Net speed (USB Reverse Tethering) on custom stuff vs on stock stuff - HTC One V

Is it possible that USB Reverse Tethering (net from PC on phone) on custom Sense ROMs and kernels may be slower than on stock RUU and kernel?

reverse tethering speed is dependent on a few things
1) actual speed of the internet that the pc is using
2) usb port transfer speed
3.0 ports are faster than 2.0 ports, but there are also known connectivity issues with 3.0 ports
but mostly no difference between ROMs.
unless of course the ROM/kernel developer specifically added tweaks built into the kernel and ROM for faster reverse tethering.

WinMo device as USB modem?

Would it be possible for a Windows Mobile device to emulate an USB 3G modem?
I know it's possible to use them for tethering, but IMO it'd be cool if they were compatible with 3G Routers like this TP-LINK one, allowing anyone to basically use their windows mobile phone as an USB 3G modem.
I'm guessing these devices don't support mobile phones because the phone doesn't advertise itself as an USB modem, but requires PC-side drivers (modem driver) to work. This could be because the phone itself determines what number to call and how to establish a connection, rather than the device operating it as USB host.
So, would it be possible to 'fake' being one of the supported USB 3G modems, and covertly connecting to 3G on the phone's own terms ?
On my phone, just use start/settings/connections/USB to PC (or connect to PC). And choose 'Internet Sharing - Use phone as modem). Or Wi-Fi router if you want to use your mobi as a router!
Yeah like I said I know how to tether using the conventional methods...
However, these use RNDIS I think, which is not particularly 'detected' as a real USB modem. So, 3G routers won't register the device as a modem, even though the device is more than capable to act as one.
Hence my question, whether it's possible to emulate a true USB modem.

[Q] ROM/app with Internet pass-through?

Is there a rom (or program, app, etc.) that allows internet pass-through other than the new sense 3.0 roms that have come out? (the new roms are kinda laggy) I need something to where I can hook up my DInc to my android tablet via USB and use the 3G from my phone to power the internet on my tablet, via the pass-through. Any ideas?
Why not do it wirelessly? I've always had good luck with the app "wireless tether". You can use it on whatever rom you please.
by pass-through do you mean usb tether?
You could try the Synergy RLS1 ROM, it is a 2.1/3.0 hybrid and doesn't have the lag of the pure 3.0 ROMs.
pdanet is a good app for usb tethering. You need to pay for it if you want to access https sites, but it's worth it. Will charge phone while connected.
I want a wired connection because its constant, and a little faster. And yes, I mean tether. I know how to wireless tether, I'd just rather have it corded via USB. Is that the only rom you can think of? Just curious. An aosp rom would be nicer.. quicker.(that's partially why I was looking for an app as well, because you can pick your own rom.)
And I don't want to pay anything haha.
Keep the ideas coming!

[Q] Kernels/ROMs with fast USB transfer speeds?

I'm running stock and have the known very slow USB transfer speeds.
What I would like to know is if there are certain kernels or ROMs that have faster USB 2.0 transfer speeds. Or does just installing the ADB USB driver improve the speed to 2.0 levels?
Thanks
USB transfer speeds using the recovery are faster than the speeds in most OS's. If your KF is rooted, you can transfer files using TWRP, where speeds are must quicker.

I have a desktop app that syncs files and associated status using UMS. So even though the recovery tip is informative, I'm trying to find out about higher speeds with just OS support that all applications would have access to.

[Q] Low net speed using reverse tethering

Can somebody tell my why net speed is so low using reverse tethering on Sense ROMs? Especially the custom ones? May it be caused by USB 2.0 port?

USB OTG ethernet functionality possible for the HOX Tegra 3?

Is there a ROM or kernel which enables usb otg ethernet connection to an ethernet port for internet access?
Any of the CM ROMs support this? (As pure stock android has this feature/asix drivers)
Alternately is there a pure stock L ROM available for the One X Tegra 3?
Are you talking about reverse tethering? I've done it on 2.3 and 4.4, not sure about 5.1 though.

No, I want to use a usb ethernet adapter to connect to the LAN port of a router for internet access. I know Nexus and any device which has usb host ability and runs on pure stock android has this functionality.... any ideas?
