[Q] How to exit boot loop

I wanted to downgrade my arc s from .62 to .42 so i can root. I flashed it and after the process finished, i disconnected the phone and it started into a boot loop. I can't do anything now. How to fix this? I tried flahsing it once more but the phone is not recognized. Im afraid that the battery will dry out and afraid that it will brick the phone because when i plug it in to the power suply, doesn't shows any signs of charging.
How can i fix this please? Thanx

Pull battery out to exit the boot loop.
And then reflash the FW using Flashtool.

if i pull it out, wont it brick my phone? Thanx

Why it should brick your device?
How do you put your SIM or microSD in without pulling out the battery?

You can fix flashing a new kernel, like DoomLord kernel v18.

Simply pull out battery and reflash the rom to solve...

I fixed it. I had to flash another firmware because the one i used in the first place didn't work.
Now that im rooted, how can i update to the latest firmware? As i heard, can i do it over the air? Now im .266 and id like on .62.

not sure about what happen if you update ota with your rooted fw,but you can update using flashtool,find some fw from dev section..

landis, the current firmware that he used should be not compatible with the kernel, some Roms not compatible, then i said to him to flash kernel, like DoomLord kernel, than fixed it...

You don't know which ROM he wants to flash, he just flashed .42 FW for root and ended up in a boot loop.
He can solve this with my instructions given in the replies, so there is no need to flash a kernel atm.

If you haven't modded some system apps and your BL is locked, OTA should work as well.

Thanx everyone for your replies. I managed to get out of the boot loop but i am still very confused what am i doing wrong because cyanogenmod doest work. I unlocked the boot loader, rooted, instaled clockwork mod, wiped the datas and caches, instaled from sd card and i always get stuck on that blue cyanogen logo while alternating witht the green press android to begin screen, 4 out of 5 times with unresponsive touchscreen. On time it managed to get to homescreen but briefly because rapidly in changed again to that blue screen loading and after a couple times i saw the cyanogen lock screen but without being able to do anything while looping in that booting or loading sequence with that blue logo screen. Im tired and confused of tryin this over an over again, and now im on .266 firmware and i guess because i have unlocked the bootloader i cant update to .42 ota and i cant find another .42 firmware for arc s that wouldnt get stuck after flashing. Any sugestions ? Thanx guys

Hello my Xperia ics arc with 4:03 s. rooted, I have installed in me bow down CWN Well, after I Clicked-thru these steps to install the forum 80.4 ics I Made cahe wipe, and then format date and system restarts and I have to reboot and now I only shows up on the screen and SONY ahi not pass.
Please as I can fix it?, I WOULD HELP

You didnt flash the recommended kernel..

U can flash the original ICS .ftf file with flashtool and your phone should be ok.Dont forget to do it in flash mode !

Please Help me...im freaked...Newby.. I just installed a custom rom on my arc s... but i think i didnt folow the the instructions so good...so now after i installed the rom the boot gets stuck sony logo.the led light wont even light up..an i cant even restore it with cwm..My bad was that i forgot to flash the kernel...I think..But i said it doesnt have to if i have locked bootloader...i have been stuck with this 4 days already search everywhere for help..please help desperate call.phone is expensive in my country

It's never easy to really brick an arc than a galaxy tablet, had the mainboard replaced. flashtool really a very good tool to revive an arc.

Hi, Janto
For me, just flashing a custom rom it can't block u getting into cwm. It may stuck with the Kernel's logo/bootAnimation but should passes the CWM notification first.
If you could provide info(Name & version) of your kernel & rom, it would be better for us to help you bring your expensive device back to life:fingers-crossed:
My suggestion is:
1. Use Fastboot to flash a good kernel (Anyone from the development section), then CWM, thought you know how to do a flash again
2. If above step not works, download flashtool (The top thread in the development section) and a complete tft files, then do a flash using the flashtool, this should give you a brand new phone.
BTW: you r BL or not? search for X-parts if u r still locked.

I have the arc s and i installed LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.World.1254-2184 rooted. and over confusion of information flashed ICS jelly bean remix and now stuck on the screen saying sony :'( please someone help finding every bit of information i get confuses me more

flash the generic.world 0.431 rom again and it'll be fixed

Only way out is to flash the firmware to stock using flashtool, I've done that alot of times when it stuck at the sony screen.

[Q] bootloop after install ROM ICS BETA

how to install ics beta rom on xperia arc s, I searched in google and i read this thread: http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...e-for-unlocked-2011-xperia-smartphone-models/ and this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513172 .. and I followed step by step to install ics rom beta on that thread, after I did all that I read in thread revive my phone but I stuck at bootanimation logo and can not get into the main menu and then my phone restarted by itself, my phone ARC S (LT 18i),fw:4.0.2.A.0.42 gingerbread ,root acess and bootloader is unlock, can you all help me to install the ROM ICS BETA in my ARC S? please guided me step by step so that my phone not having bootloop anymore, because I am a beginner in custom rom, please help me

Read the guides here and install the latest. And if you've googled about what to do when boot looped you'd know to reflash the stock ROM and try again. There's been about 10 "boot loop" this past month.

[Q] Getting out of a bootloop without CWM

My phone is a Xperia Arc (also known as lt15i) and it is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader.
It runs on Android 2.3.4.
I wanted to install CWM, and followed a guide for that.
Since I can't link the guide, I can just say that it's name was "How to root sony ericsson xperia arc lt15i and install custom rom" and tht is was on listenmefirst.
From that guide, all i did was option 2 for installing CWM.
At the end of the guide, it says "reboot your phone", and I did, and now it's stuck in a boot loop.
I've tried several different keycombinations without anything happening (holding down volume / holding left and right buttons / holding home+volume up). It does however blink a blue light when I hold left and right button, but it seems to have no effect.
So my question is: is there any way to get out of this bootloop?

if you have an unlocked bootloader you can simply flash a kernel that has CWM though fastboot or flashtool
Since your on 2.3.4, this may sound obvious, use a gingerbread kernel.

Then you need a kernel that supports ICS.
there's no possible way for me to brick your phone if you already have an unlocked bootloader. You can wipe everything off and start over. Everything can be solved.

If you just wanted to get out of the bootloop (like your title lol) then you need to flash GB kernel.
If you want to go to ICS you need to put an ICS ROM onto your SD card, flash kernel, then install rom

I did try to find a solution by reading, but everything I found implied I had CWM.

Not in my guide, which is a sticky, it doesn't, but as you're sorted now you know what to do in future.
