I have the 4.2.2. But thats the android version. I think this is nothing to do with it. We have to look for htc software. I tought htc has give a little update for the accesoires like the mini+ and the fetch a little while ago. But this is doesnt work.

Only android 4.3 will work because that's the only version that have the bluetooth 4.0 LE
why does htc bring the fetch out before android 4.3. it doesnt make sense.

Guys I've seen HTC fetch, and in HTC website only says:
Compability: HTC One mini, HTC Butterfly s, HTC One max
http://www.htc.com/www/accessories/htc-fetch/
has anyone tested it with 4.3 sense 5.5?
This requires the new version on bluetooth in 4.3. Since not all HTC Ones have 4.3 yet, my guess is they can't advertise the compatibility

Found here
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=252282
Compatibility:
HTC One max, One, One mini, HTC Butterfly s, Desire 601
This seems much better, but no android support:
http://www.thetileapp.com/#faq
It works with the HTC One (installed CustomROM with Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5) without any problems:
Here's a little instagram video:
http://instagram.com/p/gGdOLOyhYv/
My little review of it (german):
http://www.mobiflip.de/htc-fetch-test/
Today was the official update to 4.3 and sense 5.5 from Htc and the fetch works now fine finally.

Its a very cool product....Is it available on Amazon...??
I had been watching it on Amazon for a while. Ridiculously high price. Best Buy recently started carrying them for a much better price. Had to order on line and have it shipped, but I think shipping was free at the time and it arrived sooner than anticipated. Pretty fun device, but driving people in my office crazy when I leave my phone on my desk to go to the restroom and the Fetch is in my pocket.
Now we just need to get some devs interested in some tweaks and tricks using HTC's published SDK.

it has been out for a loooong time, there is another device similar to the Beam was on July, the other one was on March
both are for Europe market
they don't seem to be very popular
they are from the 8000 family, although the spec are very close to the Galaxy S 9000 family

Few weeks back I came across a review of this phone on youtube. Even though it was announced early this year (and GSM arena says its already available), I didn't find any information indicating that this phone is actually available on the market. I was looking for it's price.

good idea
Just bought mine a week ago from StarHub (the official retailer for galaxy beam).
I second the subforum idea. How about starting a google group as well since the community is so small.
For those who wish to purchase the phone:
You need to place a reservation at StarHub Center before making the purchase. It takes about a week before your phone is ready for collection.
I was lucky enough to get it immediately because someone cancelled his reservation.
waiting for mine, deseperatly ....
i'll check with Admins and Sr Mods to see if they want to create a new forum for it
That's great! Thanks man.
nocomp: you may try bugging their hq at cuppage road. They might just have an extra handset lying around like mine. Haha
i ve bought it from a local shop in singapore, they were agree to send it to me to france.
still waiting for the delivery...... the singapore post tracking service, isn t much alive since 2 days......
i guess that ll be a change from my nexus, what i am pissed of, is that you can t use an app that use camera and projector in the same time
it seems that what has to be done, (part of find a way to upgrade it to froyo):
get gps working when projector is on
get projector working when camera is on
can you tell me if the galaxy beam has also the tv out like galaxy s?
best regards
herve
I have some bad news for you. Samsung has officially stopped software support for that device last month and said there's no plans for official froyo for it as there's just not enough beams out there to warrent the support as it was only sold in Singapore and very small numbers. They now have all development on tablet and galaxy s models. Google for more info. I read that last month someplace

bad news, impossible to install an application from android market :'(
never happend before with the nexus, i get the message "unable to download" either i am in wifi or 3g
any idea why?

Hmm never had a problem with market. Have you tried replacing the stock market app with a generic one from ipmart? Perhaps it's locked down to Singapore or something.
Topic moved to General until and if a new proper forum comes into place for this device.
hi,
well i ve took sim card off n sdcard off, and then it was working over wifi.
put the simcard back again and market was working.
no idea wtf happend.
hi,
how can i know what software update is current?
my version is 2.1 update 1

can t find in the setting menu the update section
thx for your help
btw i ve found this, anybody tried it?
http://shomblingteam.blogspot.com/2010/08/samsung-i8520-galaxy-beam.html
My phone is running the same firmware version as yours. It's released on 1 Sept which is more recent than the July version on that blog.
hi,
thx for the news, so if there is an update it ll appear in the "about" section right?
do you know any trick/tweak for allow to run gps when using projector?
herve
Probably, but I doubt there will be any more updates since the beam is not getting froyo. Hopefully I'm wrong...
I'm not aware of any tricks but if you have the time and expertise try editing the source code? Haha I'm no expert either.
Does anybody know if this will be available for the desire, on htc website seems is only for the new Desire HD and Desire Z.

I actually found on another forum that it will be available via an update. This forum is in spanish and I do not know if I am able or not to link it, if I am and you want let me know and will send you the link, then you can translate it.
EDIT
Here is the translation:
Like a mystery novel we are slowly solving mysteries concerning the updating of the new version the HtcSense that come with the terminals announced days ago, HD and Desire Desire Z.
If we saw a few hours ago and from HTC Italy said that not all terminals of the brand would receive the upgrade to the new version of the HTC interface but without specifying which itself would get and what not, now we know thanks to Twitter channel Htc Spain that the terminals will not get this improvement are those who do not officially updated Android 2.2.
Hi all,
the 2.3 gingerbread update is rolling out now! with sense 2.1!
NOTE: 2.3 IS ROLLING OUT VIA IMEI, SO IF YOU HAVE A BRANDED PHONE, BUT YOU UNBRANDED IT, YOU WONT GET THE UPDATE!!
confirmation:
Nick : Good afternoon
Dries: Hi Nick, thank you for contacting customer support from HTC. Currently I am just to read your question.
Dries: It has recently begun rolling out but that happens, however, using the IMEI number. It is not known exactly when your device's turn but when it does, you will automatically offer the update OTA.
Nick : Okay! that's good news, but on the Facebook page of HTC is that he has not yet rolled out?
Dries: The Facebook page has yet to be updated.
Nick : Ah okay, but I'm talking about the old desire, not the desire Z
Dries: Yes, Desire of the wounded.
Dries: I apologize, I meant regular
Nick : Haha okay, and do you know which version of Sense's on?
Dries: This is version 2.1

Purchased a HTC DGH 100(good old media link) last week off ebay after checking if its compatible with HTC one X and was under the impression that it is compatible but plays media in a lower resolution.
Received it today and tried pairing it with my Htc one X (i was so excited that I literally wanted to jump) and after trying for nearly an hour, I gave up and called up HTC customer service.
Spoke to a nice lady(sarcasm) over the phone who initially said to me "We are sorry sir, but we do not provide troubleshooting support for HTC Media Link". After a few mins of a heated argument regarding how crappy their customer service is, I finally got to speak to speak to her manager who was very nice(sarcasm again) and told me that htc media link is not compatible with htc one x and after showing them this link
http://www.htcaccessories.com.au/DG_H100.aspx
where "under category and cables" it mentioned htc one x, they agreed that there was a mistake on their website. I have been advised by HTC that they will try getting back to me with a resolution and advised me "we are not promising you anything" like they are warning me.
Will update the post soon with their resolution or any updates on this but just wanted to tell every one pathetic the HTC customer service is.
Crap, and they still havn't fixed the site
their customer service is really bad
i wudnt be surprised if they dont get back to me or fix up their website given how bad they were on the phone.
That's is terrible, HTC should really pull thier fingers out of their backsides and get the accessory released, I've had the dock, media link on order from amazon for 6 weeks now and they have failed to supply them.

I have contacted the seller but can't blame him as he asked me to check with HTC regarding the compatibility before I buy it. I asked if HTC could do anything to fix it or replace it with media link hd, but they said that they won't and after threatening them about taking this on fb,Twitter etc.. they said they will look into it. Your not the first and won't be the last, I'm also thinking of changing, unless htc get s-off and actually release updates to the UK I'm out probo for good. So near yet so far.... The older medialink should be compatible end of there is no excuse for it to be incompatible with future models. Because of this thread I think I will be cancelling my media link as it won't be compatible with future models.

HTC calls me and tells me that media link is compatible and when I ask them to help me fix it, they give up and request for more time to come up with a resolution.
On a sidenote, they are yet to fix up their mistake on the website and worse, they have added a few more phones to the list(like sensation, explorer etc) that I think may not be compatible.
Good going HTC(pun intended)!

Update 15 may 2012
Got a call back again and was asked to update the firmware which I did already. I was then asked to give out the imei of my handset to which I denied and then I was told to provide them with the software/firmware version of one x. After telling them that I have one device with 1.29 and the other with 1.26, they came up with a crappy excuse that it only works with 1.28!!!I then told them that it was ridiculous and they had no idea as to what they were talking and were coming up with crappy excuses. They then advised me that they can only help if I gave them the imei number and when I requested them to put that line in writing and email me so that I could use it for legal purposes I was advised that they will call me tomorrow to help me fix the problem.
Luckily Australian laws are consumer friendly and if not resolved in a few days, I am knocking the doors of the consumer affairs.

Getting HTC One X working with Media Link
If you upgrade the firmware on the Media Link, this should work.
Steps:
1. Download the HTC Media Link ROM Update for HTC Desire HD (1.11.0.0)
(You have to search for this, as I don't have the right to post links in the forums yet)
2. Hold the power button on the Media Link and then plug it into your PC using the included USB cable. After 2-3 seconds, it should start flashing orange and green.
3. Open the Media Link ROM Update executable file.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen until the Media Link has been updated to ROM version 1.11.0.0
5. Plug in Media Link to TV and use as normal.
no promised updates, no good custom Roms, no one wants to port lineage os for us, and the list goes on and on.
if by March still no update by HTC, I'll be giving up on HTC products and venture into OnePlus. so sad to see HTC gone to ****. /rant
Totally agree with you.
Let's talk about the alternatives / improvements.
5 inch display, dual sim, microUSB expansion and stereo sound are my "must have".

I myself prefer a minimum screen of 5.5 the bigger the better but definitely not beyond 6 or maybe 6.2(I'm gonna wait for s8 xl to come out to see if 6 is my max or 6.2) dual SIM is not a must for me but it's nice to have i guess. expansion is a must i think for external backup and such. our HTC one stereo speakers are just soo soo good though I'm gonna miss it for sure. AMOLED is a must for my next phone it's just so beautiful! ofcourse the camera has to be superior too.
at the moment i really am considering OnePlus due to its versatility and support and since I'm not from the US so pixel is out for me. to be honest, I'm gonna wait for note 8 and Nokia flagship to come out before i make my final decision. I grew up with Nokia if the flagship turns out to be superior I maybe going with Nokia i think.
If you are considering the Galaxy S8 or S8+ but miss the stereo speakers of many HTC phones dont forget the S8 and S8+ are remoured to also have stereo speakers, top and bottom. Though not at front ofcourse.
But guess we'll have to wait and see for sure.
On the topic of the E9+ and software updates I have recently emailed HTC support India side and they actually got back to me.
They did say the E9+ is only upgradeable to Marshmallow meaning it wont get Nougat.
But they didnt actually say it will be getting Marshmallow, only that its only upgradeable to Marshmallow.
I messaged them back asking if it will still defo be getting Marshmallow though. Still waiting for reply.
But it did sound like it will be getting it,but they cannot give me a timeframe as to when though.

out of curiosity, are you on stock e9+ or you have custom rom installed? if custom what room did you use? I'm from Malaysia and the only rom that works for me is E9pw_Android5.0_Sense70_E1.zip which I got from this site and it works just ok but not that great imo https://www.google.com.sg/amp/s/boycracked.com/2016/02/05/official-stock-rom-firmwareruu-htc-one-e9-plus-a55ml-e9pw/amp/

It's always the same with HTC, we should learn that at the end, is a ****ty company.

There is a very simple method to avoid phones like this with no support. Before purchase look into specs and search for "CPU" row. You see anything with "Mediatek" in the name you immediately forget about purchasing this phone. Works everytime.
