane mode doesn't come back unless I reboot even than its iffy. Is the ccarbon 4.3 ment for 971? What kernel should I run with it.

I have not experienced any data drops on my E971. I have it limited to HSPA+ (no LTE in my city), though. Not sure if that makes a difference. Using the Rogers 4.1.2 modem.
Houstonn's Carbon ROM is developed on an E971, but will work on E970, E971, E973.
There are reports of it working on E975 if you flash the correct modem/baseband for the country you're in. Limited to 8 MP camera, though, unless you flash an E975 kernel.

[ROM] HO!NO! P936 Full stock

Thanks to dczz from bbs.gfan that release the source.
I add in this Rom my kernel v1 and tweak from my last Rom everything else is stock from LGP936. (P936 Baseband & Firmware will be flash in your phone too)
Note: This Rom will work on Bell Optimus LTE without problem. Do not use on LU6200.
but if you use other carrier you will need to change apn.
(The way it work for me is to change apn in system/etc/apn.conf with root explorer and in settings-Wireless & networks-Mobile networks-Access Point Names Reset to default.)
Don't forget to full wipe before using this rom and maybe a backup of your firmware and baseband with adb will be of good use if something goes wrong.

Try going to something substantially lower than stock, like 1200MHz.
HO!NO!'s kernel undervolts the CPU, which seems to work fine for most people but may not be working for you. The thing about undervolting is that every CPU is slightly different, and you may have just been unlucky and gotten a device that can't handle undervolting the CPU without becoming unstable.
Anyway, if that DOES improve the stability, I'd suggest you ask HO!NO! if he can release the original stock P936 kernel and/or a version of his kernel without undervolting enabled which would most likely be stable for you.
Actually you might just be able to disable undervolting in SetCPU.

[Q] Can't flash KT747 kernel on Slim Bean Rom?

98% Sure you are trying to mix an AOSP based ROM with a TW (Stock) type Kernel. That doesn't typically work. There is an option for the AOSP version of Ktoonsez kernel though that _should_ be a better fit with that ROM.
Have fun and continue to read up *Grin*
The thing is, I'm almost positive I downloaded the AOSP version for the KT747 kernel

That's a good start, the AGAT says LJ7 based in the Post, leading one to believe it is for TW ROMS. And on the Ktoonsez it does have a download link for either TW or AOSP. One you are looking for should be named "KT747-Kernel-AOSP-JB-SPR-12-11-2012.zip". Verify that and speak up again if you are still having issues.
Yes, I'm certain that was the file I flashed, because I remembered noting that the file was 7.72MB prior to downloading.
Also, I'm sure that the Slim Rom is compatible with the KT747 kernel because several posts were made on the thread saying that
the battery life was amazing, which made me wonder if I was doing something wrong.

Reading your original post, The order should go 1) ROM then 2) Kernel ... Then Wiping Cache and Dalvik-Cache (And other wipes if needed). Reason for this is if you flash the Kernel first, then the Rom you are over writing the custom Kernel with whatever is packaged with the ROM.
That is the only other obvious thing I see at this point. Hope that helps..

I had some weird problems with SMS on Savvyrom, but I wouldn't blame the ROM for sure, as my phone itself is a hack (F180 that thinks it's E975)... No problems on Epsilon at all. Functionality and performance are about the same on both, I didn't notice much of a difference, if any.
But you are asking the "best ROM" question that is not allowed here. Try them both and decide for yourself...

My vot for Savvy V4. Main reason because with many other roms I have GPS Problems. I coudldn't get a gps fix, but I don't have these problems with Savvy. Also the developer is still active and developing. At the moment he is testing Viper Kernel, maybe we will get an update soon.

Speaking of kernel, Viper works great with stock, not just Savvy. I used it with Epsilon, and I use it now with debloated tweaked stock. Excellent kernel!

Ok @kt-Froggy now I understand because I was not finding anything for E975 in sprint thread.
You made some adjustments to wifi modules, do you know if for version E975 is the same?
Best rom is the stock one and modded with xposed framework. Odexed roms will always be faster than deodexed. Until xposed appeared a rom had to be deodexed to be easier to work on it,especially on themes. Now,we don't have to deodex. Just remove the bloat, optionally flash a custom kernel and tweak it with xposed. You won't get better results.

Okay, could you possibly give me the link that you downloaded it from? It could be a bad download for me. And also i flashed it over the stock kitkat by pauli.
Heres how i flashed:
(Twrp) format data n caches
Flash sling
Flash supersu (unneeded?)
Format data n caches again.
Could it be that i would have had to format system too? How did u flash?

Thanks a bunch. I will try this. This could work as the previous file that i downloaded was bout 800mb, and your file was over 1gb so i might have downloaded a wrong file at the first place.
It works!!? but does this rom have knock code or knockon? How to activate it?

Hi,
I'm using the first kitkat available here in the forum (4.4 rom.zip) and have a strage feature/problem.
When I receive a call is I Don't answer or reject in 10/15 seconds, the call is answered automatically...
Anyone with same "problem "? Any way to disable it?

[FIX][Oversharpening][All Variants] Stock kernel with oversharpening fix.

Many of you know exactly what "oversharpening" is... for those who not, just google "g3 oversharpening" or check this article.
After hours spent trying almost everything i finally managed to remove that. Check in the 2nd thread to see the difference.
Here you go... just flash the kernel in recovery but remember to make a backup of the boot partition before, just in case it will not works.
Remember... the only weird thing is that you have to turn off the screen and then on again to make it works. Just the 1st time after the boot.
DOWNLOADS:
D855 Kitkat Lollipop
D851 Kitkat
D850 Kitkat
LS990 Kitkat
F400 Kitkat
VS985 Kitkat
D852 Kitkat
Of course, tell me what you think.
Like always... DONATIONS are wellcome!!!
Lollipop Source
Kitkat Source
tnx to @Tectas for the kernel source

Flashing right now. Will confirm in a bit.
THIS WORKS! OMG, I haven't been this excited since sliced bread!

Download to view at full resolution. Taken with screen at 100% brightness. You can tell the text is very smooth without any halo.
Works for me
D855
Why is it that the sharpening is still there after boot but it's gone once the display has been off and on?

Maybe there's a piece of code that needs to be run after the device powers on.

Yes
I went ahead and flashed anyway. I had a backup. I'm just waiting for a lollipop t-mobile stock rom. All the 5.0 roms I've tried won't keep signal and they won't read my 128gb memory card. Thanks for your work.

Before it's asked, this won't work on D851 Lollipop until the full version is released from T-Mobile or LG because we need the Lollipop kernel from it. Just wanted to get that out of the way
Thanks for this, don't know what lg was thinking but the screen really shines now
Work on ZoneRom.
Thanks for this.
finally.. thanks! Now we just need some 3rd Party kernels to add this!
