Weather location off. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm having a very strange problem with my phone. I am currently using aokp 33, but I had this problem for a while. When I'm at work it says I am in Ljubljana, Slavania. It shows this on my HTC weather widget, hd widget and the built in weather. If I move around town sometimes it shows the right town, but this happens every day when I'm at work. Gps is on, weather is set to update every hour.
Any ideas?

I use Beautiful Widgets and I had to check the option for alternate geolocator because it would always show N/A. Try another program? Granted that isn't a fix as to why its happening, but it's a work around.

Try a stock rom and see if the problem persists. If not, then it's the rom.

I was getting the same issue in beweather. Unrooted locked 4.0.4 LTE.

It's not one program, it's all my weather widgets. I tried other roms, can't say for sure it didn't happen on them. I like aokp and 33 has been good.

Google maps open

Has anyone else noticed that Google maps is constantly open in the task switcher. I close it. And even force close it. And its back open in a minute or so??
I have turned off all location services and still get it .

what rom are you running. I've only noticed this with tranquil ice and gummy. However, in checking battery usage, maps doesn't show up

ive noticed it in bixie rom and now I am using AOKP. and its the same if i go into app management and kill it 2-3 times when its there it seems to solve the problem. but as you say its not in battery stats
Related to one of the options when you initially set up the phone? Sending location based data to Google for one reason or another perhaps?
I noticed it a couple of times but doesn't seem to be happening these days... Running latest Bigxie build aka Apex 1.0.0...
I'm running on 4.01 stock and sometimes it's open and sometimes its not! Pretty annoying if you ask me...

Google now won't show weather over mobile data!

As the title says.
I can only get the weather card when I have wifi on. If I'm on my mobile data the weather card disappears.
I've got the weather card set to always show.
Anyone got any ideas?

I didn't see the weather for me this morning, but didn't think too much about it. I have it now on wifi at work. I'll have to double check this when I get off. I'm on Vicious 4.1.1 V1.

Yeah thanks mate.
Let me know
It's working fine for me my man. Refreshed a couple times and the weather card is still there. I must've tossed it last night, but it's back.
Is it still missing for you? Do you recall tossing the card?

It showed up again last night after about 8 hours or so.
Strange.
With wifi on its there all the time.
Mobile data always removes the card for some reason.
At least it came back

I have used quite a few JB roms, my GPS works perfectly. It gets locked very quickly.
I have had some GPS problems after jellybean. Read about GPS status app and fast fix app. Installed both. Locks faster than ever.

GPS working perfectly fine on my stock 4.1.1 GSM model.

Hmmm. I have never had issues with my GPS but today for some reason I can't even get a lock outside. I see up to 11 satellites but they don't lock on. This just started happening.
I'm in Texas if that matters.

No, California. I got it to work again. Get faster fix and GPS test. Set faster fix to North America and use GPS test to clear agps

On stock 4.1.1 currently and using maps or navigation my gps lock has been incredibly slow. It also doesn't locate my location very well any more. Was perfect on ICS.

Same here, and I've had the phone (on 4.1.1, unrooted) since Monday. It's always locked quickly before today. It only finally locked on a handful of satellites after more than a half hour of searching.
I'm in Minnesota; maybe it's a CDT thing?
I am having GPS issues today too, been working fine until today. I'm in chicago

Turn off emergency notifications on 4.2.2?

Is there any way to shut off those extremely annoying emergency alerts? I've gotten two rather annoying and pointless severe weather emergency alerts one at 3am & the other at 5am. And before you say I didn't look through the settings or search there is no cell broadcast setting or any way to disable them in messaging on 4.2.2. Any help is appreciated.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm going to make an assumption and guess you're using sprint? If so it has nothing to do with 4.2.2 and everything to do with your carrier. Everyone I know that uses sprint has complained of recently receiving emergency notifications out of nowhere. So I can't help you, but if you're with sprint I'd complain directly to them.

Actually I'm on Verizon so that's why it's more perplexing.

I see. Idk I'd still guess it's carrier related if it just randomly started happening without you changing anything. I've been running 4.2.2 on my GSM G'Nex since it was released and have never gotten anything.

Nope it's the emergency alerts I've seen and had pop up and take over my phone before. In the past I was able to turn them off and plus I uninstalled all apps that might do that about a week ago.

Default aosp won't build the settings menu on properly for the emergency alerts. You have to edit a make file or something somewhere . Are you compiling it yourself? I can look at my setup later and let you know what the actual edit is if you are.

I thought I always checked that when building from AOSP...guess I forgot . If you want, you can probably dirty flash this rom. It's based off of the google image, so everything should work correctly.
Are you sure it isn't Google Now?
It's actually under the stock messaging app. Open messaging app and hit the 3 dots (settings) and choose Cell broadcasts. Then hit the 3 dots again and uncheck the alerts from there.

I already stated in the first post that the option to turn that off in messaging is not there for me. That was my first thought when this happened as that's where I had previously turned them off. Thanks though

Sorry, I must have misread that last part in the op. That's odd. I thought all stock messaging apps had that option. Hope you get it figured out soon.
I'm assuming you're from Pittsburgh too and got all those flash flood warnings? At some point stock gave me the choice to turn it off but I don't know about your settings.

Weather widget won't update.

S4 stock/rooted, debloated running greenify and all is well, great battery life. All except my stock weather widget. At times it won't update unless I turn on Gps,(I don't use Gps much so will only have on when needed) then it will be fine for a great while, a week or two, then it will stop updating.
Anyone experience this with there weather widget?

This thing will work fine for weeks on end, and then (clunk) it stops refreshing. All the time GPS is off, I don't see any option to have GPS on in the background. I'll have GPS on once in a while but not too often. Don't remember reading that GPS needs to be on all the time for the weather widget to work properly.
When it borks, the only way to get it working again is to uninstall widget and reinstall , then it works OK for a while until it stops again.
