Wifi tethering options for OG One running stock 4.2.2 - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I am running an OG HTC One M7 with the original stock firmware and ROM - 4.2.2. It's S-off and rooted, and for wifi tethering Foxfi had been my go-to. It looks like Verizon recently killed Foxfi, and I've been looking for an alternative but so far no luck. OpenGarden doesn't seem to work. I am thinking about flashing a custom ROM just for this, maybe Santod's stock rooted 5.0.2, but a friend who did that experience horrible drop in battery life so I am a little tentative. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

[Q] Flash EVO 4G back to stock ROM

Does anyone have a working link to a stock EVO 4G stock ROM that can then be used to update to the latest stock ROM+radios+whatever? I've been searching around here and the Internet in general, but I'm having trouble wading through the sea of dead links to stock ROMs and links to ROMs that have been hacked to remove radios and whatnot.
I've been using the last good Evervolv JB ROM and it's just too unstable, and my radios and stuff are probably out of date too, so I'd like to try going back to stock for a while.
Note regarding root: It would be nice to be able to keep root, but not if it means having to use stock ROMs that have been modified to the point where it will be a pain to update to the latest stock ROM+radios+whatever. I can always re-unroot myself if needed.
Thanks!

I'm looking for the exact same thing... I'd like to go back to the stock HTC Sense ROM, but I've lost my old backup copy (long story) and having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Did you happen to save a backup of your stock ROM before switching to the Evervolv ROM? If so, could you send me the Zip?
Or, if anyone out there on the forum could help, that would be great.
I was hoping to get some benefit to a more recent version of Android, but all the ROM's I've tried thus far seem to have one glitch after another. I'd prefer to go back to a stock, or some slightly upgraded version of the SENSE IU. Any suggestions appreciated.
I downloaded this ROM as it looked like a good "SENSE-esque" ROM, and looks like most everything is working on this version.

Thoughts?
I don't have a backup of my stock ROM as far as I know.
I really wanted something close to stock, so I think I ended up settling on [Rom]TN_Elousions3.2_OTA_5.07.651.6_Deoxed_Stock_Theme.zip which is a moderate mod of the last stock ROM.
I ended up going through the S-OFF process as well to make sure that I had the latest radios and such.
It's functional, but between the Sense changes and the fact that it's Gingerbread-based means that there are some things about the UI that just aren't as nice as Evervolv. The upshot is that the battery consumption is lower and the hardware features work or work better (4G, FFC, camcorder, FM radio, etc.).
I'm tempted to try one of the last official Cyanogen ROMs just to see if I like the UI better than Sense, but I'll probably just stick it out until I get a new phone.

I would recommend Wicked X 8.0 and Tribute rom and most of the AOSP roms are always being updated
root: there are several methods to root; first and mostly recommended flash Philz recovery for the D2Lte in Odin just make sure your on the latest one then root your stock rom with the option under Philz settings called Re-root(SuperSU)or you can use any recovery and flash the SuperSU zip from Chain fire or you can just use TowelRoot for the actual rooting process then download SuperSU and BusyBox from the PlayStore
Battery life is dependent on your setup/phone/signal/kernel settings/sync/preferences and will be mostly the same between stock based to stock based and from AOSP to AOSP types. It is best to look through the recent threads in the 2 development sections and find which features are most attractive to you. Rooting methods are in the General section.
You are in good shape as you have already upgraded to ND8 with firmware and modem. It seems there are issues trying to run ND8 ROMs on phones that have not upgraded already so your choices are mostly wide open.
Happy Flashing
I've been trying out numerous ROMs this past week or two, because I was having terrible battery life as well.
I have tried WickedX, Tribute ROM, Conquest: SIngularity, CM11, SlimKat, BeanStalk, Spirit ROM, LiquidSMooth, Quantam and MIUI.
The ones I liked the best were Tribute ROM, and MIUI, they both gave me better battery life, and after tweaking the settings and stuff it was even better.
Thanks for the responses, haven't had a chance to go through with the rooting process but should be able to over the weekend.

[Q] stock tw rom w/unlimited tether

are there any stock tw roms out there that are rooted that have no tethering provision from tmobile. the unlimited tethering ones. its for m919. think i want to go back to stock just rooted and have unlimted tethering. i found this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...stock-base-4-4-4-nh7-rooted-deodexed-t2873695 its just not sure if it has unlimted tethering. any help would be great. thanks.
The link you have for ShinySide's rom is as close to stock as you'r going to get.
More stock than this would be straight up samsung nh7 firmware, rooting and self debloat.
Only roms with built-in tether are custom and sometimes heavily modified roms.
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55931008 will give you tether using the native tmo widget (without going nuts setting it up ) ..

You already have the original rom rooted.
The best rooted rom would be the stock factory rom, best because it's stable and everything works.
There are custom roms but they have limitations compared to stock rooted. The first thing you loose is the WiFi calling and S-Pen features at the expense of some customization.
Some of these tweaks can be added by using xposed which has been moded for lollipop already while still keeping the added features that the Note 3 is known for like WiFi calling , Stylus pen etc.
I personally run stock/rooted with all the junkware that Samsung/T-Mobile added removed.
Phone works great with great battery life and with the added stability of the stock operating system.

The link for stock /rooted rom does not exist. For that reason no one will post a link.
Op didn't say what version or firmware was currently on phone, it's possible that root didn't allow ota for lollipop to install and KK is what they are running.
In this case you unroot and hookup to kies and get the lollipop update, root, custom recovery and debloat.
Whala, rooted stock lollipop rom.

Not Sure where to look...

So i have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 4, that was on cyanogen but am reflashing back to stock temparily.
I have the stock rom and am currently flashing it.
But i am wondering if their are any "stock"ish roms that have root and native hotspot added into them.
Im not really sure where to look or what the root and hotspot additions are called on Rom builds.
If any one could help that would be great.
Thanks
