Hi , I'm having problems with my Galaxy T999. I have rooted and have not yet installed any kernels/roms. The only thing i did was installed a couple apps from the play store . and wanted to check out the CWM recovery menu and was going to try to installed "hyperX camera mod". First thing i did was shut off the phone . Then pressed on the Volume up+Home+Power button . After doing that my phone didn't turn on or anything , no vibration or anything . I hooked it on with my computer and press the power button and it was able to connect and then disconnected. I am at lost now and can't seem to find any answer . Have looked every where not sure what to do now. Any solution will be much appreciated .
***
It seems to disconnect due to no driver found for QHUSUB_DLOAD .
Without any solutions I'll probably gonna get my phone replace . T_T
Does your phone disconnect immediately, or does it stay connected for a brief amount of time? If it stays connected briefly, try using adb during this period to boot into recovery. The command is "adb reboot recovery" (without the quotes).

Try to remove your battery then plug in charger. See if you can turn on. If you can turn it on, leave it 30 minutes. Then put in the battery.
By the looks of the result the computer gives you when you plug it in, seems it is hard bricked! Are you sure you didn't flash anything from the I9300 section like a rom?

The hyper x camera mod isnt entirely for our phone. I've read that it's flashable to our phone though, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Maybe the OP needs to link where he got the mod. Ih and stay away from the intl version all together.

Yup its a paperweight. The Intl version has the system partition in a different place. So you borked an important one.
Only thing that's throwing me off is that the OP suggests he didn't actually get around to flashing the mod.

SGS3 T999v wont start up.
My sgs3 t999v would turn off by itself every other time I hit the lock button.
like I would be txting and then if I hit the lock button it would turn off.
So I though a factory reset would fix the problem. (volume up + home).
after the reset it still kept turning off randomly.
and now I cant even get it to the normal interface. or get in to the manual reset mode.
Device was previously jail broken, however was returned back to stock and was working fine for 3 months.
I had my otterbox on for every fall my phone had, so I dont think it would be a hardware issue.
the phone was running 4.1.1 I believe.
stock rom.
help please! :C

Can you get download mode? (Volume down, HOME and power)
Even though you have a case on it, it sounds like it was probably damaged by one of the falls. Most cases as far as I'm aware mostly protect the display. The shock from impact can still damage internal components, even with a case built with this in mind.

Hey thanks for replying!
I drained the battery and got a new charge in it and managed to get it booted up
however now the problem of the lock button is still here.
like if i use it to lock my screen it just turns off on me, and it takes multiple times for me to get the phone up and running again.
you could see if you could find a widget or widgets that will basically put a button on your screen that can power off, enable lock screen, reboot recovery/download, etc.
Then just use the HOME button to turn the screen back on.
It sounds to me like a hardware problem, but if you can flash another Rom and do a full wipe/factory reset you'll know for sure.
I hope this helps. Not sure what else you can do besides getting it repaired or replaced unfortunately.
Maybe someone else will have a better idea though.

It maybe a corpse we don't know it yet. If it is a hard brick, I don't think we can do much. But if it is a soft brick than there maybe some life left in your phone.
My question is can you boot into recovery or download mode? If yes, then you are in luck. You can still revive your phone. I assume you know how to enter these since you are confident enough to mess with swap.

OK let me see what happens when I connect my phone to the PC while it is off to see if I get the same message as you do. Maybe this will be a useful info for someone who has more knowledge than I do.
If it is the screen problem, maybe when you turn it on, vibrations and sound should work. Turn it on, wait a while and hit the volume keys to see if you get any sound at all..Of course make sure that your battery is charged. Or you can try to call yourself. But I don't know whether the soft key lights are connected to screen or not. As I understand they don't do anything either.
Last question, what happens when you hit the power button when the phone is off and connected to the charger. Do you see battery icon on the screen?
One other possibility I forgot last time is that maybe your power button is at fault here. Try pushing it really hard to see if that works..
Some bad info for you, I heard that some cases dealing with swap partition on our phone may lead to hardbricks....

Do you have a friend who has a galaxy w? Can you ask someone to try to turn on your phone with their battery?
I don't think a phone would turn itself off by simply viewing a file. Food you change anything in there?
Also your body heat or humidity would not harm a phone unless we are talking actual water damage.

I never ever do root my phone!
So, again me being a dumb teenager i bricked my phone. AGAIN!!! :crying: :crying: :crying: So yeah can anyone help me i really dont want to ask my parents to return the phone for the cost of my warranty (and i have a flash counter of 2 so if noone helps me i am screwed) >_<
More info: I had Italian job on my jelly bean 4.1.2, my recovery isn't working, and my phone is not detected by odin ( i dunno why ), It all happened in me flashing a kernel trough terminal and my phone had the phone's model screen of death ;(((((
Please HELP !!!
Take out the battery, connect the phone to pc using usb cable, put the battery back. If pc detects phone as u8500 you have hard brick. If that is the case then jtag with riff or medusa box is only solution.
Don't worry about flash counter thats no problem because if hardbricked that you can't go in download mode or recovery or see start logo then they have to change mainboard and all data and falsh counter are away had it two times with flash counter and no problems

Stop spreading this theory about changing main boards. Please, explain why would anybody change main board when it is cheaper just to jtag phone, if it is hard bricked? Seems lots of people here dont know the difference between hard and soft brick also.

Have you tried taking out battery like i suggested? It is very unlikely that phone cant be detected that way. It is more likely that your battery is empty. Put it to charge a bit and than try again.
I send my phone in and they changed the mainboard so i though that's normal
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
My battery was charged when i connected it, otherwise it wouldn't even power on .... :/
If battery was all the time in phone after the brick, it would drain out in few days. If screen is turned off that doesn't mean everything is off. But it seems like a hard brick, so jtag or "changing the mainbord" seems like only solution.
Do you still have warrenty?

I was on fb with my SGH - T999, the whole day the phone kept freezing, and turning off.
The last time, i was on fb and opened my gallery the phone just froze, shut down and refused to turn back on.
I tried charging, no light, no vibration. Tried power, home volume up nothing came up,
With the battery in i get no light
however when i take battery out, and put charger in i get a red light as if its charging
I still cant turn it on tho...
EDIT:
When i plug into computer, i hear a sound, but the comp says device not recognized. Please tell me this can be fixed
Also i have no warranty anymore...
Sounds like it could be bricked. Can you get it into download mode manually.

How do i do that, I tried the volume up,home and power, and i also tried volume down.
I didn't do anything in terms of flashing roms...so it cant be bricked can it?
Yes it can technically speaking I guess. Brick is meant a device that has no worth to it besides holding things down such as a brick would be used for. CPUs fail all the time this happens unfortunately on the s3 and other handsets as well.

See if you can download Odin 3.07 (you may need to install Samsung drivers as well). Once you get Odin running, plug in your phone. It should say COM# (where # is a number).
You say you were on original firmware. Did you make any changes? Flash anything? Or was it only using fb?
EDIT: The other possibility is to restart the phone in recovery (volume up + home + power) and do a factory reset. Unfortunately, that means losing all of your data, but it should hopefully get your phone running again.

I think there is a problem with the motherboard. This problem is called "sudden death syndrome"
Anyone know where i can get a SGH-T999 motherboard replaced cheap in Toronto,Ontario?
Sudden death syndrome is referring to an issue in the original firmware on the I9300. The T999 isn't plagued by this at all and the firmware isn't the culprit. The device is, however, over a year old, and hardware can, and does, fail sometimes.
Check google and ebay for your part.

Could it be hardbricked then: I wasn't flashing any firmware at all. I only rooted the phone to install some apps, but that was months ago, and i left the phone on 4.1.1
If it is hardbricked can i then just JTAG it back to life and not have to buy a new motherboard?
It sounds like it is a hardware failure, unfortunately.

Hello
Some days ago, I rooted my Samsung Galaxy s4 mini succesfully and it was all great, untill the SU binary had to be updated. I had a custom recovery so I tapped on the custom recovery option and not normal. I had a little battery. The screen went off. It got back and that was it. It was not to boot ever again. No matter if charged or what. I tried to boot to recovery. I took battery off, held upper volume button+home+power button and got battery in while I was holdin them. I even tried without holding the power button. Nothing. Plugging it in charger won't even turn the screen on.
Is it bricked? PLEASE tell me no. Is there ANY way to fix this? Do not care about reseting or what. Just wanna fix it. In addition, I do not know if its useful but, I had swap space too in my SD card. But is not booting in any way with SD out either.
HELP. Thanks in advance ^^
Oh and if I can't fix it, is there any way I could pull my data from the internal?
Thank you

Ok, this may sound strange but try it... in a dark room, try and power the device on. Does the screen blink at all? It may power on and display a black screen so it may be difficult to see in day light. If it does the battery may be fine..
If it doesn't do anything it may indicate a problem is with the power source - your battery..
Also, when you're trying to enter download and recovery you're keeping all buttons held down aren't you? I've made that mistake many times myself so I know how easy it is to forget! (I normally reboot to recovery from the OS using the developer options).
I'm suspecting it's hard-bricked. Then this may be the only help;
- Buy a USB-JIG online
- Make sure that the devices battery has charged (even if it doesn't show charging animation)
- Remove your battery
- Plug the USB-JIG inside your phone
- Wait 3 minutes and put the battery back inside
- Wait 40 seconds and the "download mode" screen should appear

I'm intrigued by the jig mentioned above!
Personally, my next step would be the cheapest phone battery I could find.. that would help you diagnose where the phones at the quickest. If 2 batteries won't turn your phone on then it may be game over... but for the sake of a few £/$ it's surely worth a shout!

Buy a £5 USB-JIG, it will help you for sure. Keep the phone connected to the mains for 2 hours, even though there's not thing that's showing that's connected. Then remove the battery for 30 seconds, connect it again, and connect the USB-JIG. Bam, you're in download mode ready to flash a firmware with odin.
If the phone didn't boot after connecting the jig, then buy the battery because then you have a positive indication that the battery is the problem for you.

To summarize, it honestly does magics and makes your screen available again.
It has 3 resistors in it. And it somehow boots the phone up.

Just search for a USB-JIG on ebay. All of them are compatible with the s4 mini. It is approximately €5.
