Can anyone confirm this? App2sd was a feature on Android 2.2, but we know that Sammy likes to mess with our heads and intentionally disabled this feature on our Note 2. Is it now enabled, by Sammy, on 4.3?
want new app2sd script for 4.3 note 2
i'm on ditto note 3 rom v3.1
move2sd feature on 4.3 rom just moves the app from internal storage to external storage but doesn't swap internal and external memory locations.
MY PROBLEM
app2sd script which worked fine in 4.1.2 not working for new 4.3 rom. im using 64gb sd card. so please can anyone find me the solution
please fix this app2sd issue
i play lot of games and it is difficult for me without swapping memory cards to use them
Honestly, I've abandoned the standard app2sd in favor of using foldermount. I've moved all my big games to my external sd card (over 10gb) and anything under 100mb I just leave on the device. I now have close to 7gb free on my phone.
The great thing about using foldermount is that after you flash a new rom, you simply remount the folders within the app and when you download the game again from the app store, it only needs to download the app, not the huge asset files which go along. Using app2sd you lose this handy trick.

for the pro member here, what is more effective? move2sd or link2sd
base on free memory and performance .. tnx
Personally... NONE
Use Titanium's backup batch option and move the apps that you want to your sd card
really? none? why?
IMO, link2sd is good (since i havent tried move2sd), since it moves lib and dex files too. i think titanium only moves the apk file, isnt it?
do anyone tried data2sd?
Move 2 SD usually moves internal memory installed app to sd and it is very effective if you have low internal memory left.
I use "DroidSail Super Move 2 SD" it is free on market and does what I need.
I have already moved unnecessary apps that does not needed to be installed on internal/phone memory, for ex: Facebook,Twitter etc.
If you find difficulties for using this app PM me...

Just got the Note2 coming from sprint s2.
I'm not yet rooted, so I installed app2sd, got a 32gb SanDisk.
When I open and try to move app (any app) to sdcard, there is no option to move app to sd.??
Do I have to be rooted, or sdcard not formatted correctly?
My storage does show my sdcard, and camera does snap into sd... So, I'm missing something... Do I have to be rooted to move apps to sd?
Make sure your sd is formated to fat32 instead of exfat. Try that first and then go from there.

From stock, this options is no longer available. There are, however, programs that can trick android into doing this.
So what you guys are saying is, without root we can't move any apps to sd?

It seems that way. I haven't been able to find a way to do it. I'll root this weekend.
The biggest reason native app2sd does not work is your /sdcard is internal memory, /sdcard and /data are the same partition so moving from /data to /sdcard is pointless. This was done to remove the need for apps2sd. I suggest directory bind application to symlink large app folders so the data resides on /mnt/extSdCard but the app can stilll look for it on /sdcard.

No, the App2sd doesn't just show up as an option even after rooting. Even with after being rooted the only way that I know how to App2sd is by using the script shown in that video. Yes, the script method did worked for me. With the script method it is one way to App2sd only. You don't get to choose which app goes where. No script - apps go to internal memory. With script - apps go to SD card.
Not apps to SD but Gameloft games to SD.

Get App2sd to work on Jelly Bean 4.1
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S3 or Note 2, or perhaps a HTC Evo 4g LTE (One X w/ microsd slot), then you might try this app.
EVEN NEXUS  users can use this app to save apps to a flash Drive
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&feature=also_installed
YES you do have to be rooted for this to work.
Also if you have large Gameloft games or Gun Bros and other large data games, the this app may be for you:
[play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slf.ListglApp&rdid=com.slf.ListglApp&rdot=1
This may free enough memory for what you need but be a little less complicated. There is a video on the Play Store for this app showing how to use it.
Directory bind is another option, but I am not familiar with it yet. Hope this helps.
P.s. Just so there's no confusion to the Title, these do not make the actual "App2sd" app or "AppMgr III" work. These are simply a way around Google's Changes.

There are quite a few apps in the market that allow it.
With the galaxy s3 you can't install apps and run them from the SD card... unless you do the storage swap mod...
yeah none work they all say phone not supported

Im having dificulties finding the storage swap mod for the S3. Can anyone help? I use alot of games and my storage is full!! (ROOTED)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886091
Be careful..if you do it wrong when ever you try to install apps it will say "storage space full" and you have to Odin back to stock to fix..but if you do it right its a good thing to have..also use titanium backup and back IP the games you're not currently playing and save them for when you want to play them and restore.. read the thread carefully as I do not know if it works with jelly bean if you're on that.
EDIT***** Theres also this link

does anyone have a more stable way to install apps to the SD besides script manager? that works horribly for me
Try the link 2 sd.
But you may create a partition in your sd card first before you can use it though.

I haven't used link2sd much but from a quick glance, it looks like link2sd will move app and its cache to the sd card. FolderMount on the other hand will create symbolic links (I think I am correct here if not correct me) to your SD Card. So if you want to move say a gameloft game where it has 2gb of game files on your phone to your sd you can do that with FolderMount.
I use a zip file flashed in recovery that swaps internal and external sd. I think Its called internalsd2externalsd.zip

a lot will depend on what ROM you're running. As you've seen, there is quite some variance in the answers given.
slightly generic, if you're on a Android 4.2, your options are going to be limited. You can try foldermount. The developer is pretty active in maintaining the app. You can try a script some developed; I've seen it in the directory mount thread, but that may be just to use directory mount in 4.2.
if you're on 4.1, you have quite a few opitons--FolderMount, Directory Bind, scripts changing the SDcard to the internal memory, etc.

Check the i9505 Development forum. I believe most, if not all of their modded/stock ROMs do. Just be sure to flash a T-Mobile kernel after flashing a ROM from any other section that this one.

Nice thanks:good:
I heard the built in App to SD isnt very efficient and doesnt move all apps properly. But FolderMount is an app that does the job perfectly, and i highly recommend it. This one works on every ROM and ive used it to fill up my 64GB external SD card without any issues. All apps and everything moved wih this app function 100% properly.

Apps and games. You just mount the directories of the apps or games that are saved to your phone over to directories that it can automatically create for you or that you make on your SD card.

Doesn't do anyhing but cause issues. I already had files for madden12 on sd card after I used folder mount and switched files to ex card it asks me to download files again for the game. So it's useless to me. Waiting on elesbb app or somebody to come up with a switch mount script that works for all files.

Thats very strange because my apps did that with every single other app to sd card method, and would always make me re download, but this has worked for everything. Every gameloft game, every non gameloft game like Real Racing 3, works perfect. Even apps like skype and whatsapp or anything works flawlessly when i mount it to my external SD.

Did it ever give you a faulty module popup saying it needed to be patched? Cause that popped up every time i opened it for the first time and i patched it and then you have to reboot and then it works.

I tried it. It leaves the files in the original location (after selecting "yes" to allow them to be moved to the SD card). I confirmed they were on the SD card, but nothing was moved from the phone. What's the point? Doesn't free up any space. I tried deleting the files from the phone after they were "moved" to the SD card, and the app would not run. Error message about the SD card not being mounted.
What's the point if the files must be in both locations?? Saves no space.

From what I understand the app performs a mount with 'bind' option, the disk usage is not accurate as the system 'thinks' these files still reside on the internal sd, but are actually located on the ext. SD.

Oh. I see. A symbolic link, so if I delete file from what appears to be the phone, I'm actually deleting files on SD card. I get it. Thanks for clearing that up.
