I used it for a bit then found out it's security is non existent. Basically anyone could get any info from your phone using this launchers data.

This is factually incorrect. Maybe you should re-read whatever article you're garnering that from. The API is publicly accessible, but it only contains lists of installed apps. It used to include location, but no longer does. Couple that with that the fact you would need to know the IMEI of the phone you were trying to access to get their ID, I would hardly say "anyone could get any info from your phone". The developers also said they are addressing the access availability of the API. There's no need to spread false information. I personally use it, and if I felt the security issue was as dire as you portray, then I wouldn't.

Yep, I read that too. It had already been updated by the time Koush made that post. His main gripe was that the API is accessible to the public. Which, I completely understand, but its not really a real world problem. Sorry, didn't mean to jump all over your ****.

Its still closed, invite-only beta.
I didn't get an invite (that I know of, anyway). I just tried to +1 something & it asked me to sign in with my Google account. That was at least a month ago. I haven't used it since though, just thought I'd get my foot in the door. I'm not big on social networking - the only thing I use is Facebook, and I only check that once a week.

Its either that he invited you or that you were apart of the invites from Google.
Its still invite only.

There are some aspects of it that look like Facebook.
However, there are some aspects of Facebook that looked like Myspace.
All websites of social networking nature have similar aspects.
In fact, most websites in general have similar aspects.
There are plenty of things about Google+ that make it quite different.

They've been looking to get rid of Rope for awhile now and even though it appeared he didn't open the door for them to do so, it doesn't matter. They can do what they want.
After browsing this forum, and the top 10 apps thread, Tapatalk is obviously hugely popular. However there doesn't seem to be any mention of Tapatalk HD which is now out in beta from the Tapatalk forums.
I didn't know if everyone was aware of it and already using it. I did search these forums and there are a couple of threads....but not in Nexus 7.
I hope you guys find the HD app as great as I do

It also rotates to landscape and backwards/upside down. My smartcase fold is at the bottom.
Kinda awkward. Never used Tapatalk before. I guess it'd be good for multiple forum handling but I prefer the XDA app specifically for XDA.

Lame, you have to register to get the beta. No thanks. You think you pay for this thing and they turn around don't tell you jack about the HD version.
To be honest, I have not been impressed by the lack of features and integration with some forum options. Also some of the patches have been poor and affected performance and even still the little pic for each forum you are subscribed too does not show up right away like it used to.

I have to say as a new Tapatalk user and having heard many people saying how good it is im thinking, am i missing something here, there are only a few small categories and when i searched for a forum im a member of , and even posted the actual URL it brought up a list of TECH websites including funnily enough XDA and the forum i wanted was a music forum so it's not that good from what i can see, i had to just log into the forum the nornal way via Chrome.
Am i missing something here about Tapatalk, it really doesn't look that good and, i certainly wouldn't be paying for an app like this in the market unless they came up with far more categories for forums.

If you want a forum included in tapa talk, just contact the forum admin and request they include the tapatalk plugin. Its actually very easy for them to do... if they want to do it that is...

Well i suppose i could do that, but personally speaking i think it would be a lot easier if you just typed the forum URL into Tapatalk and it had the ability to save that particular forum so you wouldn't have to contact them and it just saved from there on in.
Not to mention the severe lack of categories available.
Overall im disappointed to be brutally honest. :/
The fact is the forum needs the plugin so that the app has permission to post/interact with the forum
If it just automatically worked, that would be HUGE security risk and anyone could potentially post/act as an admin... It needs to communicate with the forum so it knows your level of access

Believe it or not I don't have the T999L! Just the plain old original T999. I just jumped in on that stuff because I like getting in on that discovery phase for a new device. And it was closely related enough that I could apply much of what I already knew to help others.
I have put out a few requests for the dumps needed. But for some reason most people just don't want to do the little bit of legwork required I guess. I still can't even get a /system dump or pull for the T999N, though several have said they would do so. Can't provide em with a way back to stock without it.
Anyway, I've kinda run into the same issues for finding these dumps. Still trying though.

Not to defend Hangouts being poorly designed. But don't call somebody a retard for that. Let's see you design it then. You'd be even more retarded probably.
You know the first step to improving Hangouts? Revert it to Google Talk. Its one thing to poorly build something from scratch. Its another thing entirely to worsen a decent, functioning product in the name of "upgrading" it. See Maps for the same pattern. And judging from reviews of both, I'm hardly the only one who feels this way. You couldn't even see who was online till the last update, for god's sake. That is plain retarded, sorry.

Back on topic: I keep hearing this new apk has bugs galore, I think I may instead way for the official roll out by google, just in case there's something Nexus 5 or Kitkat specific about this one.

Had a few gliches with hangouts,so deleted it. The new email 6.0 is still doing fine.
