Hi guys,
Any idea for what to do with a black screen brick S5660? I tried most things i could come up with for like a month now xD
Maybe its time to ask for help hehe
i went from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6 then put superuser on it with root.
Then putted cwm on it and last of all rom manager then flashed a wrong rom it seems ( was late didnt pay enough attention and i was stil bit noobie back then )
and after that it never came back alive shamely.
I tried every button combo and only thing windows7 x64 seems to see is download mode with a black screen so i tried Odin but its stuck on connection setup always with whatever ROM i use and on whatever port.
Also tried my gf's comp same story.
I even tried vmware and did a guest windows7 32 on it to flash but same story blegh
Any ideas? would be awesome if someone knew the answer
One thing, never use ROM manager on a Gio it will be flashed to a brick

Sorry for late reply was on vacation etc lol BUT no in the end i couldnt get it to work on my own even with USB jig/every stock custom rom kernel bla bla in the world
Took it to shop and they switched my lil motherboard on it ( was fcked ) then it worked.
ps: phone now runs on cm9 with cwm 5+ and all kind of funny zhizzle
Shame the screen went poof on vacation when it dropped 10cm on a matras ( not joking )
So its black AGAIN with nice white dim lights when it refuses to switch on the LCD but the OS works lol
BUT THIS COULD MAYBE HELP PEOPLE
I can RUN it and SEE what it does with Android screen capture and sdk monitor ( very handy when ur screen is broken but OS isnt or in bootloop but u cant see screen cause its broken and ur wondering why doesnt it work :'( <-- my phone did that )
AND i can even TYPE in the screen with Remote web desktop + remote control add-on + wifi keyboard app with my OWN USB pc keyboard
( very handy when screen is broken on a non psyshical keyboard phone right? whaha
Tbh i didnt know any of these programs before this happened so i researched how to remote control an Android device on a desktop with a broken screen .
Hardly any info on that so here and there i read tried and added **** togheter for 4 days +- till it came out almost perfect ^^
Shame the screen is still broken lol but i got full control over it now 4 days ago that was 0% so im happy
EDIT: Try Android screencast. It shows the screen + u can click control it + keyboard when rooted over USB
Hi Guys,
I have a brazilian galaxy w that i've been using for about a year (no warranty).
I dont have a custom flash or anything on it. It just restarted today twice. After the second time, it just keeps restarting on loop. I tryed to get in Download or Recovery mode, but it just restarts again after a couple seconds in the modes.
Anything i can do? I tryed to research a bit but i dont really know the technical term for what happened.
Thanks

Reflash the ROM, without wipe. Or just restore your NAND backup.

I able go to the download mode, but only for about 5seconds, then the phone boot automatically..
how can I reflash the Rom if it's like that.
joehanh88 themed GT-I9070
Even I have the exact same problem. Happened randomly 3 days back.
Not able to get into Download/Recovery Mode. And battery also doesn't charge
Not in warranty, so can't go to Samsung.
I was running CM 10.1 when it happened
I just running stock ROM..
I can go to the download mode, but only last for 5 second, then the phone boot automatically again.

Same here. I went to a repair shop - he says it is a Software issue and was charging a high amount for reflashing on his own, and says no guarantees it will work.
So I got it back and am trying on my own
so there is no other way except bring to the repair shop?

I dunno, because if I put the battery, it will directly show the booting even I'm not push the power button.then it keep repeating until the gt-i8150 logo..
is it hard brick? But what cause the brick?

No clue what caused it. It was running smoothly for months before that.
My battery died after bootlooping for a while. Now charging it in another phone and trying
Okay, I got into download mode for enough time to reflash CWM Recovery - No use. After rebooting, bootloop still there.
I got into Recovery mode too - flashed cm 10.1, still after rebooting, bootloop.
The time before loop is random - sometimes can go into recovery/download mode, sometime, just restarts on starts.

are your battery is good. i also have those problem while my battery is dying.
or maybe your power chip is broken. but you should get to service center to make sure.

I just bought a new battery, and u don't think the new battery is the problem..but it might, because I'm using power bank to recharge the battery since I can't charge the phone with the provided charger because of I'm in the bus..
plus, my phone warranty already used once..I don't think I can use it for the second time.

I got it to boot, but only once.
I did the following steps :
1) Connected it by USB to PC
2) Started Odin, Flashed latest recovery
3) Went into recovery at the next boot, Installed CM 10.1
4) Phone booted
No battery detected, it says running on USB :S
Next time I rebooted it, again same bootloop.
I feel its a power chip problem. Like some loose connection between charger -> battery and phone.
Anyone else who can help out ?

Will take it to Samsung Service Center though doubt they'll repair it.
I downloaded the Jedi Mind Trick JB 2 ROM and installed it via clocwork mod recovery .. That went fine but it took me a few days to realize I didnt have a working video camera anymore on my phone.. so I thought to flash a stock ROOTed rom instead...
Then I found this threat about an updated version of Jedi Mind Trick's ROM labled JB 3.. So I wiped as much as I could in recovery and chose to format all the options it gave me in recover , Format system , data , cache , emms(or something) .. and now when I boot the phone , it shows the first flash screen , and the samsung logo starts to shimmer then it reboots back to the splash screen and repeats this process everal times before just going black and sitting there..
So I've successfully bootlooped my phone doing this..
MY PROBLEM -- I don't know how to charge my phone or connect to it to install anything else..
Is this a serious problem? How can I charge my phone to continue troubleshooting it? It still has some battery to try some things but I don't know how to hook it up to transfer any other roms to it via USB cable and PC in it's current state..
I'm very computer savvy but I'm trying to learn this phone modding stuff and I realy hope I didn't brick my phone in this process.
Can someone please help me out here? I'll be on the forums religiously until I figure this out.
What should I start doing first??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
still working at it
I think I'm at the point of having to use ODIN to flash a new rom since i cannot simply copy this rom to the sdcard to use clockwork to flash it .. Am I correct on this ?
For some reason this rom I found (should be stock rooted tmobile gSII rom) does not want to open from ODIN's PDA button cause its in .zip and not .tar or anything... I'm not sure how to flash this rom with ODIN ( I'm not even 100% sure this is how its supposed to go) Any suggestions ?
phew
UPDATE - So I managed to research enough to find out that there is no way to flash a CUSTOM rom with ODIN.. SO I had to download a stock (presumably rooted) t-mobile rom and flash THAT ...
Now I'm back up with a rooted rom and will begin re-installing clockwork and then my custom deodexed rooted rom afterward.
Thanks for all who almost kinda tried to care to reply in this past 2 hours =) -- As previously mentioned.. I am a nerd.. I just suck at phone modding. Haha
So , looks like I'm in the clear now and don't need any more support on this particular topic yet.

Is this true? Through a recommendation (haven't done anything to my phone from rooting/flashing KANGSJUGGERNAUT2 years ago), I tried to flash CM10 and ended up with a bootloop myself. Tried flashing through ODIN but it kept crashing; does anyone know why?
Afterward, I tried to reflash it through CWM and from then on bootloops into a installation process that never completes.
For some reason my CWM turned super slow, freezes/hangs and reboots after a few minutes.
I gave the phone to a friend who does this stuff on the regular but he said my initial flash wasn't complete cause in download mode says I'm still running official? No clue.
I was told this via email/chat: "No luck, it won't even boot anymore, I think I'll just bring it back tmrw morn
10:43 PM
Sorry I'm at a wedding (yea I know random) I left my phone with coat check
OK I've narrowed down the reason but not the solution, you had an AOKP based ROM which fundamentally is based on CyanogenMod, but it wasn't correctly flashed as the phone still thought it has factory ROMs still running
11:10 PM
Clockworkmod(even though it was working before) wasn't accessing the partitions of the phone correctly so it wasn't properly wiping or flashing properly.
11:12 PM
So basically from the first time you flashed cwm it didn't flash properly then the next time you flashed using the new recovery it didn't flash anything it was supposed to do itself properly , so basically it was a chain of events in addition to a bad boot loader, that's why it never went to recovery or download mode correctly
11:13 PM
That's something that had to do with the way the phone was built meaning you may of had a bad bootloader from the very begin and are now feeling the synptoms
Basically, and I would hate to be the reason or partially the reason you have a dead phone, basically it was a matter of coincedencr that it happened as this could of happened at anytime, once you have a bad boot loader its pretty much down hill from there"
Any helpful insight as how I can rectify this? is my phone truly dead? Sorry about the quoted format, it was copied and pasted.
If I were in your boat, I'd use Odin and flash the stock 4.1.2 ROM.

you can try using adb and put the phone in dl mode.
sometimes its as easy as pull battery and wait awhile (20 min or more) and try again.
if you've exhausted all possibilities, you can use a jig to force a dl mode.

I don't know what adb is, or how to use it; I have, however seen my friend RDP to my desktop and do something and used the term 'adb' in his attempt to code through the phone.
I've done that battery waiting period, for nearly an hour and still no result.
After doing some researching, I have found that many people have stated a USB JIG would not be applicable to a 'hard bricked' phone. I really wanted to try as it looked like the most, simple and inexpensive solution.

Hey guys,
I was running blueandroid custom rom on my p6 and it was all working fine. suddenly my phone shut down and since that moment i can't find a way to turn it on further then the huawei logo. pressing all three buttons for the forced update doesn't work. and i can't get in recovery. It simply doesn't make it till that point. sometimes it shows a random color (the whole screen) but most of the time it just shuts down at the huawei logo... i also tried fastboot but it doesn't get recognized...

If yes, try to flash twrp recovery via ADB.

It doesnt charge ( the led doesnt turn on and im pretty sure that doesnt) and i havent been able to try adb. Its also quite strange that it wont be in a stable recovery mode ( or fastboot mode) since it turn itself off after 10/20 seconds.
getting really lost
So guys,
i'm really starting to think i need to bring mine to the service center cus it's completely dead.
it won't charge, it doens't get into recovery mode, i can't flash the official firmware with the sdcart/dload/update.app way, i can't fastboot it cus it won't go in fastboot mode (the way it get stuck on the splash screen/huawei logo), and it shuts itself down after 20 seconds leaving nothing else then a black but brightened screen.....
i'm afraid i have to take full costs due my root and custom rom, if they can fix/see it at all.
it worked fine after all and shut down with no reason what makes me think this is a hardware problem.
does anyone else have any suggestions before i bring it to the service center?
thanks

But thats's ok, this is a common android problem, but some phone must be charged for al least two days, and after that try to flash another ROM. Even if the led is not always on, let it for a long time to charge, trust me, the power will be inside your battery, not full but enough to resist/handle a new ROM flashing.

Yea i know that... But it doesnt show the led when i charge it (so the led has nothing to do with the charging state of the phone), only in some cases when i try to boot into recovery. And the battery cant actually be totally empty, it was 40% when it totally crashed so i dont think thats the problem. And if so, it should at least get to the point where it is trying to flash the original firmware

Thanks for the support
Ive been to the service center, got a new phone directly, so everything is solved. For the information, my problem was a (like i expected) hardware problem, and there was NO way to fix without replacing hardware.
