Can anyone attach a file to a post using stock Android browser? It simply does not react to the "choose file" buttons in the popup window.

As above, I'm using htc desire by the way.
Anyone can help out on this?

I think what you're looking for is called LatinIME.apk.
You can either get it and extract it from a ROM that already has it - LeeDroid 1.8 (in sys/apps) for instance and use adb to push it to your device (or copy it to your sd card and use a file manager like Android Mate that you can download from the market and use the 'instal' tab) - or, search about and you might find someone has created a zip file that you can flash from recovery.
Does that mean there is no apk that I can install with?

I'd like this keyboard too! It's by far the best one I've used on my desire.
However. It seems to be very difficult to get it!
OK - here's how I did it...
* Download the attached apk file to the root of your SD card.
* Install the apk
I used 'Android Mate' to do this (available for free from the market). This is done by selecting the install tab across the top of Android Mate which will find the apk you just downloaded. Tap on it to install.
There are probably a heap of different ways to install the apk - I just find the Android Mate way the easiest - no need for commands etc. and the software is free.
* Restart your Desire.
* Go to email, select menu > compose and hold your finger down on the text input area. This will give you an option to select 'input method'. Choose Android Keyboard and off you go.
Does that mean that if i want to use the keyboard, I have to keep doing 'Go to email, select menu > compose and hold your finger down on the text input area. This will give you an option to select 'input method'. Choose Android Keyboard and off you go.' ?

Nup - do it once and it becomes the default.
You can always change it back to the HTC keyboard using the same method (tap and hold) if you want.
Hi there, I downloaded the apk that you have posted but can't install it. I think the apk that you have sent is faulty.
Yup, I could not install the apk that you have posted.

What message does it give?
Is your device rooted?
Do you have it set to load applications from unknown sources? (settings > applications> tick the unknown sources box)?
My device is not rooted. It says the file cannot be parsed.
Yup.. still cannot...
Hi I have asked this question in the rom section but I guess it got overrun
Anyway the problem I am having when I use any HTC Sense rom and if I download file using the browser on the phone say for example abc.zip the file download as 1.bin
Can someone please explain how to correct thin problem or it a known short coming of all htc sense rom I do not have this issue with defrost rom.
Many Thanks
I havent got a clue how to stop it doing it but after its downloaded just use your file explorer to change the extention to apk then you can run it
There is some information on this thread it seems like few others where having the same problem

For me renaming it after the download does not work. What works, though, is renaming it before the download has started, when the browser displays the download confirmation window. Then simply change the extension from .bin to .zip. I'm using Samsung J500FN.
I made the Samsung Galaxy S3 hardkeys to Galaxy Nexus Softkeys.
Flashable with Metamorph or do it manually.
Did not try it, hope someone else can do it because my GNEX is in reperature.
Please post some screens if you flash it, so I can see and make it better, some updates etc.

Tutorial:
MetaMorph
Download and install MetaMorph from the Market, open it at least once so that the folder AndroidThemes will be created on /sdcard/
Download a Softkey Style using the MetaMorph link and move this .zip file to /sdcard/AndroidThemes using your favorite file explorer
Open MetaMorph, choose "Unzip/Extract new theme" and select the .zip file you downloaded. A popup screen will appear, meaning it has been extracted. Press the "Close" button.
Hit the "Apply all!" button and wait +/- 5 seconds (nothing will happen)
Reboot your phone immediately after this and you're done! Oh, and set a new wallpaper because it may be restored to default..
(Phone can hang in "SystemUI has been ended". Just pull out battery and restart phone.
2. Advanced (Hard) Method - Edit the SystemUI.apk from your phone - thanks to bangdrum! Not working for everybody!
Download and install Root Explorer from the Market and make a Nandroid backup
Download the softkeymod you like
Open Root Explorer and navigate to /system/app/, find SystemUI.apk, long press, and select extract. Go to the folder sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted and make sure you have a folder that's called SystemUI
If the folder is there navigate to where you downloaded the chosen softkeymod (usually sdcard/download) and long press it. Select extract all. Go to sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted and there should be a folder with the name of the softkeymod.
Click on this folder, and also on the next. Hit the menu key and press 'Multi Select'. Highlight all the images included in the folder and select 'Move' at the bottom. Navigate back to the SystemUI folder, go to SystemUI/res/drawable-xhdpi and 'Paste' here. A command prompt should pop up asking to replace the current images. Select 'Yes For All'
Go back to the sdcard/speedsoftware/extracted folder, long press the SystemUI folder and select 'Create ZIP'
Rename the created SystemUI.zip to SystemUi.apk and move the SystemUI.apk to your /system/app folder. Change permissions of SystemUI.apk to rw-r--r--
Reboot your Galaxy Nexus (pull battery out and reboot, this is an essential step) and your softkeys will be modded!

Hey all. I'm sure this is an easy answer, but I'm having mega difficulty opening Odin on my machine. The program flashes on and then off. I'm trying to root my s3 without tripping the counter. Any advice?
Make sure it's the right odin.. There's a computer windows odin that's way different than the odin for Android. Search it on Google and you'll find an odin under some root post
Sounds like your missing the INI or DLL files that go with it. Try this instead http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2017470
Also remember to right click on the odin.exe file, and select "run as administrator" from the popup menu (just in case you have been double clicking the file)
Device: Samsung T800 chagallwifi
I'm trying to select a zip file in the updater's setting to be flashed after the OS. The select dialog allows to browse to the file but whenever I tab on it, it opens the zip, i.e. showing its content, instead of selecting it.
Any idea would be appreciated.
Ok, it needs to be marked via long press and then selected via "open". Not exactly intuitive but it works.
