The Epic 4G doesn't have such a rom. You're probably in the wrong forum.

Try a battery pull, and before you put the battery in, hold vol. down and power buttons down. Put the battery back in and keep holding those 2 keys. If you get the white HBOOT screen, it's probably not a hardware thing, but something with CM on your phone. Try another ROM if you can get into recovery through HBOOT.
Thanks I did the battery pull and got the h boot screen but the thing is I also flashed cm 7 and same problem, any idea? Thank you for the quick response

Well, are you dead set on using an AOSP ROM? If so, try ShadowROM from ROM Manager. If not, try a Sense ROM like Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo or Uber Z. Both are very fast, and have a lot of goodies in them (Uber Z has the new Sense interface, an updated music app, themes support, hibernate, etc. and Warm TwoPointTwo has Evo framework for Evo themes and excellent battery life on the stock kernel)
Back up your data/apps and try one of those Sense ROMs, maybe?
Will do thanx

When you press the power button, do you actually feel the "click" of pushing the button, or does it just feel soft and mushy?
What's the difference between hard reset (hold vol down while powering on) or soft reset just erasing data on phone in the SD and phone storage menu?
Answers?

Volume down and power button while turning on will turn the phone on into bootloader and doesn't erase any user data. If you use the factory reset in the phone storage menu, it resets your phone completely back to stock. Like, fresh out of the box stock.

The hard reset you are referring to is the bootloader which allows you to enter recovery if rooted. Some people prefer to go into recovery this way instead of rom manager. From recovery, you can nand and wipe your phone. Are you rooted? And, are you trying to do something? I'm just curious about the line of questions.
Also, +1 on what absolut said

OK, but:
Did you get what you needed?
Lol I know that volume down pours you in boot loader but is there any difference between the two? And as far as me being rooted not yet I'll root today but that brings another question...so I hear all this hype about CM7, give me a brief explanation of what it is and if its flashable.

It's the same thing. The hard reset is just an alternative for when you can't access the phone's menus for whatever reason.

good luck and make sure you read, research, read, research, and read and research again and again. That way, the odds of screwing something up is significantly decreased.

I finally updated my phone from EB13 to EH17... the first thing i noticed is that the 3 button kill does NOT work... and anyone else confirm this? and is it possible to get it back?
Yes it true that doesn't work on any of the gb leaks. I don't know if its because they're leaks and maybe be added on official but I haven't heard of a mod for that.

It doesn't seem to work anymore, did they take it out?
I'm holding down volume up, power, and camera. Doesn't do anything.
If you are on a stock EI22 build, they put a recovery flash into the release build that overwrites cwm or acs recovery. qbking77 did a video on how to circumvent it. check the stickies on EI22 for a link.
I'm running CWM 3.1.0.1, the purple one, and Legendary ROM. Should it still work?

I think you mis-read the OPs question...He isn't asking about the Recovery, he's asking if the "3 Finger Salute" is still present in EI22.
OP: AFAIK, the 3 Finger Reboot method has been taken out of this build. I was bummed out when I found this out. I still forget it's not there and all I end up doing is raising the ringer volume on my phone and put it to sleep! LoL

i believe they took this out after EC05
I have tried that same move on all the roms I have used since EC05 and they must have taken it out. I was thinking maybe that they had changed the keys around or something. Instead of up power and camera it was another combo but not sure where to start.
hey i have FF18 ICS and i cant take a screen shot. I tried holding the volume down + power button numerous times for different lengths of time. It does not work for me at all.
i got this phone recently off craigslist and was never able to take a screen shot.

can anyone help me?
Also, im interested in installing Beats onto my stock FF18, anyone have a link or can help me with that? i googled and was only able to find how on GB roms not sure if its the same for ICS.

It is Volume Down + Power as well. People try it a hundred times and tell me its not working. One day they finally get it. Home + Power was how it was in Gingerbread. But if the screen turns off or you see the volume bar, you failed miserably, thats how i train people
99% chance I can pick up your phone and do it right now, 1% chance somethings wrong, thats only like 400,000 phones right? haha
