It doesn't seem to work anymore, did they take it out?
I'm holding down volume up, power, and camera. Doesn't do anything.
If you are on a stock EI22 build, they put a recovery flash into the release build that overwrites cwm or acs recovery. qbking77 did a video on how to circumvent it. check the stickies on EI22 for a link.
I'm running CWM 3.1.0.1, the purple one, and Legendary ROM. Should it still work?

I think you mis-read the OPs question...He isn't asking about the Recovery, he's asking if the "3 Finger Salute" is still present in EI22.
OP: AFAIK, the 3 Finger Reboot method has been taken out of this build. I was bummed out when I found this out. I still forget it's not there and all I end up doing is raising the ringer volume on my phone and put it to sleep! LoL
It's volume down...not up.

+1 on quick boot
i believe they took this out after EC05
I have tried that same move on all the roms I have used since EC05 and they must have taken it out. I was thinking maybe that they had changed the keys around or something. Instead of up power and camera it was another combo but not sure where to start.

Is anyone able to get the notification volume up to what it was in DI18? Since EB13 came around they cut it down to where you can barely hear it and the ringer is obnoxiously loud. Being I text mostly having the louder notification volume would be ideal for me.
IIRC I think someone patched this up in DK28 but I haven't seen anything on it since.

Now make it work on EF02! lol
Yeah if you can make it work for EF02 it would be awesome.
has any one tried this on ef02? it may work fine...i haven't looked at the files but i'd say make a backup in cwm and flash it and let us know if it works...worst case is you have restore a backup no harm done
if it doesn't work then i will make one that works for ef02
well i just compared the stock files from ec05 to ef02 and they are indeed different so i'll have to make a new one for gingerbread...not going to have time to do it today but i'll churn one up soon

This may be a dumb question but before today I never even knew it existed. What is "safe mode"? Is that like safe mode on a windows pc where it only loads default drivers, or is it something else entirely?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
I'm interested too. In what capacity did you first learn of "safe mode"?
??
I don't think this exists on this phone, so I am not sure what you're talking about here.
There is the bootloader, recovery, and then normal phone functions.
Where did you hear about safe mode?
I know there's hboot.. recovery and bootloader. But safe mode never heard of it
Sent From My Optimized HTC Incredibly Dinc
I actually found out about it on accident. My phone kept looping at the boot animation. I went to pull the battery but accidently hit vol down and power button at same time wile pulling off the cover. All of a sudden phone vibrated 3 times and then booted but it had safe mode printed in the lower left corner. I tried googling it but couldnt find anything thay explained exactly what it is.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
You can try it on your phones. When the boot animation starts playing hold vol down and power at the same time. Keep holding it untill your phone vibrates.

It did allow me to fix my phone without having to restore a nandroid. I was trying to get a hotboot mod to work on the new stock rooted GB when i got the boot loop. But being able to boot into safe mode allowed me to change the moded file back to the original therfore fixing my boot loop issue.

Hmmm I did try it but couldn't replicate your results. I tried holding V-&Power at both the splash screen and the bootanimation. Both attempts yeilded only booting normally.

I've been doing some more googling and it seems every stock rom running android phone has safe mode, but different phones have different ways of entering into it. Some vol down and power, some vol up and power, some you have to hold the menu button, some vol down power and menu, and some holding down the track ball.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Hmm, never stumbled onto that before. Thanks to everyone for feedback!
Interesting, I'll have to try it next time I change up my phone config
Edit:
Wow, that just saved me from a lot of trouble. Flashed a voltage table that was unstable and caused the phone to bootloop, this worked saving me from an uninstall.

You need odin, the ec05 tar, and victory pit. Search qbking77 on youtube. All you'll need to do is power off the phone, and then when you connect the phone to your computer, you'll hold down the number 1 on keyboard, and the power button to get into download mode. Its easy.

I just re read your post. If you can't see anything on the display, than your service provider won't have a clue that your phone is rooted.

Don't chance it with this, at least, not in my opinion. I would go the Odin route as suggested above, to make sure you cover all your bases. And get all that stuff off the SD card too, like the clockworkmod folder and anything else that would imply root was there at some point in time.
Just odin back to ec05, and after ur done, just take ur sd card out before taking ur phone to sprint. If they ask for it, just tell them u miss placed it somewhere at home.

It is Volume Down + Power as well. People try it a hundred times and tell me its not working. One day they finally get it. Home + Power was how it was in Gingerbread. But if the screen turns off or you see the volume bar, you failed miserably, thats how i train people
99% chance I can pick up your phone and do it right now, 1% chance somethings wrong, thats only like 400,000 phones right? haha
To start, my GS3 was rooted, had a custom recovery, but was still on stock Rom. I followed QBKing77 video today on manually installing the JB rom. I put stock recovery back on, then applied the update. It flashed just fine. I was still rooted after the flash (wasnt sure if I was supposed to be still rooted). Anyway, phone worked for a good 4 hours, checked everything out and everything worked just fine. Suddenly, the phone is frozen now. It is not responding to touch and is vibrating as if it is having a problem. Cant even unlock it. If I slide my finger on it, this green box highlights things on my homescreen. Everytime I slide my finger on it, it toggles through some of the items on my homescreen (sprint, then the clock/weather widget, then each of the short cuts on the lock screen) then starts over again. Each time it vibrates as well. Cant unlock the phone and I am just stuck...HELP PLEASE???

I was going to try to unroot and odin back to stock ICS using the tar file... Thoughts? I figured regardless of what I am on, I can always go back to true stock by odin-ing back using the stock tar... right?
ya that works too
I figured it out now, for some reason, in settings, accessibility, "talk back" was on, this caused the entire phone to not respond act semi frozen... I somehow got into settings by trying all sorts of things (swiping, double tapping, pinch to zooming, etc), and was able to turn it off...now the phone is fine. I am not sure why talk back would completely change everything and freeze the entire phone up. But I would not select that feature and turn it on...the phone literally felt unusable. I was 5 min away from odin-ing back to stock tar before I found this issue...
I would say skip the bs and just Odin back to stock. If this doesn't fix it, it's beyond software.
