Hi,
I have been reading alot on the CF auto root and it is sure tempting. I just moved from the iphone community to the android world in June and I am very eager to root my phone. Just like what I did to my iphone, in this case, jailbreaking.
Unfortunately I only have 3 Macs running PC/Laptop at home. Any idea on how I can do it?
Regards,
ian.

Hi guys, so I'm gonna do a favor to a friend, and wanted some help. So, he has a Note 2 and its baseband is UBALJ2. Can I use the toolkit to just root and done, or some other steps before. I'm asking because I've always had trouble rooting devices from that carrier (Claro). Thanks!

handwritten from my note 2 (N7100)
Hey guys and gals, I been with xda for a couple of years now, I like and respect what young guys do here. I always had a windows phone. But my past phones were android phones. So I'm new to the android swag. So my problem is that I want to use my T-Mobile Samsung galaxy s3 as I WiFi, so how could I do that? I know I have to root my phone. So do I have to root my phone and install a ROM or can I only have my phone rooted to get a free WiFi app?

there are ways to prevent apps from knowing you're rooted.
for example, my bank's app refused to run since my phone was rooted; the advice here:
http://blog.zackehh.com/using-barclays-mobile-banking-rooted/
could also work for your unroofed device.
...you mean someone stole the roof of your house because you had a Sky Dish on it .
Makes your user name very ironic

I haven't rooted for this exact same reason so I'd be very interested to know of any decent solutions

As far as I know Heimdall for Linux isn't compatible with this tablet so I'd be surprised if it works on Mac either.

Sucks. Every one I know has a mac. Only reason I got one was for graphic design. Gotta buy a pc because I love tinkering with android so much.

Not having a PC is the only thing standing between me and the true AWESOMENESS of this tablet... just a few more weeks!
