[Q] No signal (bars) after reassembly - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi all, I'm running SlimBean 4.3.2. I had a piece of pencil lead stuck in my microphone slot yesterday, so I disassembled my phone to take it out. Once I was able to get it out I reassembled it and powered on, and my SIM card would read but I had no signal bars on my status bar, and I could not send or receive calls or texts.
Some things I have tried to fix the problem:
Checking all connections/traces, nothing broken
Different MicroSIM (still AT&T)
No SIM (no 'insert SIM card/SIM card missing' prompt)
Changing network mode (which is best?)
Checked IMEI (no change)
APNs are fine (on AT&T LTE)
Also, after running diagnostic codes dealing with the network, I keep getting "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Should I look into replacing my SIM/SD holder or antenna assembly or would it be an issue with the main board?
Thanks!

[Q] No WCDMA Connectivity

Hi , new to HTC forum,
I 'm facing a really strange problem with my HTC ONE X
I can;t connect to WCDMA networks at all. When I go into Network Selection , If I choose the WCDMA only option the phone goes offline plus in search for networks setting, returns, Error Searching For Networks
When I switch back to GPRS or GPRS/WCDMA Auto option , I got full bar signal with Edge connection.
The day before I was facing several connectivity issues, mostly sim went off and on again , due to bad cut - I think- of the sim card
The sim card I'm using now is also a cut version of a normal sim card. Is it possible that the bad sim card can damage something on the reception of the phone, or the new one does not fit well inside the phone(althought it is carefully cutted there are some tinny gaps between the card and the card holder) that causes?
I think that if this was an antenna option i wouldn't got any signal at all.
I have already arrange to change the sim card to a new already micro sim card
I'm trying to avoid sending my phone to service because the customer support is horrible here in Greece
Any help or opinion would be appreciated
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Weird Issue with my S3

Hi there,
I have been having a very weird issue with my phone lately, I originally put a Simcard in my S3 and it happened to bend the Simcard reader pins. After purchasing a new model of the Simcard tray and getting it installed by a professional (OEM Part) It does not read my Simcard, instead it gives me a notifcation "Emergency Calls only" When putting the same Simcard into another same model (Samsung Galaxy s3 i747) It picks up a signal automatically. However, what is the weird issue is... When putting a bell/virgin simcard into my current phone it picks up a signal (Able to pickup calls & Send Messages) How can this be?
PS. I am almost certain this phone is Unlocked.
Thanks for your contributions.

Check the APN settings and make sure they are set to your carrier.

Could this be the actual issue? Since I am using the "PETRO CANADA MOBILITY" Sim/Network, And it does run/associated on the "Rogers Wireless Network" When booting up my phone it does detect a "Petro Canada Mobility" network in the phone menu after searching. However when pressing on it, it fails by saying "No Service Detected" Then quickly re-searches and hooks up to "ROGERS WIRELESS" (Also Gives me 4G DATA connection) Rogers - which is the factory setting APN setting. However, when placing a call it tells "Mobile Network Unavailable" why does this seem not to be the case when I put in a Virgin Mobile sim or Bell Mobility simcard?
I will try to change the APN hopefully this well effect the outcome. :good:

[Q] insert sim card to access network services

Hi Guys.
So received the phone on Thursday, Friday I did a sim swap from my normal sized sim to a micro sim. I waited the whole day but the phone didn't have any network access.
Today when I woke up I I switched the phone on hoping that everything will be fine, thinking the simswap just hasn't gone through yet, still no network access. I took out the swim from the phone and switched with my ipad, the sim was working in the ipad, and the ipads sim also didnt give the phone network access.
In the top right corner it shows full bars in grey, cant make emergency calls or anyhting.
In the about section of the phone, I have ALL the details present, baseband version is there, kernel version is there.
In Status section, network is unkown, signal strenght is -83 dbm 15 asu, network type unkown, service state is out of service, and the rest is also present.
I thought the phone didn't properly register to a network, so went into settings - wireless networks - more settings - mobile networks, but it gives me a insert sim card message.
The phone is reading the simcard fine because it asked for the PIN when switching on.
When trying to make a call I get, it says "Not registered on network"..
So what am I to do? Vodacom can only pickup the phone and exchange it on Tuesday, so was hoping that this might just be a software issue that can be resolved by a flash.
I have tried resetting / hard resetting the phone numerous times.
Its the Note 2 N7105 LTE Version
Any help would be highly appreciated.

GSM service stopped working ('No service'), even though SIM loaded

Hey guys,
I've got a problem.
My s4 mini stopped loading cell signal from GSM network service. The SIM is loaded, as I can see it even in some programmes like Network Info. It even shows the name of the operator.
Even though the SIM card is loaded (it does NOT show "no sim card" error), I cannot get any service. Used 2 different network service providers, but still nothing. I changed GSM antenas and also SIM+SDcard slots on the motherboard, but still nothing.
What can the cause be, any idea?
Thanks.

Replaced Mainboard - "Not registered on network", Network bars & IMEI present

Replaced Mainboard - "Not registered on network", Network bars & IMEI present
Hello, my Note2 phone had a call problem (would dial but no audio/voice) so I bought a cheap replacement board (ie no guarantee), seller said it needed firmware fix.
Swapped over and on boot saw a Kies prompt to reset firmware load - so I flashed TWRP and a Lineage rom in Odin and brought it back to life.
However, Network strength was zero and no calls possible. After many tweaks, swapping SIM cards, I reflashed stock 4.4.2 rom. Now I have good signal strength in the taskbar, my board IMEI is present but the dialler returns "not registered on network". Phone status shows signal strength, correct network but Service State - out of service and Mobile network state - Disconnected. Just flashed MODEM.tar.md5 but no change there.
Could this be a hardware issue? ie why the board was cheap? If so, is it the SIM reader (ie replaceable) or other component? Happy to cannibalise parts from 2 boards to make one working. Or maybe another soft issue I am not aware of?
thx
The sim card and SD card reader are contained in the same part and is swappable.
Does the phone detect a sim card? Is it possible the imei has been blacklisted?

Tried swapping that part, no joy; when I remove SIM and reboot I get the no sim card message. Yes a blacklist is possible who knows.
Considering throwing in the towel now, my main Note 2 makes calls, but has no NFC and no audio via jack; my 2nd cannot make/receive calls and now the 'replacement' board is possibly toast. Might just part out the lot and get a new phone now
You can check the imei for blacklisting here: https://swappa.com/esn
