Just an observation/question.
When I go back to stock or stock type ROMS, my serial number is R21C63K****
When I go to CM9 or CM10 my serial number is 7f1f****
Used '*' for paranoia purposes. lol
For reasons of my own (I promise it won't screw the general public over...) I want to change the serial number. Any way of doing this?
I just loaded a custom ROM on the nexus 7 2013. In the fast boot screen there is information pertaining to the device such as
product name, Variant, Bootloader Ver, etc. There is a serial number also listed. The device is wifi only. I am curious if the serial number would have any merit in locating the device in the event it were lost or stolen and someone were to log into their Google account, create a new Google account, and access the internet. Would there be a way or a service that could find out the ip of the people who stole/found this device via the serial number? Or what is a recommended way of protecting the device and relocating it?

Hi. I tried to change my IMEI number using the Chamelephon app. It did work, but it didn't turn out great. Network functions are okay, but it needs constant network operator scan as soon as I turn on airplane mode or restart my phone. The IMEI number became random numbers and symbols.
IMEI 1: >8<4=<:7?7<6?:2
IMEI 2: 9><398?64><6086
EFS is fine. Only IMEI has a defect.
I realized that Chamelephon should only be used on MTK (chinese or cloned) devices. Now I can't seem to find a way to get it back. Can someone teach me how, and do I need to get any Samsung Tool Pro type of things? If yes, how do I get started? (btw I want to do this for free)
I bought a new mi 10T 8/128 apollo device. Device bootloader lock is open and its IMEI repaired. Now the google play says my device is uncertified. When i checked the SecureNet status it says:
CTS profile: fail
evalType: hardware
Device has not have root and i dont want it. I think the guy who sell this phone to me uninstall the magisk after the IMEI repair. So how can i fix this?
What would be happen if i run fastboot oem lock command for this device?
Is fastboot oem lock can a solition for this?
After the lock what happens to my IMEI?
