As far as I know Heimdall for Linux isn't compatible with this tablet so I'd be surprised if it works on Mac either.

Sucks. Every one I know has a mac. Only reason I got one was for graphic design. Gotta buy a pc because I love tinkering with android so much.

Not having a PC is the only thing standing between me and the true AWESOMENESS of this tablet... just a few more weeks!

It all depends on if it's tethered, or untethered jailbreak.

Since we are all sharing stories. I purchased a used 3g last year to see what the big deal was. I spent more than 2 hours trying to jailbreak the crap vecause itunes wouldnt recognize the packages. Once i got it jailbroken i tried unlockinh it and it broke the jailbreak which lead me to start back at stock iphone. I did finally get it to find out the came firmware or hardware had an issue. Ended up scrapping it. I love android

You guys must not be very technically inclined heartbreaking is as easy as plugging the thing into the computer and running the executable and following directions....

and isnt untethered just a one click.
both are simple for me. All i had to do was the read and follow the tutorial for the device (iphone/ipod touch).
Well after I jailbroke it I found that easy but not knowing cause I've never messed with an iPhone found it more difficult to handle and much easier to flash or anything else themes and stuff

The only thing i miss from iPhone was the syncing with all my other devices

I'm confused. Are you saying doing something you have never done before is harder than doing something you have done before?
If you have an at&t iPhone they now offer their customer the ability to unlock their iPhones

On device root

Is there a way to get root on my note 2 without a computer. I ask this because the sprint note 2 is not listed as working for exynos abuse
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I haven't found a method that doesn't use a computer, why can't you use a computer?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I used exynos abuse. In fact I have never hooked my phone to my computer except to transfer files. Although I was on ljc which still had the exploit

I can't use a computer because mine is broken. Is it possible to downgrade without root.

Unroofed because of skygo

I haven't rooted my note 2 n7105 yet because I use skygo is there a easy way around skygo not working in rooted devices?
I just want skygo to work properly and all the time as I watch a lot if sport in there

there are ways to prevent apps from knowing you're rooted.
for example, my bank's app refused to run since my phone was rooted; the advice here:
http://blog.zackehh.com/using-barclays-mobile-banking-rooted/
could also work for your unroofed device.
...you mean someone stole the roof of your house because you had a Sky Dish on it .
Makes your user name very ironic

I haven't rooted for this exact same reason so I'd be very interested to know of any decent solutions

That's my thoughts if this one dies. As long as the HDMI converter works on them. Haven't researched it yet though.

That galaxy 7" my mom picked to replace hers is doing nicely, I'm not sure it's a huge improvement but it runs well enough and probably lower in price now then it was a few months ago, especially with the first gen n7 coming down to $200 for 32gb. The screen alone would make it a better device then the a100 if nothing else.
OK. Asus memo pad. Its like $100 right now, and it has like a 5340ma battery, I'm all about that! Reportedly they're gonna come out with a new one for $150 though, and the Samsung one has an ir blaster built in, and multiwindow, and since it Samsung there should be a strong development forum to fallback on. Tough call.

My A100 died quite a long time ago, but I'm picking up the 2nd gen Nexus 7.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Those look good but I'm not too concerned with the root ability ofy tablet, I'm more concerned on what it can do and if its smooth. If I go with the Samsung I'll want to mod the multi window so I can use any app with it though.

[Q] Rooting Note 2 on MAC

Hi,
I have been reading alot on the CF auto root and it is sure tempting. I just moved from the iphone community to the android world in June and I am very eager to root my phone. Just like what I did to my iphone, in this case, jailbreaking.
Unfortunately I only have 3 Macs running PC/Laptop at home. Any idea on how I can do it?
Regards,
ian.
