Fast-Boot Kf

I Got a KF a few months ago and it booted up slow but it booted the same speed as my friend's and my cousins. But after it had problems and I got a new one (the one I'm posting from) I saw that its boot time was much less. Does anyone know why this is?

Might be new kindle fire rom improvements. Amazon does them sometimes. I guess that made it speed up.

Kindle Glass Panel Issue

So.
My Kindle Fire 1st Gen has a glass panel issue where it doesn't adhere fully to the Lcd. It's been like this since I bought it.
I kind of procrastinated about sending it for warranty since I needed to use it. And now that Kindle Fire 2 has been released, and the OG kindle fire is out of stock, I fear that sending my Kindle Fire in will result in Amazon giving me a Kindle Fire 2, which has a locked bootloader.
Crap. What do I do?

Amazon still has hardware for repairs and such.
To start you could post in the correct section, so i have moved this to the Q&A section for you, and then not having a title that is of no use to anyone, so i have changed that for you to.

Okay thanks
Hmm. But there's the worry that they'll be like apple and give a a kindle fire 2 back. Like how when you send in your iPhone 4 for warranty, you get a new model if it was a hardware issue.

2nd gen Kindle Fire? wtf

I just bought a Kindle Fire thinking it was the same one I purchased several months ago and returned because I didn't like it... Well now that it's $159 I thought.. why not?
Upon looking at the forums here I've noticed it's not the same tablet is it? It's a "2nd gen" version.. no one has found root and there's zero roms for it. What a ****ter. I'm returning this POS.
Lol

Optimism is overrated.......anyways....why be upset about having an upgraded Kindle? More RAM, updated stock ROM......but one thing that confuses me (which is easily done) is Amazon's website specifies both the Kindle Fire (1st gen) and 2nd gen have the same OMAP 4430 CPU but states 1st gen has 1GHz of course and the 2nd gen has 1.2GHz stock.....???? I've always been nervous to use the overclocked 1.2GHz max frequency but if its used stock on the 2nd gen.....wtf? Lol
Sent from my rooted SCH-R880 POS
Probably the same CPU but a different revision.
Anyway it is probably just a matter of time before some smart devs crack this code and have root for it
Moral of the story: Don't buy a kindle fire or other locked down Android device unless you know there is a well established hacking and ROMing community to help you unlock it.

[Q] Getting a new kindle from amazon PLEASE HELP

My kindle's usb port is broken so I am getting a new kindle sent by amazon. I was rooted but did a factory reset and since the usb port is broke, there is no way to charge it so I thought I'd let it get to 0% charge and then be good. But I cannot do this because the TWRP screen pops up saying battery low (at 2%) and then shuts off my device. It does this everytime I press the power button. Do you think amazon will ask for their replacement back? Is there anything I can do to get rid of this screen seeing as the usb port is broke?
Thanks so much for any help!
Good question. I'm about to find out the same thing. They said if I ended up getting charged then I would be contacted first. They'll probably just reflash the stock software after fixing the port.

Why wouldn't they check to see if they can void the warranty by seeing twrp etc?
is your port completely broken? or can you wiggle it a certain way to make it charge? if you can do that, you can remove TWRP

I don't know what you can do. Maybe if you press it enough times, you can drain it under the minimum to turn on?

Mine is completely shot. So I have cm10.1 running and everything.

Did amazon say how much the fee would be? You wouldn't have to pay the full price of the fire would you?
Thanks all!!!!!!!
After an hour and a half of pushing the power button over and over it finally won't turn on anymore. Thanks everyone for your posts I think it's good now! Appreciate all of your responses and will give thanks

So 99% of people want to see it turns on when pressing the power button, you, are on the other hand, would love to see black screen when pressing it. LOL
It's good when seeing nothing on. Warranty preserved.

But as soon as they fix the port issue, they'll discover that bootloader, twrp, the things they might be looking for to be able to void the warranty, NO???
Good question. Probably depends on how they track the units. Are they really going to look at serial numbers or just flash the factory image?

Kindle fire barley charging.

Hi everybody,
I have a kindle fire that about a month ago began charging at like 1% per 10 - 60 minutes, the thing is that the cable of the charger is quite loose but it has been loose before the problem too... . So, I'll tell you what I did, Used Battery Calabrator, tried 3 roms, tried numerous power outlets with the charger and wiped battery stats. I'm totally lost guys .
What should I do to fix this? Is there even a way?, or should I just buy a nexus 7 cause now the nexus 7 2 is out? I don't have a lot of money spare so yeah, I can use some of your advice Should I get a new charger or something? If I should buy a new tab can you please send me a link to a good seller with a low price. If there is a way tell me plz , if not thanks again
Thanks,
Daniel

If you still have the One Year limited warranty, unroot the kindle fire and ask Amazon for a replacement. Its very common that kindles don't charge and is covered by their warranty. Just make sure it wasn't you who messed up the charging port.

Thanks 404,

You can try contacting Amazon and see if they will offer a discounted fire, tried that and they offered discounts on fire hds
