I'm currently running 4.0.4. The reason I haven't upgraded is that I need the WiFi tethering that I get from Foxfi. The reason I use Foxfi is that it works great, and I CAN NOT root my phone. I'm wondering if anyone has tried the latest version of Foxfi on the latest version of the OS on the GSIII on AT&T. Does it work? What are people finding? I'm seeing mixed results.
Thanks.

Greetings,
I'm currently rooted with my Sprint Galaxy S2, however the tether option isn't working. I'm using the ROM here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609255) on my phone. Can anyone shed some light on this one? Just not available in this ROM or what?
Thanks,
USMarineNCO
Wired or wireless tethering? And to what?

Easy Tueffel. You can use the Foxfi (market) or Wifi Tether (search it) apps. If you use Wifi Tether, set the device profile to Samsung Galaxy nexus (CDMA/LTE).

I believe that you flashed a stock rooted rom that does not include the hacked tethering apps.
You may want to consider switching back to Gingerbread if you're just starting out.
Here are the steps for that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24158551&postcount=9980
After that, you can flash a custom rom with wifi tethering already hacked.
Edit: The rom you downloaded is ICS based. If you're just learning about flashing your phone, you may want to switch over to Gingerbread based roms using the instructions I provided. It is far safer for a newbie NOT to try ICS until they're ready.
I'm currently running this GB Rom:

I wouldn't recommend trying to flash it directly unless you use the method above to get on the correct platform first. ICS and Gingerbread are different operating systems.

Use an updated ROM with the built in capabilities or use the modded trevE WiFi tethering app. A Google search can bring you to the trevE one

I currently have a 4.1.2 tmo stock rom installed so I can utilize wifi calling. I was wondering if there was a 4.3 rom where I could do the same. So far I have not found a way to do this. Anyone know of any way to do so? wifi
I went back to touchwiz after a year of cyanogen and I flashed it through odin mobile. I can't toggle the wifi button on. It keeps going to off. My data works though. Any ideas on how to fix it?

There is no Stock Touchwiz 4.4.2 for the T-Mobile variant of the Note 2. I suggest you search in the thread of whatever 4.4.2 ROM you installed. Good Luck.

Again, I am really not trying to be argumentative, and reaaly want you to have the support you are looking for. All I am saying, though, is that T-Mobile still has not released their official version 4.4 KitKat for this particular Samsung T-Mobile Note 2. I see that Wind Mobile released their version in May of this year. I am just stating that there is nos such thing as stock 4.4 KitKat running with a Touchwiz interface on a T-Mobile Note 2.
We have all been anxiously waiting for that release for at least a couple of months now. Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and even US Cellular have all announced thier release of 4.4 KitKat on their versions of the Note 2. Your Wind Mobile provider has also released their KitKat as you point out in your link. Unfortunately T-Mobile has not yet released that software.
I have reviewed the link you provided and it seems that you are correct and Wind Mobile has your official release of KitKat for the Note 2. However, I am not sure how we can help in the T-Mobile forum, since we don't have that official firmware yet. Thousands of folks here sure wish we did! Sorry, bud.
I am running an OG HTC One M7 with the original stock firmware and ROM - 4.2.2. It's S-off and rooted, and for wifi tethering Foxfi had been my go-to. It looks like Verizon recently killed Foxfi, and I've been looking for an alternative but so far no luck. OpenGarden doesn't seem to work. I am thinking about flashing a custom ROM just for this, maybe Santod's stock rooted 5.0.2, but a friend who did that experience horrible drop in battery life so I am a little tentative. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
