ok, so i finally found the kernel which is about 235MB, i am still new to this so i don't want to screw things up,
now KezraPlanes, mentions the follwoing instructions to flash the ROM:
"Format system/cache/data"
i already have my i8150 (stock 2.3.6) rooted and CWM is installed with a backup of my existing ROM on the external SD
ok so what do i exactly format? cache? data? and where? before i flash the ROM,
please, some help
Wrong thread dude!
Anyway, for safety, install the rom through Pristine way, or just follow the rom's installation instruction.
Format system, cache and data under 'mounts and storage' menu in CWM.

Shouldn't this be in Android Development section? Instead of Themes and Apps? Judging from the OP it sounds and looks like a ROM.

If you urgently need youtube you can flash Eoghan's speed kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1707308
I can confirm that with that one youtube works so you can use it until Alquez and Eoghan find a permanent solution
Tiens, un autre Français
Yeah, either you wait for an update to the whole rom, either you use Eoghan's Kernel. I'd recommend waiting, but that's just me (I don't really watch youtube anyway...)

How did you install the google apps on cm7? I'm a long-time cm7.2 nightly user, and never had any problems with any of the google apps. The right way to install the google apps would be to flash the gapps zip right after installing your cm7. At least that's the way I did it, and never had any problems with it.
Thank you all for your answers
I think I will wait for an update, i think it would be better
To yeremina : Yeah, i have flashed the Gapps zip right after the installation of CM7 and I have installated Youtube through the Market. It's the right way, isn't it ?
Sorry for the double post but I have only one last question
To flash the kernel of Eoghan, I just have to make a backup with nandroid, wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash the .zip like any other ROM, isn't it ?

I post this new thread,
to make it way easier to ask your questions here !
Instead of making new threads etc, that goes sometimes whole offtopic, and it doesnt the right subject anymore, like you make a new thread to solve something and then someone knows the answer, but then the most of the peeps, ask in the thread what he created a new question so in my opinion is it kinda useless and its going nowhere, so you can every question you need asking here
Enjoy !!

Nice thread
arc S Jelly Sandwish stock mail app
Noob, first post, yes I've seen the video, yes I've used the search tool.
Now my question, concerning this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993&page=205
Does the defaul/stock mail app works? I.E. can you refresh the combined inbox?
I'm asking this because a few weeks ago I installed the official 4.0.4, build 4.1.B.0.431, ICS (yes, its the latest Sony is officially providing me to this day) and I had to go back to Gingerbread because I couldn't refresh the combined mail box.
There just wasn't an option to do so, and since on that thread people are complaining about the WCDMA/GSM network bug and they are being told thats an inherited problem from the official ICS I'm wondering if the email suffered the same fate.
And I'm asking here because as a new user I cannot ask directly on that thread and this was the 2nd best place I found, I do apologize in advance if there is a better thread to ask this particular question.
Sooooo, no news yet on my question? ^^^^^^^^
Yikes, well, I guess i can keep posting to get to 10 posts then ask on the other thread.
my arc keep sending message by itself when it reboot.. any solutions?

Flash original .587 kernel with flashtoo, the way i think. I face that things like you. At that time, I simply flash stock kernel with flashtool.
Still needing help with, my original question, does the jelly sandwish have the same problem on the stock email application as the official ICS?
I.e. combined inbox refresh?
Could somebody the post thread link of the tutorial to enable init.d tweaks on locked bl? PLEASE!!!

Have found it, was searching in wrong forum, excuse my laziness!

hi
regarding to the wipe and tick wipe i have probelm
why the options of the wipe are not appear in my PC
i tried to install the flash tool on another PC but i didn't get any thing still no option .
please your advice
There are a few things that bug me after installing CM10 FXP204 on my LT15i.
I don't know if this causes problems if not then I don't really care; My phone status tells me now I'm using an Arc S, (play store tells me I'm using O2 SEMC Xperia Arc S. as well).
Equalizers ain't working. The N7 player doesn't save the equalizer settings, but bass boost works. (Equalizer too as long as I don't leave the menu)
DSP Manager doesn't work at all it seems. I played around with all the settings but couldn't hear any difference.
Also, how do I remove accounts from sync using the HD 2.0.3Rom +mod?
Hi there,
I read several threads about installation of CM10, unofficial ROMS, and partitioning memory but didnt find any good guide which contains it all at once enabling a simple, smooth installation of JB on Wildfire. Can somebody send a link of such a page if it exists, or simply write a complete guide
Thanks a lot
Christian
You can't find any good guides to install a good working CM10 build, because there aren't any.
The one we currently have is definitely not a daily driver, but the devs are working on fixing that.

well, I think he meant if there was a good guide to install CM9, then...
I suggest to look into some of the ICS threads in the dev section. I believe the most frequented is a good start: [ROM][KANG][IMM76L][v09.20] Non-official CyanogenMod 9 - xda-developers

no, of course not all... I'd suggest to read the first post (obviously) because of the instructions. If you have questions then you could use the search box to search directly inside the thread and if that doesn't help or you have questions you can ask there.
If you don't have any questions it's a good idea anyway to read a few of the latest posts to get an idea if there might be problems or things to be careful with/aware of.

Thanks Pator and eventcom. I spent an hour on the first post and think I will manage it.
All but one question are answered there: I understood that If I've flashed bravo-recovery and backup then I have to flash bravo-boot after this and reboot. But what if I apply a new ROM? Is it bravo-recovery -> new rom -> gapps -> bravo-boot -> reboot or should I apply gapps after bravo-boot?
Thanks again!!!

if you already have set up custom mtd partitions you need to flash only the bravo-boot file again if you apply a new ROM. My order would be: Nandroid backup -> format system -> wipe cache -> wipe dalvik-cache -> flash new ROM -> flash gapps -> flash bravo-boot file -> reboot
One exception: some ROMs suggest wipe data also. In this case I'd do a "format data" after system wipe/format, too plus also a "complete wipe/factory reset" after wiping caches - it's a bit redundant - just to make sure everything goes right.
BTW: it would be great if you could change this threads title into something like e.g. "Is there a Jelly Bean installation guide" as it's a bit misleading for others

One more question
I have root, TWRP 2.3.1.1. recovery and latest Titanium-Kiss kernel.
Is it mandatory that I flash kernel again?
Also - is mandatory to delete kernel that is in ROM zip file, or can I just leave it there and it will do no harm?
Sorry, it will be my first custom ROM...
I'll try that one first, as is says "stable" - hope to learn a lot and then, when I'll know how to do it and reverse it, to go to CM10... - what do you think? Which one? Not which ROM is the best, I read that it's prohibited to question that, but just your idea as "guru", what do you think?
Thank you very much in advance and best regards, Mat

See as long as u stay in aosp it's not necessary to flash the kernel again
Pa,aokp,cm10 are based on aosp
But if u switch to sense u have to
Ur twrp Is correct
Although using a unpublished version is not safe
And. Leave the kernel in the zip ...don't mea with it...it's personal opinion ....all roms are same but customization differs ...if u flashing first time try cm10
Here is a detailed procedure

One more for the road...
First, I'd like to thank you for your reply :good:
Just one more question:
- as I'm going from stock ROM to custom, I thought to make "clean" install - wipe everything, including SD card and start from beginning, installing first new ROM, then gapps, then all my apps, do all settings and so on...
- is that a good idea? :fingers-crossed:
I'd rather do that, because I don't know if I do restore how all backed up apps will behave on new ROM...
Thank you very much in advance and best regards, Mat
Nahh....formatting the sd card ain't necessary ....but doing a full wipe for the phone is a must
