Strange issue, unable to flash stock image. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello People,
I have a strange issue with my Galaxy Nexus (GSM version), I am not sure if I have bricked it.
I was on Custom Rom.. but suddenly started facing issues..
My phone boots alright but after boot I am not able to use the phone for more than a minute, the phone starts to reboot.
I have tried the below troubleshooting steps.
1). Tried full wipe, factory reset thru recovery (TWRP), the recovery tool says factory reset was sucessfull but when i reboot the phone it still boots to the old custom rom and start rebooting every min or two.
2). Tried flashing a different custom rom after a clean wipe, but issue remains as above
3). Tried flashing a stock image thru odin tool, but it fails at a certain point (tried both 4.3.1 & 4.2.2 stock images) and abck to square one.
Is there anyway that i can get my phone up & running ? or it is a hardware issue ?
Please help me out here

try flashing the stock image through fastboot.

It seems like we have the same problem :/

Possible brick

I had to resolve to making a thread because google isn't helping... And I've looked through everything.
I was running Hurricane rom v6 and I wanted to upgrade to the latest version, so I went ahead and tried to install the mj5 bootloader. I followed all the instrcutions but something didn't seem right... Right after the flashing process in Odin finished, my phone rebooted into the recovery (CWM PhilzTouch) instead of rebooting to the OS. I went to check if the new bootloader was installed and I don't think it was, because it didn't say KNOX WARRANTY VOID as it was supposed to, according to the instructions.
So I tried it again a few times and eventually what happened is that I got the "go into Kies and do the emergency recovery etc" which I did, a few times, unsuccessfully. It failed every time. So I uninstalled Kies, went back to Odin, tried to a few other ports, and finally it finished the flashing process successfully.
Now I can get into both recovery and download mode, but when I try to reboot the phone, the Galaxy Note 2 logo shows up, after that the screen goes black and then the phone vibrates every two seconds until i remove the battery.
I tried going back to recovery and then factory reset the phone but still the same thing happens. Now I'm downloading the stock firmware from samsung to try to flash that since I can still get to download mode but it's going to take an hour and until then I wanted to ask if the vibrating behavior was normal or it indicated a more serious problem. In all fairness I haven't tried installing the new version of the Hurricane rom after I tried flashing the new bootloader, but I figured that as long as I don't know that I have the new bootloader for sure I'd rather skip that step.
Any ideas?

[Q] Can't install fresh ROM

Hi folks,
I'd appreciate some assistance in identifying the problem with my sm-p605. The color balance (RGB) on it went all bonkers. Red was alright, but the green and blue were almost completely faded. When I booted into download mode the colors were right, so I figured it's gotta be a software problem. I tried re-installing the firmware, first through Kies, but it got disconnected in the process, so I found stock firmware on sammobile and flashed it with Odin with a PASS. After that, the device would get stuck in a boot loop with "recovery booting....." written in the top left corner whether I tried to boot it normally or in recovery mode. But the download mode still worked so I tried flashing a custom recovery. I don't know if a device needs to be priorly rooted for that, but I flashed CF Auto Root and TWRP both with a PASS. After that, the device still wouldn't boot into recovery mode. It would say "recovery is not seandroid enforced". I tried several supposedly compatible versions of the recovery with the same result. But now it does boot normally into the OS except none of the things I flashed stuck. It's still the same non altered system it was before I did anything with it, even though I re-installed stock firmware twice now, second time even with Kies. So what's going on?
I took a screenshot of the app drawer after all this, and the colors are alright when viewed on a computer screen, so it might be a hardware issue after all, although I don't have a definite conclusion since capturing and displaying aren't the same part of the OS. There are other issues with it being non responsive when I'm trying to wake it up. I still want a fresh ROM so I can know for sure and I'm not able to install one, be it custom or stock. Any ideas?
I'll try to be clearer. Current ROM I have is stock 4.4.2, but it's barely usable, so I wan't a fresh one. I cannot get into recovery mode. If I flash stock firmware, I cannot boot into either the OS or recovery. If I flash custom recovery on top of that I still can't boot into it, but I can boot into the OS, which reverts itself like I never flashed fresh stock. So I'm stuck with what seems to be a corrupt OS with no way of installing a new one. Is there something I can try?
If you can flash a custom recovery. Boot into it and try factory reset. Either that or try a custom ROM if any are available (font have tablet)
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Free mobile app
Factory reset was the first thing I tried, I wish it had been that simple. I can flash a custom recovery, but I can't boot into it. The only thing it acomplishes is breaking the bootloop from stock recovery, so I can boot back into the OS, which stays the same no matter if I flashed new stock (it boots up already user configured). To install custom ROM I need custom recovery, unless there are some methods of installing that don't require flashing from storage.

[Q] smp600 -Stuck between a soft brick and a hard brick.

Hi guys, I was wondering if i could get some help here before resulting to rma .
I flashed a custom kernel over my custom rom (rom was initially working great before i flashed kernel). But it turned out the kernel i flash was the wrong one for the smp600. I did some research last night and flashed several stock firmwares (..CNH1, ..COB1, ..BMK1, ...) via PDA in ODIN. i managed to install custom recovery (TWRP) and used that to wipe cache and Dalvik - didn't quiet help. I also performed factory reset in both stock and custom recovery, no change. These were the outcome
--Tablet is recognized by pc in download mode only and ODIN works.
--After boot into android there is serious lag, restart after a few seconds and the cycle continues.
--After a while TW settles but the note is not recognizable by pc via USB
--Also instead of the first "Galaxy Note 10.1 2014" that first appears when note is turned on, the whole screen just displays several colored lines as if it were actually broken.
I would really appreciate the time you take off your busy schedule to help me with this, thanks.

Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 bricked

Hey. Thought I should flash cyanogenmod 11 into my mom's phone. When I did it, realized that Ace couldn't connect to carrier for some reason. Anyways I decided to get back to stock GB. I've already tried to flash maybe four stock builds of GB and JB (they were all from "SamMobile") through Odin, but none of them really boot up, I get stuck at Samsung logo.
Recovery won't work, even if I flash a new one through odin ( f.e. this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532591 )
Download mode does work.
I saw there was this 3-part GB installation file from a russian guy, which I should have used, but it's already deleted in "Yandex". I live in Lithuania, so I'm supposed to use SEB version of firmware. I was wondering could someone reupload it ?
I tried to fix Ace through Kies, but it says that GT-I8160 recovery isn't available for some reason...
Any answers greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
After flashing the sammobile rom with odin, if it doesn't boot, go to recovery (the original one coming with the original rom), and do a factory reset/wipe data. This helped for me.
The problem is that even if I try to enter recovery (power + vol up + home), it stays stuck at samsung logo
You can try to insist by continuing pressing the 3 buttons for recovery even if the phone reboot. If you're stuck in a boot loop, you can also try to remove the battery to switch it off and switch it on again by pressing the 3 buttons.
For me the odin flash of JB rom + recovery clean up always solved the problem. I don't know any other way.

Do the official ROMs (tar.md5) come with official recovery, or do I have to flash one seperately ?
The official ROM include an official recovery, you don't need to flash another one.
i too needed to go back to the stock from from cm11, because i cannot get wi-fi direct to work.
i flashed an xxmf1 rom, but when the phone rebooted, a message said samsung set up wizard has stopped, and i cannot get past it. this is even after doing a factory reset.
i went back to cm 11, and flashed the stock rom again. this time, the rom flashes in odin, but takes long to go from reset to pass, and windows now says hardware id is missing.
the phone goes black after the samsung logo, and cwm is still installed.
any help would be appreciated.
edit: fixed by flashing the three-part gb rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141930
Turns out I disconnected my Ace 2 too early (dammit). As soon as I saw "RESET" in odin, I thought it has finished flashing and I disconnected it before it goes into recovery and flashes everything. Never thought I could be that stupid.
Thanks for replies tho :good::good::good:

Did you boot to stock recovery and perform a factory wipe before booting the stock rom for the first time?
