But when I went to reset my phone It bootloops. I now have no idea what to do with out being able to get to recovery. I'm reasick d this is the last thing that needed to happen
All I can do is go is go to download mode.. But I have no idea what to do there. Just say downloading it I Remember using it to root.
I'm now phoneless... great..... never do a factory reset through cm12.1
Odin your custom recovery and see if you can fix it there.
If still not working, you may have to factory reset and restore a backup or start over with Odin.

I cant get I recovery. WHat does odin mean? I have no idea what I'm doing..
Okay so I understand what odin is now. I was reading on how to recover from odin.. But I ccant find the stock file. But if I don't need to do all this . What does doin my custom recovery mean and how do I do that?
KIES might work to restore it but here's the stock tar
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62230599&postcount=1
I suspect you should Odin TWRP first and factory reset because the stock tar flash alone may not fix the boot issue.
Steps 2 through 6 of this guide will get TWRP back on the phone to factory reset but don't try to boot unless you root again. Going back to stock, you just power down and then boot in download mode to Odin the stock tar.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62241991&postcount=56
Use Odin defaults (auto reboot mode enabled) for stock tar in Odin.

Hi guys i had the Note 5120 running 4.1.2 and all the while rooted with Framaroot 1.60 and had install multi window manager. I did not install custom recovery so i did not have any backups made as im just a simple user and will make use of the root for some enhancements. Today i installed font installer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer. After i chose my desire font, it request for a reboot and i did.
That is where the problem arised. My device is now stuck at the welcome screen with the word Samsung glowing and thats about it. I had done a hard reset but still the same. And i didnt manage to get any further info of my built and anything else *sigh*.
Anyone here be able to help me on this as that is all the rooting i have done on this phone. Never tried Odin or anything else. Hopefully some can help revive my 8 days old Note

Just as i found out about it. I am currently downloading the stock rom from sammobile. Just to be sure that i can place the stock rom in my ext sd card and use stock recovery to flash it after i rename it as update.zip?
you can just do a factory reset in stock recovery and your tablet will go back to factory fresh status..dont bother downloading or flashing anything, just factory reset and you are back to square one
In most cases, you need to extract the tar.md5 file from zip and flash using odin.

So i need to use odin to flash the stock rom that i have located for my device. Flashing from stock recovery wont work yah.
Edited: My device is now up and running. Flashed the right firmware via Odin. Thanks to you guys!
Hey guys I was recently trying to flash back to stock so that i could carrier unlock my device, but when I was trying to flash using cwm, I kept getting status 7 error, so I read up on that and learned that cwm doesn't like certain roms.
After reading that, I used twrp, which allowed the rom to flash.
Now's where it gets bad..
the rom was booting fine, until i realized it was stuck at the boot animation for about 10 minutes.
I went back to the thread and asked how long it should take on first boot, they said 4 mintues...
I can't get back into recovery mode.. (actually i could never get into recovery mode using hardware bottons, i had to use apps such as ROM Manager)
I'm trying to use odin to flash recovery img, but no dice..
Can someone please tell me what I should do?
You can't go back to stock through recovery. You have to flash the stock image through Odin.

It was a custom touchwiz rom. I thought that was possible.
Could I flash stock through odin in my current situation?
Fash the latest frimware using Odin
Can you get your phone into Download mode? Power whitle holding volume down, if you can then flash CWMR using odin
Download CWMR touch or non touch from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405433
Doing this help me skip some odin errors from previous failed attempts to flash stock frimwares (I don't know if you're having the same problem)
If you successfully flash CWMrecovery, you should be able to flash official 4.3 firmware(T-Mobile) and put your phone back to stock.

If you can get your phone back to stock this is my advice to you: root your phone right-away so you can reset your flash counter using triangle away.
I suggest the following rooting method is safe, it worked for me and did not affect my flash counter
Safe root --> http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2013/12/Safe-Root-Android-4.3-Galaxy-S3-S4-Note-No-Warranty-Void.html
use triangle away to reset your flash counter to Zero

Thank you for your information, I've solved my problem by getting back into twrp! thanks! hopefully this thread will help someone out in the future
Hey Guys!
I'm having a major problem... so my Sprint Note 4 is stuck in a boot loop. For the life of me I can't figure out how to fix it.
What I had done is just root the device, using CF-Auto-Root method in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428
Second, I had just installed "Amplify Battery Extender -Root" from the PlayStore. After getting root.
Third, it required me to install Xposed, after I installed the framework and hit [Install/Update] it seemed to work but after it rebooted, now it's stuck in a bootloop.
Please help team, I'm really lost on this one! :crying:

Sounds like you are on the OE1 update. If so go to Development section and download Noterized rom to your SD card and flash with TWRP.
guys just got my note 4 for sprint and flashed twrp recovery. removed superuser and wanted to reflash, cause apps were forclosing. now im stuck in a bootloop can you help with and cannot get out of it.
Hi,
All was good in the SM-T705 world rocking 5.0.2 Rooted Stock.
But one day, decided to take the plonge and update to the 5.1.1 Unnoficial CM12.1 to try things out.
Well, all was good, but kinda lost the 4G connectivity (even after flashing the radio file provided on the thread)
So i decided to try again something, and start from Stock again.
Got myself the latest 5.0.2 image from kies and "odin it away".
Everything ok with the flash, but the device remains on the boot screen ....meaning bootloop.
Never seen a bootloop on a stock flash.
When bootlooping, i can only access download mode/recovery. Nothing else works.
Any hints?
Thanks guys.
Bootloader maybe?

Idk ask a prof
Maybe flash the whole frimware via odin again
I advice you to download a stock firmware (or at least a TW based one) from here in the forum, instead of Kies.
You can try also first with a manual EXT4 reformat of System, Data and Cache though Recovery. Do NOT touch other partitions.
Then reinstall with Odin, NO tick on repartition.
It must work
Thank you guys for all your replies.
Thing is, i cant seem to be able to flash twrp. I do it through Odin and goea fine, but when it reboots it is overriding to the stock recovery again (since it can't complete the stock flash boot process)
That would be the desired scenario, since I even have a twrp backup that I'm wishing to restore.
Any other ideas?
You need to boot to twrp immediately after flashing or recovery will be overwritten with stock.
Second, once in recovery wipe data and you should be good to go.

why not just flash the rom in twrp?
not sure how to do that, i have always used odin. Cant use twrp on my phone because i am not rooted
Any directions doing it your way? Thanks
II was rooted then put this rom on and now i am not rooted. sucks
and i cant get tar files to work in Odin, just md5
mostly just want my hotspot back
You rooted before, shouldn't be that hard to do it right again: Odin TWRP and flash a stock OJ6 ROM with the mod you seek, following the OP did instructions. Done and done. You may find what you're looking for in post 3 of @tx_dbs_tx OJ6 stock thread.
Odin won't work because you can just convert Recovery flash zip to tar that Odin could use. As you suspect, you'd need a tar.md5 but 7-zip doesn't convert Recovery ROM zip to tar ball. They're completely different; tar.md5 AKA tar ball is more of a partition overwrite partition by order flash, whereas ROM zip has explicit instructions in the updater-script that Odin wouldn't follow. They have their purposes: typically, Odin would be a tool to update to current update and install custom recovery; recovery could be used to flash a ROM or mod compatible with installed update version.
I suspect Odin has done no harm if it's a recent one. It's just refusing to brick your phone.

Does your phone boot to recovery or system? You may need to start over with full OJ6 tar. Find it in general forum and follow the OP instructions.
I'd recommend factory reset as well.

Yes, i can get into that. My phone is working on the rom i posted. I just want to put another rooted rom on. Will putting that oj6 on let me do that? Will odin put that tar on my phone unlike the other tar files? Thanks
should i put the baseband oj6 on?
I finally got twrp on but when i reboot system from twrp i am just bootlooping. Any ideas what to do now?

System was booting but you couldn't install TWRP. Now you have TWRP but system doesn't boot.
I suggested you start over with stock OJ6 tar. Did you do that? Sorry, I'm not following what you actually did. I'd say factory reset and flash the stock OJ6 ROM but it sounds like your partitions are messed up. If you agree, do the following:
1)Wipe everything but extSdCard in TWRP.
2)Power down, pull battery minimum 30 seconds.
3)Boot into download mode, using Odin 3.10.7, uncheck the default options, check AP box, click AP tab and select the OJ6 tar.md5 Start only when you have com:xx detected your phone (present).
4)Upon success, close Odin, pull USB and battery, boot intro stock recovery and factory reset.
5)Redo steps 2 and 3 but this time use both the Odin defaults to allow the auto reboot. Close Odin after success.
6)Go through setup wizard and make sure stock is fully functional.
7)Once verified, Odin TWRP with auto reboot unchecked, upon success, pull USB and battery for at least 30 seconds.
8)Boot into recovery and follow OP install instructions to flash custom ROM.
Edit: ROM zip should be on ext sdcard. You may be able to move some files from sdcard to extSdCard with TWRP file manager in advanced tab.

I finally got twrp to flash on my phone, so now i am in twrp on my phone. Just not sure what to do know. I just hit reboot system in twrp and it wont get passed where it says android note 4. If i cant do anything from here i will re download the oj6 and do what you said.
I am doing what you had said but it takes me to twrp when i go to factory reset. So i did it through twrp and then flashed the oj6 baseband rom and it will not get passed the samsung galaxt note 4 image.

There was a recent similar issue where the OP found a way out using some of the advice I gave.
Basically, Odin flashed the modem and recovery separately to get full Odin tar to flash after factory resetting in stock recovery. Sounds like your Odin flash isn't taking either. Once you have those tar files, flash them twice as suggested with battery pulls greater than 30 seconds where indicated.
I'd follow the guide using OJ6 tar to extract recovery from and the OJ6 modem tar you already have. I added one extra edit l found useful when I attempted to duplicate the OJ6 recovery tar flash myself; look for that too. Alternatively, you could use KIES to try recovery at any point that it recognizes the phone using its emergency recovery feature.
If that doesn't work, try the OG5 tar for files using the OG5 modem I linked in that thread.
You should read the whole thread to get the idea of the recovery theory starting with the summary the OP posted in this link below.

Best wishes for success.

OP is original poster. It could be 1st post or post quoted in some cases, although it could be the same user.
If your last post is truly the only obstacle, did you wipe following ROM OP instructions before you flashed and did you make sure the ROM flashed?
Often, custom ROMs will require more boot time on initial boot. Boot loop may suggest you didn't wipe the dalvik-cache partition. Usually, clean install is recommended. The updater-script may format system partition and others as well but without verifying specific ROM flashed, users may recommend wiping everything but extSdCard and formatting data partition multiple times each. If wiping system partition, you can expect the flash to fail with a binary failure in red when flashing unless you first rebooted recovery prior to flashing ROM. If you spot that failure, just reboot recovery with the reboot option menu and flash without wiping on second attempt.
If you've done all that and allowed time to boot, you may need to do the steps I've given in the suggestions above.
I hope you can find your way through it.
