Hey all, since I rooted and installed bonestock I've been getting errors when playing content on google play movies.
Specifically I'm getting error 31 - "there was a problem while playing, touch to retry". The movies won't even start, it's very disappointing considering I love consuming media on the One. Anyone else had this problem or figured out a workaround?

I've been away from flashing ROM's until recently, and unless I'm mistaken, you CANNOT use Google Play Movies on a rooted phone.

wuuuuut really? Man I was thinking about buying one recently but since you said that forget it lol
I get the same error. However, casting to Chromecast on TV from the phone still works so it's not a huge deal. I've read that the error happens on non-rooted phones too, so hopefully Google and/or HTC will fix this.
I ended up calling Google support and they gave me a full refund on a TV series I had purchased. Apparently they are working on a fix for the app, but could not give me an estimated fix date.
It happened to me as well when I installed 1.2. I got an error upon setting the phone up that said I was missing Google Services. I restored stock and reflashed 1.2 and the issue didn't arise again.

Not true. Use play movies on Bonestock 1.2 all the time.

I've been getting error 31 with Google Play Movies since I rooted my HTC One as well. The first time it happened about 15 minutes into a rented movie. It won't play it or anything else since then. When it happened the first time, I was on the stock ROM. Now I'm on Ecliptic-One Inverted and it's still giving me the error. FWIW I contacted Google and they said the phone was not compatible. I'm not buying that because it worked before I rooted. I'm willing to try Bonestock if it works, but I don't see what the difference would be since they're both based off of the stock HTC Sense.

Are there any solutions for the problems the LGOG has with Play Music All Access?
As-is, songs stop playing about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through, with the error "Music temporarily unavailable. Couldn't play the stream you requested."
This happens regardless of network connection... It was fixed when I tried out CM10, but it had so many other stability problems that it wasn't worth keeping as a daily ROM.
Apparently a lot of LGOG users have this problem, should I just cancel and go with Spotify? I really like All Access, but if there's no solution for the errors I guess there's no option.
I really liked the service, but couldn't stand the errors anymore. I canceled and went with spotify.

The only solution I found was to flash an aosp or aokp rom. Everything else I tried and even stock based roms I errored out.
I was thinking about going back to spotify but I like Google music so much better.

Still broken
Got the new version (v5.2.1224L) this morning. At first I thought it might be working but after a couple of songs, it resumed this annoying behavior.
Can't download anything in Play Store. Ive gotten numerous errors. Some of the errors ive checked indicate a server being down. Anybody else try to download apps today?

My buddy with a note had the same error so it's not just us.
Just checked with a friend who has a Stock Galaxy S3 on Verizon and he is getting similar errors as well.
Same here in Nexus 4,
i think their server is down
Same here. I thought something was wrong on my end. Glad to see that's not the case.

Perhaps we will be seeing an update?
Nope, been downloading stuff all day no issues
My HTC One wasn't working until just a few minutes ago. However my nexus 10 worked the whole time...
Resetting caches and clearing data on various google apps didn't immediately fix it either. Although I suppose it did work 30 minutes after the resets...
It's back up for me now too. Since the Play Store was only down from about 2pm to 5pm Mountain Time, and this thread doesn't serve for much purpose ( abeit those who will search the forums tomorrow for any explanation for the errors being caused from earlier today), should I delete this forum after tomorrow night? I've scoured Twitter and Reddit and am surprised not a lot of people are talking about it. If it was Apple, it would be all over the news.

There was a droid-life story that there were app update and download issues.

I don't see why we would need this thread after the issue was resolved.
Ok so I'm using my free trial of play music all access and I love it but question, when I select to "Keep Music on Device" and it says it's downloading, does that mean I get to keep it permanently? Even after the trial is up?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
No. Only music you buy is kept. However, if you are a music addict like I am, the 9 bucks is worth it. If you don't renew your subscription, your music will disappear. If you start using all access again, your music will come back.

Is Google Music finally working properly on stock ROMs? I remember the app was plagued with the "Music Cannot Be Played" issue, no matter what sort of connection you had. I've switched over to CM 10.2 and it works flawlessly now, but just wondering if any of the updates Google's released has fixed the issue.

Worked well when I was on stock zvc and Optimus. On KitKat now and works well too.

I flashed back to zvc yesterday and so far I've had no streaming errors. Knock on wood.

I just flashed back to stock today, and I have noticed that Play Music is better, but I still have issues. It will let me play a few songs (I got through 5) and I get the Music Playback Error. When I try to resume, it gives me the error immediately, but if I rewind the song, it allows me to play a few more songs.
I am going to try and disable caching and see how that affects it.
All of my testing thus far has been on Wifi (20Mbps fiber connection), so it definitely is not an internet issue.
Yeah the errors started up again for me too, but much more infrequently. Still frequent enough to be a huge nuisance though

I have logged a case with Google Play Support. They had me go through clearing app data, etc. Of course, this didn't work, so they asked for a logcat. I sent them two logs showing multiple occurrences of the error.
So far, they have been very responsive. I sent the ticket in yesterday evening and got a response within 15 minutes. Hopefully, their engineering team can figure out what is going on from my logcats.

Something similar happened when I logged a complaint... 4 months ago. Not to be cynical, I just can't help it.
Hm yeah I think I'll stick with CM10.2, it's extremely stable at this point for me, zero issues, and Google Music works flawlessly.
I had this problem as well. Ended up switching to rhapsody until the issue is resolved,

I'm having a strange problem, and I'm really hoping someone might have an answer, because it's driving me crazy...
I'm not able to buy anything through the Play Store (including in-app purchases). Every time I try to it tells me "This payment method has been declined", regardless of what method I choose (Play Store credit, Google Wallet, Bill to carrier, and 4 valid cards I have saved). I can't even 'purchase' free items (ie. free music tracks).
I'm also having an issue with the Google Wallet app, in that I can't add funds. Every time I try, regardless of how I try to add them (tried 3 valid cards), it tells me I cannot send money with Google Wallet.
I'm running Echoe v6 (international ROM), and everything was working fine, until yesterday. I made a full backup in TWRP, flashed a couple other ROMs I wanted to try, and finally did a full wipe and restored the TWRP backup I had made. Ever since restoring I've been having these problems, though everything else is working exactly how it was prior to backing up/restoring.
I've tried clearing data/cache for both Play Store and Wallet, deleted and re-added my credit cards on a PC, and still nothing. If anyone has ANY ideas or suggestions, they would be GREATLY appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't think anything I did fixed it. I'm thinking it was some sort of issue with my account on Google's end, that ended up resolving itself.
I had spent hours messing with it, finally got so pissed off/frustrated that I turned the phone off, plugged it in, and did some work on my laptop. When I came back to the phone about 4 hours later, it was working again. During that time, I went to the Google Wallet site from my Palm and deleted a few old, unused cards from it, but I don't think that had anything to do with the problems I was having.
I wish I could offer you more help, but I can't. Good luck though!

I'm having this problem too, says my card is declined when trying to add money to my Google Wallet. Just called the bank, they don't have anything showing my card being rejected, so it looks like it may be a problem on Google's end
For some reason my YouTube stopped working after I think about 2 updates ago. When it first stopped working I wasn't worried and figured the next update would probably fix it, but that hasn't happened (I currently have v5.9.4.9). It starts but nothing loads it just continually shows the loading icon (I also tried searching thinking that may work and didn't). I tried clearing cache and data and force stop then re-opening but that did nothing also.
Any ideas?

@Paulx777 the current version of Youtube app is 5.9.0.13 - update it and see what happens.
Tbh the Youtube app has never been bug free on my tablet, at first it had exactly as you describe nothing would load - I did all sorts and finally figured out it was my wifi router being the problem so try a different wifi connection and see what happens.
Once that was fixed it would take ages to load and now it no longer updates my history. I just think this tablet and youtube aint the best of friends haha.
P.s. is 777 in your name refering to Boeing 777? Jus curious lol.
Sent from Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition via Tapatalk.
It's definitely something wrong with the YouTube update because I went in and clicked "Uninstall Updates" and whatever version it reverted back to worked perfectly. Plus, if you look at YouTube's Google Play ratings/reviews, a lot of people have been giving the update one star our dropping their rating from five stars to one for the same reasons...YouTube doesn't load, they get no picture and only hear sound, etc. And there's a bunch of complaints, they can't all be from Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition owners.
P.S. no, when I created the sn I put in Paul7 (I play baseball and 7 is my number) but it wasn't available, so this was what was available.
