I had that problem with several of the 4.3 roms I was trying along with a call bug. Saw in one of the threads that my recovery/installer might be the problem tho I couldn't see how that wolld effect operations. Ditched TWRP and went with Philz latest. Everything working fine now.
Reflashed zip and that appears to have fixed it. For now.

I'm having a very strange problem with my phone. I am currently using aokp 33, but I had this problem for a while. When I'm at work it says I am in Ljubljana, Slavania. It shows this on my HTC weather widget, hd widget and the built in weather. If I move around town sometimes it shows the right town, but this happens every day when I'm at work. Gps is on, weather is set to update every hour.
Any ideas?

I use Beautiful Widgets and I had to check the option for alternate geolocator because it would always show N/A. Try another program? Granted that isn't a fix as to why its happening, but it's a work around.

Try a stock rom and see if the problem persists. If not, then it's the rom.

I was getting the same issue in beweather. Unrooted locked 4.0.4 LTE.

It's not one program, it's all my weather widgets. I tried other roms, can't say for sure it didn't happen on them. I like aokp and 33 has been good.

Keep getting Greyed out connection have to clear cache and data returns. It says I have full bars but no actual data. What's the issue?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
What version of the ROMs are you running? The grey bar as opposed to the blue bar just means you are not connected to your Google account. You should see a logo above the bars saying 4G, H, or 3G if you have data, regardless of the color.
There is a known issue in the latest cm10.1 nightly builds that cause loss of data. Not sure about AOKP unfortunately.

I'm on task 4.2.1. I get this with only with open source rims. I never lose with touch wiz rims. But I like open source roms better. A reboot clears it up.

The rom is ace besides that.

There are various fixes for the data issue that people have reported success with - re-flashing modems, toggling the mobile data setting repeatedly, playing with APN settings (turn off mobile data, reboot phone, toggle APN setting to something else and back, re-enable mobile data), etc.
Have you looked through the 4.2 threads here?

I would say wipe and reflash. I don't think anyone on Tasks ROM is having this issue. I for one know I'm not. Are you on his latest 12.23 version?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
It's definitely not specific to any rom it happens on aosp roms no matter who makes it. I will try a re flash but I have done that plenty times. I its honestly random and then requires a reboot

I have had a similiar problem in the past and couldn't find a fix. I looked for a good bit but had other options i wanted to try anyway so the answer is probably out there. However after i flashed a the next newest version things were ok. That shouldn't be long in this case and hopefully it works for you.

I have stock gnex on takju, since 4.2.2 I have suffered from lag all over the place, the lag could be fixed by restarting the phone but it would eventually come back.
I have only 300MB of data plan and I noticed that Facebook and facebook messenger where using about 50MB a month on the background without any user interaction and just a couple of days ago I started seeing Facebook app as the second most battery using app just behind screen on, this made me uninstall Facebook and and I instantly saw performance go up all over the place, it was night and day comparison, my phone feels like new and the buttery effect is back.
Now I installed Facebook back just to test and it indeed is the reason for my lag but this time I used greenifyed it and it fixed the lag too.
So there you go, hope this helps

Does matter. I disabled background data (as opposed to removing the app entirely) on Facebook and have noticed substantial speed improvement instantly. The only place you can do it, that I'm aware of, is from the mobile data screen when checking the apps usage.

There are two places to disable notification from Facebook on mobile.
The first would be to go into the settings by clicking on the 3 point button just right of the multitasking navigation key, then disabling notifications.
Second, by clicking on the top left corner button inside the Facebook app, then clicking on privacy settings --> notifications---> mobile push--> uncheck all
Sometimes I think Facebook deliberately tries to complicate the notification settings so as to keep pushing themselves on our faces!

Thanks for the tip, this actually helped a bit.
I've had luck with disabling auto-rotation for some reason. Caused SystemUI to lag after time. Hopefully it'll be patched in 4.3.
S4 stock/rooted, debloated running greenify and all is well, great battery life. All except my stock weather widget. At times it won't update unless I turn on Gps,(I don't use Gps much so will only have on when needed) then it will be fine for a great while, a week or two, then it will stop updating.
Anyone experience this with there weather widget?

Sounds like it's because you don't have gps on in the background all the time like most users.

This thing will work fine for weeks on end, and then (clunk) it stops refreshing. All the time GPS is off, I don't see any option to have GPS on in the background. I'll have GPS on once in a while but not too often. Don't remember reading that GPS needs to be on all the time for the weather widget to work properly.
When it borks, the only way to get it working again is to uninstall widget and reinstall , then it works OK for a while until it stops again.

Google says that restarting / reboot makes it start refreshing again......... can't be restarting my phone several times a day!!!! WTF!
Wife has the Note3 and her weather widget is always upto date. Only difference between phones is she is stock, I'm stock/rooted. ???
Somebody else has got to be having these symptoms, hello!

This happened to me a few times. A reboot or force closing TW usually fixes it. I think it's a bug with TW. Hoping an update comes soon.
yeah i thought it was a bug but hopefully 5.0 comes next month .. just been doin that "reboot" and everytime i come back its a different icon that's not there .. truly dont want to reset everything and do a wipe.

Do you have art enabled?
Switching back to dalvik fixes it.
ive read that davlik messes with the system a good bit switching back and forth ... what is art ... thats what it was on straight from the box
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
Art is a system runtime which is faster but it is not working on our phone at the moment.
A stock phone should be on dalvik but check to make sure anyway because art causes weird things to happen to touchwiz.
thanks for the info .. i havent looked into all that .. maybe i read it the other way around ART is the bad one .. but i know my phone is on ART becuz i figured it went with the new Spen features
