help note 2 root problem - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys i tried to root mt gt n7100 with odin using cf root but after odin passed my phone and it booted and it was stuck on GT-n7100 page and it was flashing and screen was jumping so i took out the battery and restored my phone using bianaries code so i want to root my phone again but i'm afraid the same might happen please help me!!!!!

Try to flash cf auto root again or flash stock firmware. You should out of bootloop.
But problem continue after that and If you are able to open recovery, then wipe data and cache from there and reboot.

Note 2 stuck on bootscreen - Need help please :(

Hello,
I have a very strange problem with my Note 2.... Yesterday i checked mails on my Note 2 when it suddenly shut down and rebooted.
First i didnt think it was a big issue but when it was on login screen where i have to enter my PIN i just touched the screen and it shut down again. Same thing happened again after that. Now it doesnt even boot up anymore... It just stays on Samsung bootscreen all the time. I can get into Download mode but not into recovery for some reason. I had no custom rom or anything else installed on my device. It was completely Stock.
I already tried flashing the firmware again via Odin but without any success....
Now i don't know what to do anymore and hope one of you guys can help me get back into my phone as i don't want to lose the data on it
Thank you in advance
Best regards

Try doing a data/factory reset and wipe cache in recovery, you`ll loose the data though. But it is the only way imo.

Then you have to take it to a samsung service center or the store for repair mate.
Anyone else with an Idea? What i also think is strange is that it says in Download mode that i downloaded 5 Custom Roms and my Current Binary and System Status are Custom???? I just installed the official firmware from SamMobile again -.-
Noone able to help me? I'm going insane at the moment cause nothing works.... Even when i plug in the usb cable the phone boots to the Galaxy Note 2 screen and nothing else happens.... In download modus it says i'm on a custom rom what i never installed to begin with....i only installed Stock Rom.... Please help what should i do T_T
So now i flashed the Rescue Rom but it did not change anything. Odin completed the flashing without errors though nothing changed. Also tried flashing Stock Firmware again but the status in download mode still shows custom system and binary.... Could it be that Odin is not flashing correctly though it is not giving me any errors?
I'm really desperate at the moment -.-
My galaxy s1 was bricked at one stage. I took the battery out and left it for am hour then I got it to boot into download mode. Are you putting the right rom on it? Like a whole factory rom?

Yes already tried Stock Rom and also the rescue rom.... nothing changed
Can you flash CWM onto it? Then turn it off., hold down volume up, home and then power Tool you see Samsung logo?

Already tried root with CWM but it won't go into recovery either. I also tried flashing the rescue rom with Pit-File but it does not go further than bootscreen. At the moment i really don't know whats wrong with the phone and i'm a bit desperate right now....
Isn't there anybody who's able to help me with this, please?
regards limital
Try to closely read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923956.
Then try to use Note 2 Toolkit.
Does it work?
Among other features, this one (as stated on their thread):
Flash Stock Boot Image back to your phone

Boot screen stuck
Hi TS,
U need to first let us know which variant of the note 2 u are using.
is u want to solve the bootloop issue,u need to follow these step as posted by someone here:
1. flash CWM using odin, then boot into CWM(power+vol up+that centre button) then wipe dalvik> cache partition > then data reset
2.DL sammy's official firmware for your note variant (7105 or 7100 or whatever)
3.flash sammy's firmware thru odin
4.let phone boot into android
then do whatever you need to do.
I had the same prob at you did, followed that guy's advice and not everything is back to factory and i can send it in for warranty.

[Q] Did I brick my SGH T889?

I am flashing this for my cousin. She woke me up out my sleep because she wanted her phone upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3 or kitkat. I downloaded a 4.3 ROM and didnt flash it correctly because Wifi nor data was working. It could be because I didnt flash the OTA first and/or didnt install the devil kernel.
Anyways I was walking her through how to restore the backup I made but she went into Download mode and here is when the problems started. i told her to battery pull and to go into recovery. There was already a backup ROM on her SD card, she flashed and it failed. Had her wipe twice and it failed again. Had her wipe again and restore and it failed. After 10 minutes of it failing I had her send me the phone.
I was unable to flash any ROM so i factory reset through recovery and still nothing. I then started flashing through ODIN the latest stock, deoxed stock, the MD4, I even flashed LJ1. Some of the ROMs will fail to flash and if a ROM does flash successfully I get no further than the Galaxy Note 2 screen.
So is this an indication that the phone is bricked or am I missing a step or two to finally get this phone to finally boot all the way up?
Bump

Most likely the phone is on 4.3 bootloader which is why flashing 4.1.2 ROM via pc odin does not work.
You can either flash 4.1.x stock ROM via mobile odin pro or flash 4.3 stock ROM via pc odin.

Unable to flash stock ROM via PC odin
Hello
I am in almost the same situation as mo2002. I had original ROM that came with my note2 running android 4.3 then decided to try jedi master x2 also 4.3. After trying it out for a while I noticed poor battery performance and when phone was locked I had to press the menu button several times to see the screen. That was getting on my nerves. Yesterday my phone was booting up by itself. It did a couple times then got stuck with the samsung logo. Reboot again and again and the same stuff happened that's when I decided to flash stock rom from samsung.updates/device site using odin3 v3.09 however, I have not been successful. After it checks the md5 OK, it fails on the NAND write. Is it the case that the NAND memory is not unlocked? I am still able to boot into recovery though.
Thanks

Mines corrected itself so I can't give the exact instructions but I just kept flashing stock ROMS via odin but I used 3.07 I believe. Idk if that makes a difference but after X amount of attempts I power cycled (after it being stuck at the same galaxy note 3 screen) it booted successfully

[Q] A Little Help Here PLZ !!!

HI guys and thanks in advance for your help and insight. I'm having problems upgrading to 4.4 Kit-Kat. I'm currently rooted and flashed running Darthstalker Rom Version 6. After putting my phone in download mode and opening Odin running CF Auto Root for the SM-900T which went semi fine I think. When flashing CF Auto Root the first box in Odin never said Pass it got stuck in Reset which is a little weird to me that's never happened before but I restarted the phone back in download mode and let the phone continue to reboot normally then the Reset in Odin changed to Pass.. I know Weird. So then I said ok Let me Flash the Latest TWRP. Hurray!!! worked like a charm the phone reboot and everything I thought I was home free but not so fast....lol Once I powered the phone back down and put it in Recovery Mode..... I get this message in the top left
Recovery Booting.....(Blue)
Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing (Red)
Set Warrenty Bit (Yellow)
It gets stuck there along with the Samsung Galaxy note 3 logo but nothing else....
Can anybody please help me please....Thanks a bunch. If you guys in the Houston area and you help me get this mystery solved the 6 pack of your choice is on me. Ill personally bring it too you..Thanks

To upgrade to KitKat you have to flash via Odin the stock KitKat firmware first, then you can root your phone, then flash the recovery you want. After that you can flash any custom rom that is KitKat based, be sure that the rom you are flashing got the kernel included, one time my phone got stuck on reboot, and was because the rom didn't included the kernel. Hope this can help you.

I started messing with this apps 2 sd stuff. And I made some partition on my sd card idk. But my phone started acting up really bad and slow. So I took the sd card out and it was fine. But when I went to reset my phone It bootloops. I now have no idea what to do with out being able to get to recovery. I'm reasick d this is the last thing that needed to happen
All I can do is go is go to download mode.. But I have no idea what to do there. Just say downloading it I Remember using it to root.
I'm now phoneless... great..... never do a factory reset through cm12.1
Odin your custom recovery and see if you can fix it there.
If still not working, you may have to factory reset and restore a backup or start over with Odin.

I cant get I recovery. WHat does odin mean? I have no idea what I'm doing..
Okay so I understand what odin is now. I was reading on how to recover from odin.. But I ccant find the stock file. But if I don't need to do all this . What does doin my custom recovery mean and how do I do that?
KIES might work to restore it but here's the stock tar
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62230599&postcount=1
I suspect you should Odin TWRP first and factory reset because the stock tar flash alone may not fix the boot issue.
Steps 2 through 6 of this guide will get TWRP back on the phone to factory reset but don't try to boot unless you root again. Going back to stock, you just power down and then boot in download mode to Odin the stock tar.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62241991&postcount=56
Use Odin defaults (auto reboot mode enabled) for stock tar in Odin.

Note 2 (N7100) won't root after flashing back to stock rom (HELP please)

Hi guys,
I have an international Note 2 (N7100) and I rooted it months ago and had different Android versions without trouble. Recently, I decided to download the stock rom and flash it with Odin to unroot it. It worked (I had to wipe cache and factory reset from recovery) after flashing back to stock rom.
But now I wanna root it again and I've tried to install many recoveries using Odin but after I click 'start' odin 'resets' and reboots the phone and it boots back to the custom rom without rooting although it shows 'Pass'.
WIth the CF recovery file, after Odin restarted the phone, a screen came up with a red Android robot and the screen had writing like 'mount cache' etc and 'restoring stock rom' towards the end.
P.s. In some instances, Odin managed to root the device (I think) but whenever I tried to get into recovery, the starting screen kept flickering weirdly and the phone just turned off. When I turned it on, it just turned on normally without going into recovery. So when it's on stock rom, the recovery works but whenever I try to root it with Odin, it either doesn't root at all or the screen does weird flickering when trying to go to recovery.
I don't know what to do so please help me. All I want to do is just root it and install a custom rom. Thanks.

Root with cf auto root, after rooting let it reboot ,after that update the binaries from super user app. Update super user , make sure the knox is disabled by super user when asked knox will interfere for recovery installation .if u want too reboot the device than install the recovery thru odin. Root can also be achieved by flashing twrp and then flashing supersu from twrp.
