yes i have nandroid backups on my laptop... i also have the kdz updater.. thing is i only get the LG logo or fastboot.
If you have custom recovery send rom.zip using adb.
Rom should be smaller for faster update.
Adb push rom.zip /sdcard/
And wait till finish.
Or goto download mode and use kdz updater and flash any 1gb or less kdz

Hi atifish. Initially, all i got was the LG logo, but i managed to get into download mode. I tried using the kdz update but i always got a phone not found error. I uninstalled-restarted-reinstalled the LG drivers on my windows 8 laptop but still got the same error. I checked Device Manager and i dont get any LG modem (so i cant disable). All i'd get is this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried a windows 7 laptop and was able to disable the LG modem, but the kdz update never finished flashing. I know to ignore the error messages but i had been more than an hour.
**** Just ow i noticed that this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624 indicates that i should select CS Emergency. However on another guide (the one i followed) it said to use Emergency. Was that the reason why i couldn't get a successful kdz update on Windows 7?
Now my LG only goes into Download mode and can't get anything else.
Please help! Im not familiar with the steps to do adb..
using windows 7 laptop with internet working
1: put phone in download mode
2: plug in the phone
3: windows should start installing drivers now, wait for it to finish
4: open kdz updater, put it in emergency/ cs_emergency (iv tested they all work just fine)
5: flash the kdz file which is 1GB or less
if phone boots good but still wipe anyway.
if phone doesn't boot, gets into boot loop, do a wipe using recovery (learn how get into recovery if you dont know, remember if stock recovery you will loose all your files).
NOTE:
if you are on custom recovery and want to retain files/pictures goto recovery first and format system partition and than do all the steps above, no need to wipe this time.
ofcourse you already formatted, this is for future reference, don't get confused.

How long does the flash process take? i not sure if im using the proper kdz updater... i have two versions, one with the LGP920.dll and the other with LGP880.dll... neither work for me. Process just stops during updating... and i wait 30-45 minutes.
and do i still use the windows enabler and disable the LG modem?
No dll required, what are you using?
I don't enable windows enabler on win7 but you can. No need to disable anything.
Usually takes 7 8 minutes before phone boots.

You have few options' but patience necessary,
Option 1
1 download cm10.1.3 for e975
2 download and install notepad++
3 open the rom zip file and double click updater script, it will prompt to open with dialog, choose notepad++ (i use winrar)
4 delete everything above the line that start with mount ....
5 closer winrar it will prompt to save press yes than again yes
6 send this file via adb and flash
Option 2
Get kdzupdater, install msxml.msi restart
Run kdz update as admin and flash e975 10d kdz
Or f180l kdz
http://main.develoid.com:82/lg/Optimus G/F180L10M_00.kdz

Dude !!!
Dont post this type of posts in this thread
others will think that you flashed the recovery and got bricked your phone
please edit the above thread and tell your actual problem like you flashed using kdz updater and the bricked.I have already PMed.
After clicking on the .bat file, it does put gscript app on my phone, but it can't find the script.sh file on the sd card (there's no gscript folder as well).
Should I try the installer again? Create the folder and copy the file?
Nevermind, it's working now. I just don't know how to keep going from there. How do I install a new ROM?
After I click on the script, it does blue screen and then reboots, but not into recovery mode it just starts up like normal.
Thanks .

I had this problem too (tho i flashed manually) but when i reflashed it worked fine.But before you try reflashing it try to boot the phone into recovery using ADB
Here is how:
Plug your phone in and enable debugging.
Then open ADB and type in su and hit enter after that type reboot recovery and again enter.If you flashed the recovery correctly your phone should boot into recovery. Hope that helps
Hello!
Your tutorial is quite good and very helpful.
Everything worked as you described.
But, after the blue screen, I had an issue: my phone stops at Fastboot mode. Then I get the message "udc_start()" and it stops there, nothing happens. It doesn't start android. Can you tell how to proceed from there?
Thank in advance!
Best,

If ripping out the battery didn't help then you need to flash the recovery via fastboot.Since your phone automatically boots into bootloader ( the udc_start () state) you need to download fastboot flasher ( you can find it via google or xda search) and flash recovery from there.Just make sure you are flashing the right recovery.And then from the recovery you can flash a custom rom.

You boot into recovery and navigate to backup (in order to make nandroid backup-you can skipp this step but you won't have a stock android backup in case you dont like the new rom or it doesn't work) than navigate to flash zip from sdcard(obviously you need the rom on the sdcard) and then select the rom and then confirm flash.After that you should see a yellow progress bar after the flash is complete you reboot your device.Oh and just in case you didn't know you navigate using up and down volume buttons you confirm with menu button and you cancel/go back with back button

I did it differently because there is no working link of the recovery.zip
after rooting the phone with gingerbreak, simply download ROM Manager from play store and flash recovery from there.
hi i need original rom 2.2.2 for my phone in zip form so i can put on my sd card and flash dose anybody have this and if so could they upload it for me thanks
Works nicely! However, I had to follow the following procedure:
- Disconnect the USB cable
- Start in fastboot mode
- Type the command in the PC (it should says something like "Waiting for device")
- Connect the USB cable
Without using this procedure, I would get stuck in "Waiting for device". Hope it helps someone.

If you can get in download mode, nothing is lost. You can still go back and restockify you LG Optimus G (stock rom ,locked bootloader ,no root).
Original Work by [email protected] I have only translated it to English
Tested and working on LG-E975
Some tips before you start
As you will see is a fairly simple procedure, but not without risk. Take a quick read the entire guide before you begin: it will help you understand how to move.
The most important thing is to keep calm, do not panic and do not crush random keys. If you do not understand a passage, reread it. If you have not figured it out yet, reread it AGAIN or ASK here for help. No one runs behind you, so do not do things in a hurry.
I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE.
Given that at end of the flash is recommended to do a hard reset, is a good idea to make a backup of all your personal data (photos, videos, etc etc), contacts , and if you want even applications.
DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP EFS PARTITION!
Prerequisites
1. Download the KDZ with this tool (credits [email protected]) https://mega.co.nz/#!wxoHSayQ!AsUn6wfsc0rts87HIlOSwBd9dilot2229useWzrsH_g
2. Download and install the LG USB drivers LG USB Drivers
3. Download this file. It's a compressed file that contains everything you need NEW KDZ Updater
4. Download and install LG Mobile Support Tool http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
Let's start
1. Extract the "Flashtool" folder on the desktop, or where you want. Open the folder "Flashtool" and install msmxl.msi (if not already installed).
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Turn off the phone and connect it to the PC with the USB cable while holding VOLUME- AND VOLUME +, until you see the download mode logo. The PC will install some drivers. There may be a kind of protection that prevents you enter this mode if there is too little current on the phone.
However, you must be able to get to the screen that's underneath.
4. Go back to Flashtool folder and run as administrator WindowsEnabler.exe. Go to the bar at the bottom right, and click once with the left mouse button over the icon of WindowsEnabler, so that appears the "On"message.
5. Now run as administrator UpTestEX.exe and do the following:
-Select the .KDZ file that you want to flash
-Set "3GQCT"
-Set PhoneMode "EMERGENCY"
Once done, click "Normal web upgrade test"
6. In the next window click "Upgrade Start"
7. Wait a few seconds an a new window will pop up.
- Click "Clear phone.."
- Select different country if you're not in Korea
- Select Language
- Click OK
After this the LG flashing tool should start analyzing your phone and flashing the .KDZ
Once done you can detatch the USB cable and see if the phone boots up. However it will probably bootloop. In this case follow the Hard Reset Procedure below.
Hard Reset Procedure
The phone has to be off. Hold Volume - AND Power , a message will show up confirming the factory reset. Press Power Button twice , than wait. It will auto reboot.
Thanks:
- [email protected] For the realization of the guide
- [email protected] For the big work regarding .KDZ files
- [email protected] Flashing 1 GB and greater .KDZ
Notes
- I have translated this guide because the one I found was little bit tricky unclear and didn't work for me, I hope I have done a good job. I'm anyway available to any modification. Just write below.
- Also I'm Italian so there may be some mistakes in the translation , report back i will correct them with pleasure.
Don't forget to report back if it worked!

Does this ring a bell to you?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
Another question, why place the kdz folder in C:/? I have used kdz updater more than 10 times,it's well placed in D:/Downloads/ folder.It's working everywhere,no need for a special path.
And you didn't mention the 1gb+ file error. kdz updater will not work with bigger files.
What's tricky in potatohead thread?
1.have proper drivers installed,this is universal law for ALL devices. no drivers,not working.
2.download correct kdz file for your phone.
3.download kdz updater
4.enter download mode
5.open kdz updater and choose the file,selecting the right settings.
6.start ,wait to finish and that's it.
If anyone understood something else,it's not the author's fault.
I did all that you point in your guide but during the process, the program went in Not Responding, and after 30s Windows said he closed the program , and now my phone is stuck in Download Mode... Please help me
What windows are you using, also, what machine(laptop/desktop)..
If you are using a desktop,make sure you are using a rear usb port,not front and not through a usb hub,not even an usb extension cable.
if you are using a laptop,be sure you are using usb 2.0,not 3.0.

Hi,
Interesting post, so this i to unbrick a phone and revert back to original state of the phone (out of the box).
Is this also a possible method to flash any firmware I want. Let me explain, I have my new OG from French Operator SFR with a custom ROM and want to install as a replacement the latest FRA or EUR stock firmware from LG. Can this method be executed safely, OR should I unlock my bootloader and go for a firmware flash through the CWM recovery way instead ?
Thanks for your tip.

So i decided to try to root my g pad. I tried to root throw windows but I kept getting errors so I ended up using towelroot which gave me root access.
Then I wanted to install TWRP but when I did it throw windows I got errors and I kept having the stock recovery. So I tried with an app from play store but then I just got stuck with secure boot error... Now I am back with stock which I got with the LGmobile support software.

Had the same question. Go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/help/current-installing-recovery-running-t2790834
@velein
I have exactly the same software specifications (V50020a) and Build-Number (KOT49I.V50020a) and this is what I did.
Tablet: Security- activate unknown sources, Developer options - USB-debugging enabled
Computer: download and install USB-drivers for LG G Pad 8.3 http://www.lg.com/de/service-mobil-telefon/lg-G-Pad-8.3
1. Root with Tovelroot V2 http://towelroot.com/
2. Install SuperSu v2.00 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
3. Start SuperSu and Update Binaries ( normal)
SuperSu says failed to update Binaries please reboot, rebooted
after reboot Supersu works fine.
4. Install SdFix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684188
should work without problem, if not you have a problem with root.
5. Install Flashify http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847
Backup kernel & recovery , just in case.
I did NOT use this to flash the new recovery, but later on to enter in the new recovery
6. Download the newest version of TWRP for v500 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499
Attention !!! you have to take the one where it says:" These builds are for the 4.4.2 bootloader"
download new version 2.7.1.0 !! 4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip !!
copy the recovery.zip to your tablet
7. Download the tool to flash recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267
look at step 3 , download: V50020_aboot_twrp_v2.zip, to your computer and unzip it.
8. Connect the tablet (MTP) to the computer and run file:runme.bat, ! on tablet you have to allow acess from the computer and SuperSu acess for adb !
when finished disconnect usb and let the tablet reboot
9. On the tablet start Flashify , in the menu press: reboot to recovery
10.Tablet starts to the TWRP-recovery. Now go to:install and flash the new version of twrp(2.7.1.0) that you have copied to the tablet.
reboot system.
this worked for me.
Edit: For all who have the new V50020d firmware
you have to modify the runme.bat file before you run it!
Have a look over here, post 72
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782422&page=8
change the V50020b to V50020d, dont forget to save the file.
Thanks guys. After hours og research and several tries I ended up using step 3 in i10terror's Korea thread. Worked without any problems. Thanks for the answers though.

4. Install SdFix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684188
should work without problem, if not you have a problem with root.
5. Install Flashify http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847
Backup kernel & recovery , just in case.
I did NOT use this to flash the new recovery, but later on to enter in the new recovery
6. Download the newest version of TWRP for v500 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499
Attention !!! you have to take the one where it says:" These builds are for the 4.4.2 bootloader"
download new version 2.7.1.0 !! 4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip !!
copy the recovery.zip to your tablet
7. Download the tool to flash recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267
look at step 3 , download: V50020_aboot_twrp_v2.zip

Hey Guys,
i've got a problem: i tried to flash twrp like it was said in the Korea Thread, but my G Pad won't start into recovery.
Not when i type "adb reboot recovery" in CMD nor when i try to get into twrp with flashify.
Any suggestions?
Which software specification do you have? If it is the V50020a than have a look at #3.
Do you have root access? Did you flash the right recovery file for your tablet?
Would be easier to help if you could provide us with some more detailed information.

Of course, sorry.
Android 4.4.2
Kernel 3.4.0
Build-Nr. KOT49I.V50020a
Root Accesss: Yes
I already did step #3 several times (from this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267)
After i did this and tried to reboot into recovery, it just rebooted normally and not into recovery.
It was the second time this happenend. After the first time i used the LG mobile tool and could reboot into stock recovery, then i tried again #3 from above and couldn't reboot into any recovery..
Ok, just to clarify. With. #3 I mean the third post in this thread.
Please try to install Sdfix so we can be absolutely sure that root is working. Have you installed the drivers from lg on your computer? Is usb- debugging enabled on the tablet?

Oops, sorry. It's early..
i also did your steps there, but they include the korean thread..
i did SDFix, it said and also says now:
"No Action Required, This device appears to already have write access to MicroSD Cards. No action has been taken....."
Yep and yep.
EDIT: Maybe it is important, if i try to reboot into recovery with flashify, in the top left corner is written:
Secure booting Error!
Cause: Device UnLock!, so Boot Success!!
Then it reboots into system.
On your computer you can see ADB Interface: Android Sooner ADB Interface in the device manager.
When connecting the tablet with usb you have set it to MTP or to charging only?

I set it to MTP.
I'm really desperate... i tried anything i found googling
can't install twrp or cwm recovery
I can't install even with this method, because my software specs are: android version - 4.4.2, kernel version - 3.4.0, compilation number - KOT49I.V50020a, software version - V50020a
Ops, didn't see your edit in post 10. The message is ok it is the same I have on my tablet before showing TWRP recovery.
Looks like you did everything OK but something messed up.
Did you get the tablet with this software version installed or did you get it per OTA.

I got it OTA, i once had twrp on it, but i tried to backup with LGs Tool and got stuck on bootloop and had to use LGs Mobile Tool.
Was the first of 2 times.
It's weird that i can't even boot into stock recovery, but in Flashify it says i got stock recovery installed...
Maybe the backup with the Lg tool wasn't a good idea.
When in Flashify you press Backup/Restore you can press the:!
In the small circle. It says that it reads the recovery from the latest cache file......so that maybe the reason why it shows you still the stock recovery.
I think the best would be to go back to stock with the Lg mobile support software and afterwards start again from the beginning like I posted in #3. Sorry
@Claudio Santos. Your tablet came with this software version or did you receive a OTA update?

I did go back to stock 2 times now and both times it did not work... used that method both times...
What else can I say, the discription in#3 is what worked for me on a new v50020a. Like you know it uses the method discribed in the Korea Thread, which worked for others also. The fact that you can see the message: Secure booting error......shows that the flashing tool worked ,but something went wrong at the end.
Maybe you should download it again ( just in case there was a problem with the download)and give it another try.
THANK YOU!

After trying 3 different complete HOW-TO ROOT and RECOVERY guides here on XDA and a few others on the internets, this gentleman finally helped me root and TWRPify my gpad. I was stuck on the last software struggling to find a way to root. I think all new GPad owners should start with these steps, as most guides, I feel like, are made for older software. Thank you Sir, you're a gentleman and a scholar!
I managed it!!!!!!!
I used the LG Mobile Tool and set the upgrade fail back (however it is called in english - sorry)
Then i did EXACTLY what you said in post #3
BUT! After you flashed the recovery for the first time you have to unplug your USB cable before rebooting and it will work!
Thanks guy, you're the best!
THIS IS FOR THE D802 ONLY
This is a solution to the LG Flash Tool GUI getting stuck at 2% and giving an error while trying to flash a .KDZ that IS COMPATIBLE with your phone.
I haven't found this solution anywhere on the forums so thought I would share it.
Basically it re-installs your mmcblk partitions.
NOTE: First off, it's worth checking your LG Flash Tool error log to make sure your error is the following
(C:\LGMobileUpgrade\log0.txt)
Code:
04:30:34 : ********* CDMA Model.dll input Parameter End*************
04:30:37 : wParam : 20, lParam = 540
04:30:37 : MODEL DLL Event : (20, 540)
04:30:38 : Model File Count = 540
04:30:38 : wParam : 100, lParam = 51
[B]04:30:38 : MODEL DLL Event : (100, 51)[/B]
[B]04:30:38 : Step : TYPE_WPARAM_UPGRADE_ERROR[/B]
04:30:38 : CleanModelDll() : Free Model.dll
04:30:38 : _DetachDLL Call
04:30:43 : _DetachDLL Call End
04:30:45 : Page_Error ºÎºÐÀÔ´Ï´Ù
04:30:45 : ¿©±â´Â Retry ºÎºÐÀÔ´Ï´Ù
The above BOLD text is the common error when the LG Flash Tool is getting stuck at 2%.
Once you've confirmed you are getting the same error AND you are indeed getting stuck at 2%, please continue.
1. Download FixedDownloadCMode_droidth.zip.
2. If you do not already have the ADB driver installed, download and install it.
3. Make sure you have a custom recovery installed. Recommended LATEST version of TWRP for the D802 from HERE.
4. Boot into Recovery
5. Plug LG-D802 into Computer and wait for ADB connectivity.
6. Extract FixedDownloadCMode_droidth.zip and run FixedDownloadCMode.bat.
7. Wait for batch process to finish (It will push all bin and img files, then dd all the files).
8. Boot into Download Mode and your .KDZ should flash without LG Flash Tool getting stuck at 2%.

By the way, I decided to use CloudyG2 rom instead of stock one due to latency during incoming calls.
I tried cloudystock but also it has same bug as it is based on stock.
I am really happy with CloudyG2; smooth, stable, bug free and amazing battery life. Almost 35 hrs with 4hrs screen time.
When I had that problem I just downloaded v10 tot files and flashed them it's much easier and it's works perfectly.Arfter flash flashed v20 via kdz and no stuck works like a charm maybe this info will help

Dont look at that error message simply press ok and w8 till ur phone boot up. U will have pure stock lg g2 with all drivers like when u buy phone.
The biggest problem of LG flash tool its detecting custom firmware like another FW and its disable download mode flash. Idk why. I try full wipe phone and its doesnt work, only flashinh stock over recovery.

You don't use adb to start the bat file, the bat file is run by double clicking on it with your cursor.
The bat file will take control of adb for you. Make sure your phone is connected via adb first (refer to the steps above).

Original Recovery does not let you use ADB and has little to no features.
Firstly, when plugging my 7t in to my windows 10 PC, I am asked to choose which mode to go in within usb preferences, as I did previously in order to achieve and ADB driver connection I chose file transfer.......
this didn't work for some reason, only when in MIDI did I get a confirmation with adb devices.....even though there is still no sign of adb interface in device manager.....
any ideas? I can get adb connection with MIDI but is this good enough to flash recoveries/boot images etc....?
I tried to flash twrp and I could successfully boot into twrp directly via fastboot but twrp couldn't seen any of my storage, despite having all security methods turned off...
all i want to do is gain root access but I am having no joy....
ever since android 10 rooting anything for me has been a pain in the ass......truly fed up....it shouldn't be this hard......
I also flashed a patched boot image in an attempt to gain root access but it all did was break my wifi........which i fixed by copying over the latest image and installing locally......
please HELP....
Everything about this issues is already said in this forum.

You will have to wipe the data and then twrp can access internal storage.
This is how I did (in my phone, which is not Oneplus, but the process remain same for all phones), boot to fastboot mode and type this:

https://twrp.me/site/update/2019/10/23/twrp-and-android-10.html
Actually there is a twrp compiled for this phone, but that doesn't work , you can see the messages in thread:

The steps I told, was for Android 9 and earlier devices, I assumed, this is an old device.
@mediaman123, So please wait, until twrp starts supporting the Android 10.
And for rooting, I am not sure, whether magisk supports this new phone or not.
Maybe @Lossyx can help you on that.

Seen this, however my device, the European version, is running on 10.0.6.....
The only boot images available with that post is the 10.0.3...
wouldn't feel comfortable using them.....
I would like to know how to extract the stock boot image from either the firmware file or the phone itself...

You can go ahead and just fastboot boot them. If it works then just proceed, if it doesn't, just hold volume up+down and power button. (To boot into fastboot or restart phone)
Nothing will change in the system because it only boots a temporary image.
If your want to extract your own boot image you can use this tool.

So if it boots an older image successfully I can move it over to the phone to patch to then flash it or use the already patched one and flash that...?..
